Apparently back in John’s time, hanging pheasant was a way of tenderising the meat as well as enhancing its unique game flavour and texture. Fresh pheasant, tastes almost indistinguishable from the common fowl but when allowed to mature, it becomes a rich dish. Hanging pheasant is something that was mostly practised by the elite who did not live hunt-to-mouth. A pheasant would be hung for about 3 to 12 days depending on the weather or according to some people, until it fell off… then it would be ready to prepare.

Pretty sure Uejirou offered to sacrifice himself (he was already sick) as the traitor so it would protect the real one for Toranago, the bird had nothing to do with it except as a convenient excuse for his death so it could be pinned on him without reprise.

Have you ever stated what state you're from? If its private that's fine but your accent just sounds a lot like back home in SC :).

Did you ever watch the "Kill Bill" movies? David Carradine (Bill) was also in a great martial arts TV show called "Kung Fu". Those were my favorites related to Asian culture. There's a great reference to "Kung Fu" in another great movie, "Office Space". 👍
