Your mom is the first person reacting that caught the Benny Hill joke that I've seen. I used to watch him all the time in the eighties. peace from Central Texas.
A lot of people in the U.S where obsessed with Princess Diana. In the TV show night court one of the characters was obsessed with her and Prince Charles.
I still remember when I heard that Princess Diana had died. My friends and I were at a lively sports bar when the news came thru during a commercial break. It was eerily silent and you could hear some people weeping. A lot of people left for home, including us. I remember my friend's mom, who was very Irish, saying she was not much into the Royal Family but she loved Diana. I still have the video of her funeral procession and service. It's funny the things you remember in life, the highlights & tragedies. Diana was not even American but I think many of us wished she was.
I love the expressions on James face whenever his mom got so many more jokes faster lol....definitely need more of James mom reacting to funny stuff....everyone loved Princess Diana....I remember all the news coverage & tributes we had over here in the states
I've never seen Steptoe and Son, but I used to watch the American show based on it called Sanford and Son back in the 1970's and Redd Foxx was a riot! BTW James, you may like Benny Hill but you will love Hill's Angels!
I must say I love the tribute to Benny Hill at the end where the people are chasing him with the Benny Hill theme song. I loved The Benny Hill show which was a sketch comedy show back in the 1970s through the early 1980s.
The original comment with Winston Churchill was: "Winston, drunk again I see.", and his reply was: Yes, but you are ugly, and tomorrow I will be sober, but you will still be ugly."
I remember when Charles (wanker!) and Dianna had their first baby. There was a joke here in the US, that they were going to name it Up, so they could say they were Up, Chuck, and Di.
The royals aren't really talked about in the US, but there are people over here who did really like Diana and were sad about her passing. I never followed any of it, but I thought it was pretty horrible what happened.
Over here in the states , back in the 80's & 90's , Benny Hill was on late at night. Some years ago I got a hold of 10 VHS tapes "The Best of Benny Hill". And still have them to this day.
My mom stood in line to get me a Princess Diana Beanie Baby (I still have it somewhere). I was only six when she died but my mom told me she was a wonderful woman and from what I’ve learned since that absolutely seems to be the case. My aunt though… she’s OBSESSED with the royal family. Not sure why, but I guess it’s a hobby?
I'm a 46 year old guy from California. I grew up watching Princess Diana on TV, we loved her, too. I also grew up on Benny Hill...my parents were oddly OK with me watching.
I discovered Benny Hill on PBS (our local broadcast channel) back in the late 80’s and fell in love with British humor. That lead to “Are You Being Served”, Red Dwarf, and Doctor Who. Great stuff!
“Steptoe and Son” is one of the greatest sitcoms ever! Wilfrid Brambell and Harry Corbett were extraordinary actors, and the show successfully presented the human condition.... with a smile. ✨🌞✨
Love your mom's reactions lol! She's probably about my age (I'm in California born and raised). So much of this was made for a domestic US audience and (no shade on James and Millie), but many times younger people don't get the jokes or the sarcasm. It's all in good fun and yes, we LOVED the Queen and Princess Diana. Love to you both (:
Princess Diana's death was one of those days you remember exactly where you were when you heard the news. Quite a shock not only to the UK, but to the world.
I was maybe 6 or 7 when it happened and I swear her death seemed like a HUGE deal even more so than the death of the queen in recent years. Obviously that is subjective. Seemed like the generations before me LOVED her though.
I was six and remember seeing the funeral on TV. I had no idea who she was but my mom told me a bit about her at the time and it seemed like such a big thing. My mom even waited in line at a local toy store that had a limited number of the Beanie Baby to get it for me (I never asked but still have it!) Only time my parents ever cared about the royal family.
I love it when your mom reacts to videos with you. Tell her, that we did love Princess Dianna. Millions of us mourned her death deeply. Millions of us also love Her Late Majesty. Her death was felt the world round, of course. I follow and have great respect for His Majesty the King. Fun video. Peace
They used to air The Benny Hill Show on late-night TV here in the US. My dad would record it, and my brother and I used to sneak and watch it. The "Lower Tidmarsh Volunteer Fire Brigade" and "SuperTeach" sketches are still some of my favorite comedy bits of all time. Benny Hill, Bob Todd, and Little Jacky Wright all played so many hilarious characters which I still remember to this day, and they were my absolute favorite actors from that show.
Your mom is so lovely! There’s not much interest in the royals here unless there’s a big scandal or a tv show or something. But, that being said, everyone loved Diana.
The first time I ever saw Benny Hill was in the mid 70s to late 70s on late night TV in America. I was between 10 and 12 years old at the time. Betty Hill has always been one of my favorite shows.
My son-in-law last name is Steptoe. He is a direct decent of Ann Steptoe who was married to George Washington Brother Samuel Walter Washington. They had a son named George Steptoe Washington and he is buried in Augusta, Georgia. My son in law is related to General Robert E. Lee. Robert E. Lee was related to George Washington through his wife Mary Anna Custis, who was the great-granddaughter of George Washington's wife Martha. Lee's eldest son, George Washington Custis Lee, was also a Confederate general in the American Civil War.
(from Michigan USA) I loved Princess Dianna too. I was 10 when she married Prince Charles and got up really, really early in the morning because of time zone difference and watched the whole wedding. It was magical. She seemed to be a fresh air in the royal family and was fun and witty. She was so graceful and elegant. i was very sad when Prince Charles started cheating on her and it seems then that she started cheating and then the terrible car wreck. My heart hurt for William and Harry. And it's sad now to see how Harry has fallen away into trouble. I think Kate is similar to Princess Diana in that she has an air of being down to earth and has such poise and grace. I'm glad William married her and I hope he does not follow in his father's footsteps.
Your mom is the first person reacting that caught the Benny Hill joke that I've seen. I used to watch him all the time in the eighties. peace from Central Texas.
Benny Hill Show was funny as shit lol. watched it all as well.
A person of a certain age watched Benny Hill. I watched it. Today's generation is too sensitive.
A lot of people in the U.S where obsessed with Princess Diana. In the TV show night court one of the characters was obsessed with her and Prince Charles.
I used to love watching Bennie Hill!
I also loved watching "Are you being served". Hilarious British comedy 😂
There's an ice cream shop here in San Francisco named Humphry Slocombe after Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Slocombe from "Are You Bring Served?"
LOVED "Are You Being Served"!!!
I think they called it Grace and Favor. Because they worked at Grace Brothers department store.
I loved Diana. She was always so kind to everyone. She would go visit the children etc. Such a sweet and caring person.
The part where they're loudly clearing their throats reminds me of something that would be on Monty Python. 🤣
I still remember when I heard that Princess Diana had died. My friends and I were at a lively sports bar when the news came thru during a commercial break. I’m from Texas and I loved Benny Hill when I was a kid! Yes, it was on American TV back in the day
It was more popular in the US than in the UK. It got cancelled because it was seen as sexist.
Benny Hill did visit the U.S. to do shows as well. In NY, he did a couple of 3 stooges acts in a park scene with the robber.
I've never seen Steptoe and Son, but I used to watch the American show based on it called Sanford and Son back in the 1970's and Redd Foxx was a riot! BTW James, you may like Benny Hill but you will love Hill's Angels!

I love how they have Stewie a Southern US accent in that second-to-last clip. In the US, he usually has a British accent.

Everyone is fair game on Family Guy.
Loved Benny Hill. And Ma'am...you were correct. Diana was an incredible person. Greetings from Michigan!
Over here in the states , back in the 80's & 90's , Benny Hill was on late at night. Some years ago I got a hold of 10 VHS tapes "The Best of Benny Hill". And still have them to this day.
"Steptoe & Son' became 'Sanford & Son' in US.
I was just about to say that
Princess Diana was a wonderful gift to humanity! She was loved by most!
I remember watching princess Dianas wedding when i was a kid. Diana was wonderful
Please have mum on more often! Sometimes it’s nice watching a reaction with someone closer to my age who gets the jokes straight away.
Princess Di was loved over here as well, especially during the 80s. Arguably more popular than the last few presidents
Yep, everyone here loved Princess Diana. We all were glued to our TVs when the crash happened, and when the funeral took place. Weeping like crazy.
Princess Diana was super popular in America. When she died she was on the cover of every magazine for a minute.
Diana's still loved and missed everywhere
We loved her in the USA too. I was just a teen. She ended up doing so much for the world. I LOVE Benny Hill!!!
I'm a 46 year old guy from California. I grew up watching Princess Diana on TV, we loved her, too.
I also grew up on Benny Hill...my parents were oddly OK with me watching.

Love your Mom.
I loved Steptoe and Son! Also grew up with Benny Hill. Oh, Hill’s Angels in my adolescent years… Love from South Texas.
The world loved princess Diana
Me-Gain on the other hand, not so much.
@@darkzer0670you can say "Meghan", it's alright.
Never gave two shits about dumb "royalty" in another country.
Even the Middle East?
@@Godless-Being yes
Loved Benny Hill! He was my introduction to British humor and I've been hooked ever since.
7:36 Americans love Princess Diana very much.
Yes indeed. I was only seven when she died, yet I vividly remember watching the coverage, and my mother’s deep sadness over the tragic loss.
Yes she was so loved 🥰 Princess Diana was the first royal person I ever paid attention to.
2:46 for those of you curious Steptoe and Son is the British version of Sanford and Son.
“Steptoe and Son” is one of the greatest sitcoms ever! Wilfrid Brambell and Harry Corbett were extraordinary actors, and the show successfully presented the human condition.... with a smile.
✨🌞✨
Yes, Princess Diana was LOVED in America as well!

Benny hill was very popular in usa
I remember that day very well. Here in the US, it was a major event. Very sad what happened to the people's princess.
Princess Diana's death was one of those days you remember exactly where you were when you heard the news. Quite a shock not only to the UK, but to the world.
American parody. U. S. here, but a bit harsh though this is the style at times from Family Guy series. Love you Brits! 🇺🇸🇬🇧
She has lovely eyes.
Benny Hill on every Saturday night here in USA still, love it for 40 years still
Finally more family guy keep reacting to them
The four best British imports to the US in order are 1) Led Zepplin, Monty Python, Benny Hill, and Marmite! You look great Mum!
Benny Hill was a comedy legend 😂 Loved his show.
America adored Princess Diane. She visited us several times. I personally saw her in Galveston TX.
I think everyone loved princess Diana.
Mum videos are classic.
I was maybe 6 or 7 when it happened and I swear her death seemed like a HUGE deal even more so than the death of the queen in recent years. Obviously that is subjective.
Seemed like the generations before me LOVED her though.

I was 15 when she died. It was all over the news for a good while. The US loved Princess Diana.
I remember when Princess Diana died, the TV covered it for weeks and weeks afterward here in the United States. It was so sad!
Adorable Mum 🙏
They used to air The Benny Hill Show on late-night TV here in the US. My dad would record it, and my brother and I used to sneak and watch it. Americans loved diana. Everyone watched her funeral and was very solemn when she left us. We all know when &where we heard of her passing😢❤
Diana is one of the few world figures I had even a modicum of respect for.
I think everyone love Princess Diana.
I’m American and we love Family Guy. Nobody is safe from their humor..
Yeah, i was just a delinquent kid, but everyone loved Princess Diana
Your mom is so lovely! There’s not much interest in the royals here unless there’s a big scandal or a tv show or something. But, that being said, everyone loved Diana.
We love Diana and the queen rest of them not even on our radar
I always love Princess D
Grew up with Benny Hill as my dad was a big fan of the show.
Not much will ever match the magic that is The Benny Hill Show.
Lady Di was very loved in the US.
Great ep
Yeah, for some reason a lot of people loved princess Diana in the US
My wife adored Princess Diana. She watched every second of her wedding. She cried hard when the news come out she was killed.
Mum's right you must watch Benny Hill, it's hilarious 😂
We love/loved Diana!
I’m sure it doesn’t need to be said already that the entire world loved princess diana and hoped one day that she would be the queen
Benny Hill is a comedy show icon here in the US.
I always remember Princess Diana as being well liked in America
Funny how instead of British accent Stewie had a southern American accent while the rest had British accents.
The first time I ever saw Benny Hill was in the mid 70s to late 70s on late night TV in America. I was between 10 and 12 years old at the time. Betty Hill has always been one of my favorite shows.
Love Princess Diana 💛

Your mom and I get a lot of the same references even with the Atlantic Ocean and most of the North American continent separating us.
I’ve never met an American who didn’t love Princess Diana.
I’ve never watched the Simpsons or Family Guy so this is a first for me too.
We Americans definitely love Princess Diana also❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You have a sweet mom.
🇺🇸 loved Princess Diana
I was a kid when she died. She seemed really nice
Your mum is awesome.
The teeth is the best 😂
I was not allowed to watch Benny Hill because of how dirty his show could be. I did anyway.
The joke about the play at 2:50 is they're speaking exclusively in British slang terms. Likely nonsensical ones but how would we know.
I Love Benny Hill ❤❤❤
Mrs B you are a stunner.
Loved Monty Pythons,Ab Fab 8:34 patsy and Eddie.were my favorite, both shows.
Your mom is right. People loved Diana. She was the peoples princess.
(from Michigan USA) I loved Princess Dianna too. I was 10 when she married Prince Charles and got up really, really early in the morning because of time zone difference and watched the whole wedding. Most people in Canada liked Princess Dianna.
Benny Hill was a funny funny show. I have a dvd of a couple of his shows.
I think most of America loved princess Diana
