      I love we have a minimum of 3 different types of Kinsects to play around, each with their own pros and cons at endgame fr, really disliked how all the previous games with IG had that one Kinsect that completely decimates all the competition and immediately made you feel bad if you choose to not use it.

    • @hydeoutgaming

      It's honestly depressing watching the downfall of IG damage-wise from 4U to Sunbreak, as it keeps this constant feeling of "man this weapon is so fun but it does no damage" constantly at the back of you mind if you play other weapons.
      At this point my only wish for the future is that they might as well commit to this recent version in Sunbreak and begin buffing the Aerial playstyle to the point where is actually truly equal, if not, slightly stronger than Grounded, with how many BS vertical hitboxes they added to monster in the 5th Gen (and specially in Sunbreak) I fail to see why they are still afraid of that.

  • @aam2457
    @aam2457 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Maybe it's just me but I never felt IG was particularly weak.
    Like yeah it's not as good as optimal SnS but it's so much safer and more consistent plus aerial lets you avoid like 80% of monsters pretty easily so it's a trade off

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      My expectations of IG MIGHT be compromised with memories of how busted it was back when it debuted in MH4U, but I still stand that they could've done so much more for it in Sunbreak to make it better, not so much on the damage department, but on the QoL department.
      There is this one mod I played around with for a bit, that along some other minor changes, allows you to skill swap in the air with IG, with an added interaction with the Redirection lvl2 skill that gives you an extra jump as long as you keep triggering Redirection in the air, that particular interaction really made me realize how much more they could've done for IG to go all out with the craziness of Sunbreak.
      Cuz like, sure, we got the Power Vortex playstyle that is fun, unique and even pretty strong at times, but is so ass for casual playstyle + multiplayer hunts it's hard to not think on stuff like this. 😭

  • @Urkikk

    It's worth noting that IG during progression and IG endgame don't play the same way due to scaling, what you have, and match up.
    For examples:
    Assist Kinsect is entirely pointless before late Sunbreak, due to match up, sharpness economy, prevent it damage from catching up compared to Powder type. Use Powder Kinsect type will be more consistent while giving the same if not better results. Especially due to Assist Kinsect's dependent on sharpness for ground combo before having Mind's Eye. It take around post-Amatsu with Supercharge deco for Assist type to have viable damage, or perhap post-Awakened Kinsect Attack which is something I think worth experimenting a bit.
    Similar case with Kinsect Slash, due to stamina consumption and being slower and cover less distance, it's too much cost for little reward, even with Diving Wyvern which by itself is already a gamble in practice. You'll have better time and flexibility with Jumping Advancing Slash and Recall Kinsect Silkbind.
    Also Advancing Roundslash is almost entirely useless in entire progression due to sharpness cost, and IG already has a better gap closers, and due to IG being a close-range melee, it's prone to putting you out of position than being useful, IG already can have full uptime even without it as well, so timing for Roundslash alone can lead to a lot of dps loss.

    • @Urkikk
      @Urkikk 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can say this because I been testing and running a few new playthroughs with IG in Rise Sunbreak, if we take the video's guide right away, it will lead to painful experiences.

    Hey man is power prolonged not a thing in rise? Noticed it was not in this build.

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If i'm honest with you, Power Prolonger has never been a thing for Insect Glaive, getting an extra ~35 secs on your triple buff uptime for 3 Skill points is not really worth it when Insect Glaive really needs as much damage as it can fit.
      Especially when you consider how easy it is to work around it with the Dual Color Kinsect letting you get the buff in two extracts, or one extract and a Kinsect Slash, and the Booster Powder ones allowing you to straight up potentially keep the buff indefinitely all together.
      Power Prolonger has always come off as a skill that if it comes like, as a 2nd skill in Talisman with another more useful skill and slots, or as part of the armor pieces you are using, is a nice bonus, but is not worth going out of your way to put it in your build with like augments or decorations.

      It's a combination of two mods, one is "Hard or Soft" that lets you modify stuff like: Size, Color, show crits (the ! at the end of the number), along other options, the other is a Font mod to replace the in-game font with Genshin Impact's font, but that last one got yeeted off Nexusmods due to a copyright claim or something like that and I'm not sure if its available anywhere else.

    disagree about advancing roundslash over leaping slash, i think advancing roundslash have a pretty bad damage and his counter sucks and if orange + white buff you don't even need this counter just use vault and ignore roar or dodge the monster attacks, leaping slash make possible to use fast teatreseal slash on short opening making it waaay superior.

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      While is great to disagree and play how you want and perform better with, there are a lot of disagreements i have in your view of Advancing Roundslash, for starters, Advancing Roundslash has actually similar base DMG to Leaping Slash at 10-10-26 MV for the whole move compared to Leaping Slash 26 MV, meaning a full Roundslash ends up doing more DMG (specially with Elemental builds) if it lands entirely on a weakzone, but at the same time Leaping Slash being more spamable keeps them close and if anything better for Raw builds.
      The other point that is "useless" because you can always dodge, having only evades for defensive moves, while my favorite aspect of the weapon, is one of the few reasons why IG is one of the weakest weapons in Sunbreak, the lack of a big damage counter/hyper armor move that almost every other weapon received with the expansion is why aggression is key for IG, giving up your only move that can answer charging monsters, big AoE's or moves with enough lingering hitboxes that even with Evade Window 5 are hard to evade consistently, for a 3rd shortcut to Tetraseal Slash when Diving Wyvern > Tetraseal Slash and Rising Slash > Tetraseal Slash are already a thing is, at least for me, kinda redundant.
      Again, i don't disagree with your take and i see where is coming from, in fact along other comments it makes me realize that i simply made a mistake by cutting the full Switch Skill/Silkbind Move section and leaving only my recommendations in this final cut of my guide.

    • @saiter6010
      @saiter6010 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hydeoutgaming Yes fair point and ty for the response. IG really misses the BIG COUNTER DAMAGE that every other weapon have, i hope for the next game that IG receive more love, i mean kinsect slash it's great and tetraseal is good but i think having to stay still on it's animation gets old fast, at least tornado slash you can stay mobile as i see for my self the playstyle for the IG, it's the most mobile weapon afters DB i think(i don't know with we can say that SnS is faster than IG), but yea that's my little complain about the actual IG.
      By the way great video.

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, my favorite thing about IG is how it relies on proper evasion to keep combos going and positioning to punish with moves like Diving Wyvern instead of relying on a counter every time is available, like it used to be in literally all the previous games, but Sunbreak push for the counter spam playstyle reflects on how poorly IG performs overall in the game, the fact that our biggest damage moves require so much setup for just good damage with Diving Wyvern requiring 3 jump attacks or 1 successful Advancing Roundslash counter + 2 jump attack AND land on a good weakzone to deliver and Powder Vortex Explosion being an overall nightmare to setup against monsters that spam AoE on themselves or repositiong a lot is mildly infuriating to say the least.
      My wishlist for the next game would be to give IG s in some moves to keep you grounded and keep aggression going, Dodge Slash having 0 s despite having "Dodge" in the name will always feel wrong, and in fact, having played with a Mod that does give s to that move, i can tell you is definitely the direction i would love IG to take.
      And also give it back a little bit of it's MH4U scalings that it currently misses so much. 🤣

  • @NuageMH
    @NuageMH ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey there, thanks for your great guide ! I had a question about stamina management as I'm progressing through the story and actually at MR3 right now, I often run out while doing the aerial dashes before getting my third hit and getting the time to do the diving move, are the skills that allow you to dash through the air without using any stamina (almost) endgames skills ? I guess I could just use dash juices and constitution for the moment but I thought I could still ask.

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I personally wouldn't bother with Stamina management while progressing through the game, instead I can give you a couple of gameplay tips to deal with the situation:
      1. Try and learn how to use the counter from Advancing Round Slash, as I mentioned in this guide, using that counter successfully not only blocks damage and put you into the air, it also instantly counts as the 1st of your three aerial attacks to make your Diving Wyvern do max damage, you don't need to force yourself to use it everywhere, but easy opening like roars and projectiles should always be good windows to use the move.
      2. Use at least one Silkbind Vault during your aerial combos, either, as your first move to get off the ground, or while in the air for reposition, remember this move costs one Wirebug but 0 Stamina to use, so as long as you still have the remaining Wirebug for the Diving Wyvern don't be afraid to use this move as much as you can.
      3. Don't hyper focus on the fully charged Diving Wyvern, A problem a lot of us IG players tend to adapt consciously or not, is the idea that we have to go for a fully charged Diving Wyvern or nothing to end our aerial combos, this is not the case, most of the time, if anything, is better to commit to a semi-charged one (only two aerial attacks into Diving Wyvern) than trying to force the full one, only to either run out of Stamina, get hit back in the landing process because we are forcing, or straight up missing after such commitment, save the fully charged one for really good opening or when you learn a monster moveset better, and instead focus on a mix of ground combos/poke and semi-charged Diving Wyverns, you'll be surprised how consistent hunts can get with this mindset.

    • @NuageMH
      @NuageMH ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for all your tips, you're a king🧎
      I'll be sure to apply your tips to my gameplay, this weapon has such a big skill celling compared to MHWI which I already liked a lot.@@hydeoutgaming

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah the guide is taking into account all updates, which is the reason why I chose to leave that one out.
      The Amatsu IG has great Raw but pretty low Element compared to Ludroth's IG, making Ludroth the better one for Elemental damage.
      Couple that with the fact that Amatsu IG biggest strength outside its Raw Atk is the passive "Silkbind Boost" that all Amatsu weapons get, makes it less of an Elemental weapon and more of a Raw option where you want to be spamming your Diving Wyvern to take advantage of the high Raw and Silkbind Boost, as opposed to Elemental builds where you want to spam your Tetraseal Slash as much as possible.

    For the heaven sent builds, why not use max might ?

    • @hydeoutgaming
      @hydeoutgaming  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Like any other Heaven-sent/Berserk-Strife based build, you can totally use Max Might to abuse the Inf. Stamina for a more "efficient" way to cap Affinity without relying on other skills, but I choose to ignore it for this guide for two reasons:
      1. The guide is aimed at people trying the weapon for a first time, so recommending a skill that relies on you not getting hit often kinda clashes with that, cuz is one thing losing the Stamina and Sharpness buffs from Heaven-sent for 15 secs every time that happens, but adding a portion of your Affinity to that mix is just to punishing.
      2. Personal preference, unless you are a speedrunner who's scripting a fight so that it goes perfect or as close to perfect as possible, on regular hunts you are getting hit regularly on IG specially if you go for aerial moves (Diving Wyvern recovery animation is a b*tch).
      So again, while the synergy of Heaven-sent and Max Might is there on paper, in practice is a little bit more complicated for IG, but don't let these opinions stop you tho, if you want to go for it, go for it, at the end of the day, if you are good enough to don't get hit that often, or you play almost or fully grounded IG where is easier to not get hit, you can definitely make it work.

      So if you are looking to avoid Bloodlust to play with 0 HP drain skills, your best bet is changing that with the Primordial Malzeno coil, the deco slots on that piece on top of giving you an extra level of Crit Boost you can now sacrifice from any of your armor pieces with that skill for better skills/slots (I would personally use the Slot+ augment option on the Amatsu legs to sacrifice one lvl of Crit Boost for two deco slots, so you can slot in one of the Weakness Exploit lvl's you are losing with this change).
      Doing this and compensating the missing Weakness Exploit on the build with decorations or your talisman, you'll end up with the same build, minus both Bloodlust skills and gain two lvl's of Burst instead, which is a good trade-off.
      Of course, you end up with the issue of no longer having access to 100% affinity, but you can patch this up by getting the last lvl of Crit Eye for a total of 90% affinity or using a Palico with the support move Rousing Roar (+30% affinity for 2:30 mins.)

    This is a pretty poor guide. Not because of the information, I don't know much about IG, which is why I here, but because of how you give the information. There is so much wasted time and words on nothing and poor attempts at humor. It's so obnoxious when guides are like, "This is a thing for this but I'm not going to tell you now, I'll explain later in the guide." Which is pointless, just don't mention it now at all and mention it later. Then there's typos and punctuation error on the guide itself, take a few minutes and proofread the text.
    This entire guide could be probably 30% of the time if you removed all your pointless mumbling and focused on information.
