I'm so glad you liked the Log Cabin with stars idea! Experimenting is such a fun part of the creative process, and I’m excited to see what you come up with!
OH! I just LOVE the seahorse pattern, do you have instructions or a video on exactly how to do that? I am live by the ocean in California and I am obsessed with anything to do with the beach, so I will definitely be interested in figuring out this pattern. Looks like some of the center blocks are a bit off center? Where can I get clear instructions? Thanks!
Yes I do! "Log Cabins in the Round Designs" is the book, but it's really old. If you can't find it let me know I will do a video on the process to get those lovely curves.
If I did this block I would use a scrappy centre such as four patch, a quater square triangle, or an appliqued circle or other motif to break up the strong linear lines. Instead of using the one fabric for each of the four step areas, I will substitute it with scraps of the same or similar color to reduce the strong glare of the single fabric choice. Thank you very much sharing your ideas.
Those are all great ideas for the Court House steps block. I plan on using this as a background fabric with circle elements on the top. Working my way through this.
I love your Log Cabin with stars idea. Thanks for the encouragement to play and experiment and figure ideas out practically.

That log cabin block at the beginning with the applique is just beautiful. Thank you for the video!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled you liked the log cabin block-it's one of my favorites too!

So happy you liked it.
Instead of doing the “Y” seam on that log cabin block, would it work if you used HSTs on the ends of the long strips and a solid corner square?
Yes that would work, I am just try different things to see what can work.
Instead of y seam ...use flying geese method on end of strips
Thank you for the suggestion! I love learning new techniques, and the flying geese method sounds like a fantastic alternative!
