The 8mm bolt that holds the little bracket doesn't go into a hollow section, you can leave it off, just clean the threads out if you were to reuse it for some reason in the future. You can put your head in there and see it.
Thank you for the comment. I hope you get it in a reasonable time. I've been waiting since I bought mine for FMF Q4 mufflers to be back in stock. COVID really killed availability. Its worth waiting for. You will like it. .
I saw a friend of mine back in the 70s wheelie over a mile all the way down the Street down a great big huge hill and around the corner all on the street I never thought it was possible on his 250 Suzuki so I started practicing and was doing the same exact thing the key to it though you have to stand up if you start to flip over sit down on the seat and the bike will come down if you sit down and wheelie and start to flip you will definitely flip unless you are able to hit the back brake
I used to be able to wheelie as far as I wanted to ride on my old Honda 250R 3 wheeler. The key is working the throttle and back brake to stay in the balance point. The problem I have on a motorcycle is 1: Fear, 2: Inability to commit to enough throttle to get to the balance point be cause of #1, and 3 side to side balance.
Nice video. I have a 2021 450 rl and when I put it in gear, it dies. Kickstand is up. Bike is warmed up. Plug is not fouled. About 1100 miles on it. Did the same thing a few months back a couple times, then no issues until recently. Kickstand sensor related?
Huge help thanks. I am having an issue where the bike is cutting off while I’m riding trails and I think it’s because of the kick stand switch. I’m going to take it off tomorrow and see if that solves it!
After soldering, did you slice the shrink wrap and then heat it to make the seal? I have never understood how to use shrink wrap without threading it on the connection first. Thanks
Hey there great vidz, my 2019 crf 450rl stalls out the second I put into gear, but runs perfect still but won’t go at all, plz say u know what’s going on, can u please help me sir..
There are a few possibilities. Primary suspect would be the kick stand switch. If you put it in gear with the kick stand down, it will shut off immediately. If the switch is bad or out of adjustment, that could be the culprit. I have a video on how to bypass that switch. Other than that, I'd suspect a low idle speed and dragging clutch? PM me if you need help with it. I'm happy to get on a video call with you and see if we can diagnose it. Ride safe.
Both have their positives and negatives. For my purposes, I love my CRF 450L. Its heaver than the WR and not as capable as far as motocross style riding. The trade off is that the CRF is street legal from the factory and has a 6 speed gear box. Having had the WR and a much heavier KLR650, the CRF 450L is the sweet spot for me as far as weight vs power vs suspension vs trail vs on-road capability. Thats me though. It's definitely not a one size fits all conversation. I think it takes a person several evolutions of bikes to find the one that works best for them. Best wishes. Ride Safe.
New to your channel. I like the few I have seen. I didn't know bikes now have so many safety switches. To stop you from starting the bike in gear.

Great job....waiting on my 21 model to show up.

I bet thats it. Hope it works.
I meant to reply back earlier! That was definitely the problem. Thanks so much for videos. They have been very helpful.
Honda CRF250L when side stand up 1st gear engage clutch pull in. engine cannot start. Side Stand up free gear than can start, is that normal.
I have an AiM tune now… and still have a mph limit!? I’m geared for higher too…. Any ideas?
Going great mate Really enjoying your content and channel
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Thank you. Great video!!!
Thank you very much!

I slid it on first and around to one side till I got it soldered.

Is your CRF450L any better than your 2014 WR450 with the street legal kit?

@@ufixit Good point, one size doesn't fit all.
Nice job!
Thank you for the comment.
Why did you delete the kickstand switch?
Lol I figured it out. Good content
Sorry for the slow reply. I felt it was unnecessary and a point of potential failure while out on the trail.
My wire broke by the side stand can I splice it together at that location
I would think so. As long as its the same wire, it shouldn’t matter where you splice it.
I did this and now my brake light stays on and the bike dies with the kickstand in either position
That's strange. The kickstand switch has no connection to the brake light. Wrong wire maybe? Hard to diagnose without being able to see it.
