    I love that they put the R in there to let people know they aren’t like the 250L. This is a dirtbike that happens to be streetlegal.

  • @Mr.G399
    @Mr.G399 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I had a 350 EXC before the 450L. The 450L ran fine stock and runs better with these mods. The 450L is much better on the street - smoother and 6th gear is much higher. And you get Honda reliability. If you want a race bike get something else. If you want a dual-sport that will go anywhere and last forever get the 450L.

    • @davidsalo8397
      @davidsalo8397 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. My 350 EXC is buzzy on the road. But great off road. It does appear that the 450L is pretty jam packed under the seat. The exc is easier to work on.

      @@davidsalo8397 oh yeah… considering I think it’s something like half of all emissions come from ships, motorcycles specifically dirt bikes are a fraction of a fraction. Government just likes to be a PITA because it’s what they do best.

    A stock 2019+ 450x header will fit with the fmf slip on as it was designed for the 450x motor, which is the same motor in the RL. Same cam, piston...etc. But the “R”L is corked from the factory for street. I still say they should have called it a XL. Looking forward to future comparisons as I haven’t gotten to ride any of the competitors bikes

    • @-PlayMaker-
      @-PlayMaker- 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@jimsnider3971 it makes thw bike breath better and it does make more power without the screen. Although if your an average weekend rider I wouldn't take the risk just in case.
      In order for it to backfire bad enough to cause fire you would have to be running extremely lean and most likely in a motocross situation. Full throttle to no throttle in a split second to cause a backfire.
      They have fireproof oil and filters, twin air makes the filters and I think motorek has fire proof oil. There's a bunch of brands that are fireproof though just gotta look em up.
      I left mine in on my 450l for piece of mind. Its not a race bike, it's a trail bike, power isn't everything on a trail bike and I'm not trying to risk a fire and be left stranded lol.
      Very low chance of it happening though, like extremely low, especially with fireproof stuff. But the gains are their if you want them bad enough

      The exc's require the same mods for them to run correctly, too. EPA applies to all dual sports, except Beta. Import of Beta bikes is limited, allowing them an exemption for EPA standards.

      Email me questions-- But 2.15 is std for all big bikes and all you need-- some racers would run in SX to get more contact on the ground-- You dont need it--

    Just gotta say. For costing over $10k, if you can find one, Honda really screwed people over with this bike. It'll cost you over $2000 for an ECU and full exhaust just to fix the crap performance of this bike, constantly flame outs when lugged. At that point might as well go with a KTM for less money.

      I sort of agree... Truth is though mods are an addiction and after the GET and end cap for my exhaust, Rekluse, Scotts damper, Seat Concepts seat, Acerbis tank, Tubliss and other stuff I dunno about less money lol. You can't put a price on happiness and a well set up bike though so I am happy for sure.

      @@jasminebebe3455 seats, tank, tubliss, clutch are all things that make riding more enjoyable. The CRF450L needs an ECU and exhaust just to be able to ride tight, technical, lugging terrain without flame out. Which, in my mind, is a repair. Cause that shit is broken fresh off the showroom floor. Something two of my friends have dealt with on their 450L's, while my bone stock 350 EXCF hasn't flamed out once.

      @@riccochet704 stop comparing apples to oranges man. The the Crf450L was built exactly as intended. Yes I agree the off idle fueling is choppy and flames but easily fixed with a $250 dollar tuner, have one myself, the JD tuner is not perfect but less invasive and I can easily crawl in the tight single-track no issues. Not sure why people go buying a "dualsport" and expect a race bike.....the L and RL is a stellar bike, lower compression piston, different cam and tune as intended. No not as high performance but will easily out last any others in reliability and longevity and ride like a champ down the road . Also have a 500exc in the garage, yes its a monster as expected BUT is is also choked up and flames out bad in stock form. Mods also needed to correct that. Close $2k to get all the potential out of it .

      I am getting rid of my 350 exc and going with a Honda 450L. The 350 exc really isn't a dual sport. It's horrible on the pavement. Plus, I'm tired of all the nit picky problems that exc's have.

      That’s just the way the industry is moving really. Nicely engineered, just extra crap on it for emissions. The xr650l’s have been like that forever. The racing bikes are good to go from the factory..
