That 5spd will be a good truck for 6k. The 5spd is a NV4500, really good transmission, we swapped it into one of our first gens and put about 500,000 miles, ran good. The nv4500 along with that p-pumped 12 vale is a pretty good truck I think, you’ll be able to make power and not worry about your trans. That 6.7 powerstroke only gets 16mpg on the highway? My uncle’s got a ‘16 6.7 Cummins and it get around 21 usually.
Nice truck ! Really comes down to price and the paperwork to verify the recent work done... don't really think you can go wrong with it..was curious what transmission it was running? I would guess more along 600 hp on that truck. I live in South Carolina and a clean 12 valve is hard to find ! That truck here would have never made it to a dealership.
Love that you are hanging out with your Grandpa!!! I miss mine and he was cool like yours. You cannot replace times with Grandpa with anything. Good for you and love the vid. I love your white truck!!!
Best comment on here what I would do to spend another day with my papa we'd probably do the exact thing y'all did but start the day at Petro drinkin coffee then have lunch at a hole in the wall cafe that you can still smoke in
When you said you were going to Ohio I never expected you would be in my neck of the woods. Weekley's is a terrific dealer and service department. I would recommend the 2nd gen with the manual transmission. I got a 2001 24v 6 speed manual 4x4, quad cab, 8' bed. Love the truck. Like the channel. Keep it up.
Well considering u put a set of studs and go through the bottem compound turbo it a sat of 150% sticks and a fuel pump from a 8.3 cummins will put u around 12-1300hp and u can swap to a 24v head for throttle response yea there is a way to make 2000 on a stock block but it aint easy as people think
Spoiler alert there's no way that truck was pushing over 2000 hp I get the whole clickbait deal but that's to much. Btw that 12 valve block wouldnt hold 2000 hp for the haters
LOUD 'N' PROUD thats cool man its cool to,see ur channel progress just being someone thats built sprint car engines its hard to,believe but I gotcha I like your channel and have been here since 3k
LOUD 'N' PROUD hey man keep up the good work your a good guy I can tell make sure to keep the builds as clean as possible I'm sure u watch Greg A who knows A Lot learn from him your doing good though
Make sure if you're a hater you just stop in to drop that dislike then leave real quick like you always do!🤙🤙😂 To the true fam, thanks for 20k!!! And thanks for watching! 🔥🔥🔥 Also, don't everyone go freaking out if you don't see it possible for that truck to be 2,000 hp... that's just what I was told and he had all the documents for it... don't shoot the messenger lol.
Tristen A I'm gonna run it by my dad and see what he says. That's why I'm not passing out info or that guy will get spammed with not serious buyers.... he said he's sick of countless people messing with him on it and no one going through with a purchase...
LOUD 'N' PROUD yeah I don’t mess around so message me if your not going to buy it and where it’s at, if it’s clean and built decent with good parts then I’m going to
I think the dually 12 valve would be your best bet between the two for one it needs no body work at all on it plus it looks like you could have some fun with it at the track and it’s already had a lot of work done under the hood so your not having to dump a crap load of money in to it to be able to have a VERY, VERY NICE all around do anything kinda rig and i do have to say that i personally would buy the truck my self if i could…. So that being said i would definitely be a buyer of the black one if i were you! Thank you for letting me comment on your video i enjoyed it a lot and thought that you did very well in your content and your filming of it.
I think that would be a smart idea Nick bud, I absolutely love the dually but would like to see the regular cab 12 valve two. Could you get some video of that when you go back to the car lot please but I would love to see you get either one of them trucks. Catch you on the next one Nick buddy
I have a 97 5.2 V8 318 dodge Dakota it's an amazing truck we never have ANY problems with it the only thing wrong is the Differential seal leaks a little but other then that she just 280k today and she's doing great
Jared Hermans they are great and the get pretty good fuel mileage. I just have a handful of reasons why I prefer the first gen. One reason is they’re fully mechanical and there is no computer controlling anything so that means a lot of performance tuning is basically turn bolt or part swapping. Also I like the square body dodge. If you wanted to do a Cummins swap on something, it’s much easier to do with a first gen.
My dad used to have a truck the same model and everything as that black 12v dodge, extended cab long bed except his was a red 2001 model I miss that ol' truck 😥
Hey dude congrats on 20k you're a humble guy and I have respect for you if you're ever in Texas let me know you can come to our truck meet god bless man 👍
That dually is sweet! Only thing I would change .....I would want a manual transmission. Excellent video as always! Tell gramp I said hi! He is a cool cat!
That's is at Ross Premier in mount Vernon Ohio. The truck is at 1875 hp to the wheels. Extremely clean and was a local trade in the have sold it. With the build sheet as well
I'm liking the dually! although there is one thing I don't like about it and that is the front end doesn't have the dually wheels/spacers, nice truck tho. I'm a fan of duallys. I own two and I really don't need them I think they just look mean.
Can you just block any haters? People can be rude, but as for me I appreciate you taking the time to do this so when I am building mine I know what to do and how to do it. Thanks for that? Did you mention how much the dually was?
+LOUD ‘N’ PROUD I love the Single Cab 3500 in White better than Black I love the 3500 SLT Regular Cab with the 6.7L High Output Cummins Diesel with the AISIN 6 speed Automatic Single Rear Wheel
Cool video. I'm sure you know already but it's extremely unlikely that motor is making in the ballpark of 2000 horse. Similar setups without nitrous have made well over 1000. I think the dealer just pulled a random number out of the air when telling you that. Though I'm sure the truck is no slouch. That hard start and cloud of black smoke makes me think it had a huge set of injectors in it, since the grid heater appeared to still be installed. Cool find either way thanks for sharing
Trace Fuqua yes... of course it's got big injectors lol it's built to the max for hp! Haha... and whether it makes 2,000 hp or not lol doesn't bother me... just what I was told by the guy
Would have to be a billet block to hold 12k plus I can hear that it’s a stock cam. Maybe 900 with the nitrous 700 without. Trust me, I own X2 - 4th gen dodges each with over 800 hp and have around $100k in mods on each of them. That said I would buy that dually quick for $20-25k
I'm thinking a set of huge injectors and a leak back problem is probably to blame for the hard smokey start. But I agree up in Indiana is be Leary of trying to daily drive that truck even with the grid heater intact. Since there was nitrous on the motor at one time I'm sure the tops of the pistons have been shaved, thus lowering compression and making starting more difficult. I wouldn't be surprised if the previous owner ethered it to get it going on cold days.
I would get the regular cab it will give you lots of content off of it ....the dually is very nice but every things all already been done to it already and you didn't touch a thing I would like to be able to say that I did all those modes myself and you'll love the truck a whole lot more if you put all the blood sweat and tears into it
Ryan Whitman yeah I wasn't gonna buy that dually built anyhow... just thought it could be a good one for dad as a farm rig if we got rid of the 7.3 or something
They have the same 68rfe automatic as all the later years lol, stop pretending you know what you're talking about. G56 for the manuals, and Allison trans for the 3500 models.
I have worked for a used car lot that deals in mostly diesel truck and most are ragged cause the detail shop does a great job. Diesel's are dirty plain and simple.... If it ain't leaking it ain't running
Hey really like the video, ive been looking to buy my first car and was wondering if i should get a diesel, i heard theyre expensive to fix and i was wondering fit that is true. thanks
Dude your dad is Kenny Rogers wow that's cool LOL and btw the engine smokes when it starts up because the engine is cold and the fuel is cold therefor the fuel doesn't burn up entirely also considering the type of person that probably owned it before more than likely cranked up the fuel pressure
my dads old truck looked the same but my dads was a 98 12valve dually 4x4 5 speed painted metallic black cowl induction hood made around 400hp and 750lb to the wheels . man i wish he didn’t sell it
hahaha buy it. just have a large maintenance fund handy and you will have a blast. I'm pretty sure it's sitting on that lot for the same reason you will enjoy it until it needs a repair.
I wouldn't touch that Dually even if it was cheaper then any other truck you looked at all day man! Treat that thing like a sleeping bear, just poke it to hear it growl alive then turn around and run away as fast as you can!! Sure it's badass to look at, but all you'd be doing is getting yourself into someone else's huge expensive bag of mess! It's way, way, way to modified to mess with or to try and drive on the street everyday! Then as soon as the first thing breaks which it will (and I mean like as soon as you blink it'll break) you'll rip your hair out trying to figure out EVERYTHING that's been done to the truck then what goes where, what wire mess goes to what! The more you learn about the truck the longer the repair list will get to add on or fix! I'm not saying it's a bad thing to build a truck like that, BUT as long as you do it or you're there knowing what's going on it, what's being done and what's being neglected, all the wiring is clean and labeled or at least to you, what the trans build is, what the internals of that motor looks like, ECT,ECT,ECT!! Just way to many unanswered questions to mess with that! I wouldn't lay a finger on it unless there's video and picture proof cause anyone can make up build sheets and receipts so don't fall for any of that jazz! Buy stock and build it the way you want that way you know every inch of that build and can fix whatever you touch with ease, and you could actually answer people's questions on the truck! Sorry for the long comment haha just run away man!! RUN AWAY!!! I can guarantee that thing is a ticking time bomb that the previous owner needed to unload it quick!
Something about the 3rd gen Cummins trucks. The 5.9 and the 6.7 are both 24v. To tell the difference between 99% of the 5.9 and 6.7 trucks of the 05-09 years are the taillights. The 6.7s will have 2 circles in the taillights like Greg_A's tow rig. The 5.9s will have flat taillights like the 03-04 trucks.
Haha i know. But they would need quite a bit more things done to that bigger turbos to get 2k+. and also Brayden. Thats why i said it works for 99% of the 3rd gen trucks.

If the guy had nitrous on it then he beat the hell out of the motor.
I love old Dodge Diesel's ! My wife tells me I watch too many videos of them LMAO

A first gen Cummins will get around 25 mpg all day long. That and their ability to last easily 500,000 plus is why I luuuuuvv a first gen Cummins.
what about 2nd gen?
Jared Hermans they are great and the get pretty good fuel mileage. I just have a handful of reasons why I prefer the first gen. It’s a parallel 4 link set up with a panhar bar, they’ve been using that set up on bagged trucks for years.
Grandpa buy me this truck!!!!!!! Lol
Those 4.7l Dakotas are junk stick with the 318 or 360. Also get that regular cab 5 speed you need a manual!
Dodge 318 Cummins good info 🤙 I wouldn't have known the difference lol not into gassers
Yes this is good info. We had a 5.2 5 speed Dakota. it was a very awesome light duty truck. 4.7 and 3.7 are junk engines don't waste your time.
4.7l is not junk... my Dakota is the most reliable vehicle in the drive way other than my cummins
Jiggy5166 most have cam and valve problems a lot even have head gasket issues.
Yeah wish I would have known that with mine before.m buying it, things shit. Head gasket is leaky.
There’s no way in hell that’s 2000 hp even on spray. I’d be surprised on spray hit 1000 hp.
+LOUD ‘N’ PROUD I love the Single Cab 3500 in White better than Black I love the 3500 SLT Regular Cab with the 6.7L High Output Cummins Diesel with the AISIN 6 speed Automatic Single Rear Wheel

That car lot in mount Vernon ohio aka Ross motor group actually got sued and shut down.
Are you guys in PA. There was a building you drove by that had a dog food sign on it. I believe it was in Wayne county I believe or Tobyhanna.
That 2000hp dully starting up was fuel and it being cold that’s what they do after sitting
Are ugoing to delete thw 6.7 and put a straight pipe on it
Wyatt Johnson yup
Ross quality’s always have badass trucks
The truck is still up for sale at the same dealership I think
Cool video. I'm sure you know already but it's extremely unlikely that motor is making in the ballpark of 2000 horse. Similar setups without nitrous have made well over 1000. I understand bud. I'm not trying to be aggravating, just want to be helpful and provide pertinent information.
You should definetly call the guy back about the manual !! Love the vids keep it up
27k in 79 with inflation would be about 93,333 k in 2018
Would have to be a billet block to hold 12k plus I can hear that it’s a stock cam. Maybe 900 with the nitrous 700 without.
Trust me, I own X2 - 4th gen dodges each with over 800 hp and have around $100k in mods on each of them.
That said I would buy that dually quick for $20-25k
Saying you wanted to own the regular cab ram and here we are 2020 and you own it
If it’s a 12v that bumper wouldn’t come on it because that bumper is off of an off road edition because it has tow hooks
Great video man! Just beware of those modded trucks, the harder start and smoke could mean some trouble. God bless!
It's called 200hp injectors lol... that's why it's smokey
Yeah you are correct lol. btw great channel!
Yea 200's would do it. That's a ton of fuel.
I would get the regular cab it will give you lots of content off of it ....the dually is very nice but every things all already been done to it already and you didn't touch a thing I would like to be able to say that I did all those modes myself and you'll love the truck a whole lot more if you put all the blood sweat and tears into it

Jk that would be cool but you said the same thing when you got the red 12 valve
Need to get that Dually!!! It was sick dude 😮😍
I looked at that truck it’s in OHIO it more like 600hp and said 1100 on spray
I hate click bait
That Ford needs deletes asap! Lol.
Also, don't buy a 11-12 Cummins. The transmissions are softer than a wet piece of paper.
archinuk417 you can always get an Allison and make it fit, it’s possible, that’s the only thing I like about Chevy, the Allison

How much they asking for the black dually?

How much are they asking for that black dully with the stacks ?
Hey really like the video, ive been looking to buy my first car and was wondering if i should get a diesel, i heard theyre expensive to fix and i was wondering fit that is true. thanks
Jason Weills when they brake yes they can be expensive but generally they are more reliable than gas trucks.
Diesels are more work and money to maintain. Just get a gasser and learn how to take care of that. Just make sure you research before you buy
If the black one was manual I would want it bad
Dude your dad is Kenny Rogers wow that's cool LOL and btw the engine smokes when it starts up because the engine is cold and the fuel is cold therefor the fuel doesn't burn up entirely also considering the type of person that probably owned it before more than likely cranked up the fuel pressure

The one who sold u the white cummins
lol

That's an epic truck it needs a video dedicated to it!
/s
hahaha buy it. just have a large maintenance fund handy and you will have a blast. I'm pretty sure it's sitting on that lot for the same reason you will enjoy it until it needs a repair.
If you own a Dodge anything you will need about 4 of them so you can still ride when the others are in the shop.
Are automatics like a thing in Indiana?
Oh damn a sport bumper! 😂

Just another kid driving around in something Daddy paid for
Gary Mcgarity he’s using his dads truck so what lmao
Exactly probly not even his its the oll mans
@@shonaegraybeal4734 what's your point
Shonae Graybeal Alright so
[sounds, great.👍 im. getting ready to install stacks on my 2004, dodge ram 3500 diesel trk.]
As I was taught all 4.7s go to heaven
The new trucks have what they call trophy style axels in the rear
And 2000 horsepower if I remember correctly the stock 12 valve block breaks in half at 1000 - 1500 horsepower
Rich Squid 94 lol who knows... just what I was told.
Where is the truck located and what are they asking for it I've been looking for a good 2nd gen that I don't have to do a lot to
i Just bought a 2017 ford F350 platinum 6.7 and it was pretty close to the price you thought they were
Something about the 3rd gen Cummins trucks.
I also highly doubt that truck is 2000+ HP. lol maybe. MAYBE. 1000.
Blackout_o3o that works for most yes. But my dad's 07 has that and it's a 5.9
Blackout_o3o I'm just the messenger lol if it is cool, if it's not... I ain't gonna loose sleep over it 😂
Haha i know. But they would need quite a bit more things done to that bigger turbos to get 2k+. and also Brayden. Thats why i said it works for 99% of the 3rd gen trucks.
If you don't buy it, I would. I doubt it is 2K hp, but it is the kind of truck I am looking for.
You should buy the 97....If I could, I would!
You should buy the black 12v dually
Get that dodge dually truck it a good deal Good luck Good video
