    Nice catch Paul, well done. As ever a thoroughly enjoyable episode. I love to hear the anecdotes about mother in law and her dog and all the little irritations of normal life. By the way, have you tried circle hooks as a way to avoid deep hooking? Billy Fisho's method works very well but "Billyfishing" uses a "Dongle" much like a carp fisher's 'hair'. You use a hook with the point and barb snipped off tied to a short length of braid granny-knotted to a circle hook. The fish swallows the lot but doesn't gut hook itself. The circle hook only hooks up on exit of the mouth. It works. Just a suggestion.

    • @SeaFishingWithPaul
      @SeaFishingWithPaul  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi fellow and thank you for the kind words of support really appreciated 👍
      Will have an experiment with circle hook idea as am going Bream fishing in the next video and always like to put them back unharmed. Will do some research and some shopping for circle hooks. The advice is very much welcomed as fishing is always about fish welfare and new ideas. Take care Paul 👍🎣🎣🎣🐠

    morning paul you ok fellar. another enjoyable session to watch. pleased you was in the fish mate. i was out of action 4 nearly 2 weeks not long bk. i'd jet washed bk garden and it wasn't the next day it was morning after that woke up and my left arm was killing and when i turned my head it hurt. all everbody said was your getting old haha. i'm 50 later this year and i do notice i seem to pick up aches n pains more than i used to. yes i watched dannys vid and thought what a shame that some scumbag can nock the confidence out of him. he loves fishing frew night or early hours . my last 2 sessions have been good, i had 9 founders and a baby codling and the other day 5 flounders. All the best paul from grimsby

      Hi Carl yes it does hurt when one damages a nerve and paying the price today can hardly walk. It doesn’t help when my wife says this is an example of things to come and I am getting old 😂although like you am getting a few aches and squeaky joints first thing. More beer I think although wife says more exercise and less beer 😂
      Danny did the right thing and really upsets me that idiots think they can steal stuff that hard working people got through graft and honest work. Time to send down the Grimsby boy’s 😂
      You had a good result and let’s hope a sign of things to come 🤞

      Hi Nick fishing can be contrary and Shoreham is my closest beach to where I live. Sorry to hear only a couple of fish for you and can fish well as we move into summer. Can be good for Bream as we move forward with warmer weather. If you haven’t fished the East arm worth a visit for smooth hounds although a bit of a trudge. But two plaice is still not a blank and better than some of my zero sessions 😂 next trip planned is to Selsey, deep fast clear snagged water but one or two bream lurk there so fingers crossed 🤞 take care and cheers for taking the time to watch and comment really appreciated 🍺🎣🎣🎣🐠👍

      Hi Argo was one of those crazy obsessional carp anglers up to four years ago and hung up my bivvy. Gave all my gear to a young man who didn’t have a lot of money and made me feel good seeing the excitement and disbelief on his face like he’d won the lottery. Got tired of sitting on a big lake for 24 hours in the freezing cold to catch nothing and also my wife was running out of patience 😂 always been a sea angler since I was a nipper so focused on this now which means my wife gets to see me and not waking up to my lines frozen in ice on a wintery lake 😂😂😂

      @@SeaFishingWithPaul I've only really got back into beach fishing at Christmas, after a break of about 25yrs, although I did buy new gear towards the end of '19, intending to start in '20, but obviously those plans were curtailed. Despite living near Gatwick, I've been mainly fishing Newhaven or Eastbourne day or night. I did my 1st day session at Normans Bay over Easter weekend, a few missed bites, but again dogfish and whiting, so last night was only my secong session there.
      My brother prefers Pevensey/Normans Bay as hig go-to beach and gave a few tips in addition to the "fishing marks" section of Anglers Den website.
      I should try some of the West Sussex beaches too.

Always promised myself that once I had a bit more time available that I would not squander it and get on the beach whatever the weather although pleased summer is on the way and the days are stretching out. I used to fish Newhaven a lot when younger with my uncle and have many fond memories from those days. I have not fished a lot Pevensey way but has proved good on each occasion that I have gone there. Will be heading Hayling and Selsey way after the Bream and a 20lb smooth hound that has eluded me. Good luck on your adventures and be good to bump into you on a beach soon. Take care Paul 👍🎣🎣🍺🐠

      @@SeaFishingWithPaul Always the way though, but my current job gives a good work/life balance. We were often at Newhaven too, back before the breakwater and beach were closed and as you say, fond memories. Only done night sessions there since returning. Both my sessions at Normans Bay have been good, as have the ones at Eastbourne. I'm currently averaging 2 sessions a month, again, balancing my hobbies and family. West Sussex is definitely on my future list, as are the beaches around the Gower Peninsular and Devon when visiting family in the areas.
      Good luck with your future fishing and hope you do get the 20lb smooth hound.
