Glad you liked it! The 5ah is still my go to when the HO isn't needed (lights, drills, impact wrenches, etc). Its smaller and has good power for most small jobs. Where I use my HO and Forge are with my outdoor trimmer, blower, chainsaw, and circular saws. With that said, I do agree the prices of the batteries are getting up there. Here in the US they aren't as high where you live, but they still are expensive. If looking to get into the HO lineup, the 6ah HO is the sweet spot for power/price/dependability. The 8ah HO has a lot higher failure rate than the 6ah HO and in my opinion outside of using the 12ah on a miter saw its too big. If you need the power the 12ah produces, then the 6ah Forge is the one I would get as it's the same power and a lot smaller. Typically, here in the US around the holidays there are some good deals and ever since the Forge came out the 6ah HO has been on sale. Home Depot sold me 6 for $600 for the 6 high outputs as a deal for buying more like 2 years ago. Unfortunately, I just checked, and they are not doing anything similar with the Forge. That's over $1200 to fill a 6 port charger

Some of Milwaukee's other batteries will have some voltage sag as the battery gets down to about 30% which then produces less power.

@TeamDIYNow I can see this battery making a difference in tools where you want that umph. A skill saw would be my 1st thought. But also a 6" grinder, or a concrete saw. Even a chop saw or table saw if you're cutting 2" maple. I don't have any of those tools battery-powered yet. Though I want a 4 1/2" variable speed with a toggle switch. I would already have it if it wasn't a special order only. I have 2 variable speed Metabo grinders, they are the benchmark for a grinder in my kit. Only time will test that factor. I'm interested in a skill saw, but I have 4. At that point it's more about workflow. Love how I can install 15ga nails in 3 minutes flat with 0 rush.
Thats a good question. The M18 high output was released around 2018 and the M12 high output wasn't released until a few years later. I'm guessing we will see something in the next year or so.

These Forge batteries are already in kits, so the retail price is really just a gauge of the value in my opinion.

Cool battery. Too expensive for now. Dont buy batteries @ home depot. Amazon 2x 6.0 high output = $160, 2x 8.0 high output= $214, 2x CP3.0 high output = $103
Agreed, Amazon has a few tool distributors selling on there as of late where you can get some good deals!
Most of those amazon batteries are fake. Not authentic althought they do look real.
Be careful of the counterfeit batteries on Amazon and eBay
@jeromeharris5197 Mine are authentic. Exactly the same as home depot.
M12 Forge when
Thats a good question. The M18 high output was released around 2018 and the M12 high output wasn't released until a few years later. I'm guessing we will see something in the next year or so.
It's gonna be sweet
I bought two Forge batteries for $50 each 🤫
Wow that's a good deal. Hopefully they were genuine batteries as that is the cheapest I have saw a Forge battery. I'm not aware of any counterfeit Forge batteries yet but I wouldn't be surprised to see them at some point just like all the other batteries.
no battery is worth $180 a pop...
Yea I know what you mean in regard to the cost of not only batteries but tools today (and many other things). With that said, what I do like about this battery is they didn't increase the cost as it's the same price of the HO 6ah it's probably going to replace. I typically buy all my tools in kits or on sale where you can get batteries for less or even free. These Forge batteries are already in kits, so the retail price is really just a gauge of the value in my opinion.
Try buying a STIHL 500AS battery. That’ll make these seem like a bargain.
The Forge battery looks like a cheap knockoff though. The styling is plain and feels like a dramatic step backwards.
Yea the label does look kind of generic compared to the existing M18 batteries. The battery does work well tho.
It's much better than the high output line. Half of the ones I own the side stickers peeled off or even the front cover for the button and lights.
@@coreysharp9794 I have also had issues with that front button where it cracked and peeled off a few of my batteries. I like the button on the Forge a lot better.
