  • What if I told you that as a manager, it was never your job to motivate your employees in the first place?
In this video I´ll show you why employees aren´t motivated and what you can do to prevent that.

As an employee, I've learned so much on how a manager sees me.
As an employee, who is under management training, I'm learning so much what to do when I become a manager.
    thank you, always!

Sound advice from both of you. Thank you. I’m a first time manager of a food retail business. (Grocery store) employee retention is an ongoing challenge. Again, thank you for making this information free and accessible.

Packing products in Amazon is sooo motivational on it's own. Or working in a fish factory slicing tuna/salmon all day long.

I am a supervisor, i tried 2 ways of supervising. I tried acting like a “ tough” supervisor and acting hard. I dont like that style. However i tried the “manager’s” style and it turns out to be very effective. Getting to know them more, being kind and telling them task indirectly without being a dick.

I agree wholeheartedly with your concepts but unfortunately in the third world, where the staff have limited education (if any) it doesn't apply. I find this the most frustrating part of managing a team in Africa.

I would also say that in the Age of COVID, we need employee engagement with the workplace. I haven’t seen anyone from work in over a year…

Can you do a video on how to know if you are delegating too much? I don’t want to be seen as lazy but I also want my staff to take the lead on most projects.

Thanks for your question. It is a littel bit different to answer in general. Think about it in that way: What exactly is your role? What is expected from you?
If you are a business owner, you should delegate as much from the day to day work as possible. The reason is: You role as a business owner is to lead the company. You have to work on the company not in the company.
If you are a team leader: Your main duty is to lead the team. If you don't do this, who will? How much should you delegate? That depends: What are the expectations of your superior regarding your job as a team leader?

Excellent video. I have never hired an employee that was not motivated. Most of our management practices are incredible demotivators
