Hiy hiy for the video nîcîwâkan. I'm of chippewa and cree ancestry, enrolled in turtle mountain but we don't really celebrate our heritage, but that's been changing the past 10 years or so and I'm really glad about it. I'm only 9/32 but I'm very proud to be Native and I want to learn all I can about my ancestors, I'm sure many of them deserve to be remembered for the strife they endured. Hiy hiy again!
What a beautiful language .Thank you so much. I have always had an interest in Native American people and their art. Beautiful people are glad you can teach your language to others. Greetings from Australia 🤗
Im so glad TH-cam and the internet is making this accessible for people and archiving it for future generations. I am improving my Ukrainian from TH-cam but i think it will be cool to start learning some basic Cree too since i live in Canada and cryptology of alphabets is fun
im 4 years late, but thank you for this. im cree but i dont know my language at all, and ive been wanting to learn cree for a long time but my family members completely forgot how to speak it, so thank you :)
I've just got my Metìs status, probably the last of my family. Today is Truth and Reconciliation day in my part of Turtle Island (Canada). As a Metìs, my ancestors fall on both sides of the conflict. I'm a direct descendant of the atrocities inflicted on the people of Turtle Island, and the perpetrators of those atrocities. I've always felt disconnected from my heritage, so it really makes me happy that our history and our culture is finally becoming more accessible and our history is finally being given the attention and respect it deserves.
Hi Randy Morin, thank you for teaching me to say hello,I love you and let's play.I am not indigenous but I love and enjoy learning and I love and enjoy pow wows, the food and the CDs that have drumming, pan flutes etc
Where I live, and I live in Northern Manitoba. We say “ekosani” for “thank you”. But the cree language is very diverse and there’s also different dialects. It really depends when you are… thanks for this 🙂
Hello, I enjoyed your post; Thank you for the basics. I am thinking of going to Hudson Bay, where there are Cree speaking villages. I would like to get a English to Cree translation book. Do you know of any? Thanks again.
Tansi Randy, your lessons are fantastic. I've always wanted to learn the language of my ancestors as my great, great great grandfather was reverend James settee. I understand that he was a swampy cree from the split lake area in Manitoba. Hiy Hiy
Spelling not right here sorry, but isn’t thank you… ni-naskomow (I thank this person) or ni-naskoomtin (I thank you) plains Cree. No disrespect, just trying to learn. I know there are different dialects
