    This is the man I would want as my teacher! A basic class of a local Aboriginal language should be taught in every grade, not that students would become fluent, but just to help them understand the language that existed here before colonization and to learn to respect the culture. (I am European Canadian BTW)

      In my schools in Alberta it was mandatory to learn aspects and history of the Cree and other indigenous groups.

    As a Diné language and culture teacher, I want to say "Ahéhee," for sharing. I hope to learn more more about my northern cousins through this venue. As USA finds more ways towards destruction, I hope we can all communicate and connect again. Thank You.

      @@codygreyeyes1610 No, just respecting this man. He gave me the opportunity to learn the star chart, when I couldn't pay. I am a long way from being a fluent speaker, as I don't have may fluent speakers that surround me atm. Maybe one day.

      Agreed, I'm Neyheyawak (Cree) but am interested in all of the indigenous languages.

    I really enjoyed this... I loved the way you wrote the symbols/ dialect and corresponded them with direction, numbers.. 7, 28,
    Turtles having 13 marks, full moons... grandmothers wow!. I’ve learned more in one hour than if I was being taught to just repeat words. Your teaching style is amazing.. now to find part two.

    Thank you for posting this! I love Reuben's teaching style. I wish he did instructing here in Calgary, Edmonton is still so far away! I wish we had more Nehiyaw language teachers in Calgary

    Reminds me of my language ALOT. My language is Mi'kmaw on the east coast of Canada.

      when we find ourselves through language, we find our ancestors world view and belief system resulting us understanding our entire culture, thus identity. I've been to his classes twice. He's a great teacher. Loved him and his style of teaching very much.

      @@lancemorin3967 The whole world deserves to know the languages of Turtle Island. It's frustrating how little Canada lets out about the existence of life before the settlers (such as myself), and they only assume dream catchers and tobacco came from white North Americans such as myself. I've tried explaining when I was in the Philippines (a country previously colonized by America, & an old US territory), and they had absolutely no idea whatsoever.

    My mother speaks Cree, because she is a Cree woman from the Piapot band 1st Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada; and she never taught us her language because of the laws of assimilation, we have to learning the English language and religion while attending schools & growing up here in California.

    My young cousins, who still live on the reserve, don't speak the Nehinaw language. I grew up in the city and lost touch with my Dad's side of his heritage, as did he. He is still pretty fluent though. Time to teach my kids some words.

    I have to know the laws of each one. I don't have a "la" either but i am sure willing to add it. Im not sure how often i would use it but when i do u can write about now. I will now spend hours learning about the name and meaning of each syllable.

    Beautiful to the ear, can hear the distant relationship with Northern Eurasia
    9:35 to clear out any misunderstanding from listeners, English is not much older than 1000 years but the source for English and other european languages is probably about 10000 years old.

    It seems to me most letters are a Group - besides A, Ba, Ta , LA- Be te Le - U ...- A , E, O, U sounds mostly mixed with a consonant in a Group; Thanese - how - the Th seems aspirated;

      @@africaRBG lol i wish i did as a child and danced pow-wow as well but around 5 or so years old i basically just changed my language to english and stopped dancing pow-wow my words would be mixed between cree and english so it was hard for anyone to understand me,my dad is Reubens older brother

    its interesting american indians have tribes. and the bible mentions the twelve tribes of isreal. and the scribes or the word scribal seems like a version of tribe. the ending on these are ibe. and the bible translation uses the word tent in revelation 21:3,4. and of course in the bible they used a lot of tents. people dwelled in tents alot in the bible.
