AWE DLC is more of a big teaser for a crossover game between Control & Alan Wake. I don't think We'll get Control 2 or Alan Wake 2 But a mix of both. Player will certainly be the agent mentionned at the end of the DLC that is already there ? Can't wait to see what They'll create.

Guys the key to the Hartman boss fight is Surge esp upgraded you can cancel his darkness attack after he does the 1st one as long as you keep hitting him and have a fast reload he'll never be able to black out the room again. try it.
Honestly, Hartman final boss fight was not that hard IF (and big IF) you have the shotgun mode of your weapon WITH the -100% spread (unique ?) mod. Took me 2min to kill him. (Also, the npc soldier with me was a great help to distract).
Just finished the AWE expansion and all its side quests and was wondering if Remedy fixed that thing with the mission select where you’d lose all your stuff if you selected a previous mission.
No they haven’t but the arcade machines sort of address that problem by letting you replay past missions like the lovely ashtray maze for example, without having to select that chapter in the menu and lose your progress.
mjolnir112 their next game is Vanguard, which is probably meant to hold us over until their next big game. Which, based on the end of AWE, will indeed be Alan Wake 2. You can read about Project Vanguard on Remedy’s website. It’s apparently gonna be some new type of multiplayer game that will ultimately tie into the overall Remedyverse story that they’re building up to once all these characters come together.
You're the second review I watched who said they had trouble with the final boss, but I beat him first time with ease. Definitely not the hardest boss in the game.

I enjoyed the Foundation DLC more, simply because it was more about the FBC where as this dlc was about Alan Wake and I'm not big on that story. As for gameplay it's fun. Its worth the 15 dollars or whatever it costs on steam. I got the ultimate edition and replayed the whole game and the price point on sale of 30 bucks was definitely worth it.

The architecture is beautiful with the brutalist weird sci-fi vibe whilst also taking you out that element occasionally which is refreshing. I played wake when I was younger managed to beat it after take some time off because I thought it was scary and sections being scares with ammo ( I know that’s the point now ) but did make you feel weak. Probably rambled to long now but loved the video and thanks for replying both of yous. Hope yous are well !

I didn't feel like Harman was hard, I killed him really quick. But he definitely gave me an uneasy feeling, whitch I love. I want remedy to really explore more twisted horror and supernatural stories. Maybe some lovecraftian inspired AWE.

I noticed that a lot of the dialogue in AWE had the word "Third" in it. Maybe there is a greater meaning behind this word that is yet to be explained in a future DLC or Game?

Apparently this DLC was made almost completely remotely due to the pandemic, so I can forgive it being a bit underwhelming. I did enjoy it however as a tease for what is coming next, which is almost certainly Alan Wake 2.
Not sure if they made tweaks to damage on Jesse and enemies via updates, I felt really strong when completing the base game. Now it feels like back to square one. They have now added new levels for the skills to make them stronger than before...I guess. Since I feel like that most still do not do enough dmg. Launch is now nerfed, until you get the last +75% and the ability to pickup multiple items + you can regen stamina too while holding an item (which is actually great addition). Then they kinda buffed melee and shield abilities...kinda. You do a bit more damage now on melee, smash from air does quite a lot dmg now (though you lose 90% of your energy, so you wont ever use it anyway), shield is still breaks really easily as it used to, throwing the shield does still poor damage overall, only the shield dash bash does good damage. Then they added some new weapon and personal mods like: Your melee does more damager after killing an enemy, more damage after melee, drop more stuff if you use melee to kill, if you take damage from X you get Y or taking damage to shield heals +6 etc. So a lot of melee / taking damage from X gives Y / shield enhancing stuff even though melee and close quarters in this game is a no go. If you have lot of energy and you are going to destroy your target in one swoop or it's a low tier enemy then you can go for it. My personal favorites from the new ones for personal mod were: 20% reload when dashing, launch heals you 20% on hit, incoming damage -22% after seizing an enemy. For weapons you my favorites where the new golden ones: -100% shotgun spread (it's like a sniper lmao), pierce charge time -100 (faster to shoot), charge bullet speed +500% (now you can actually shoot targets far away with this), spin firerate +70%....though the only caveat is that there are no new or more slots and guns feel like gimped (I remember them being better so they nerfed them or I'm remembering wrong). The new explosive weapon is quite similar to the last one, but you can trigger the explosion. Still it's as powerless as the last one at killing enemies or shield, it's good at killing yourself. Even with all three slots DMG +50% or headshot +100% etc. the damage versus launch is shit. Grip, pierce or shatter are the best ones, do not even bother with the rest. They should give you two more slots per weapon and personal mods. if they are scared that they would be too OP, then rule out that X of offensive and Y defensive/passive mods. Felt so utterly powerless on the DLC. Launch and max dmg grip 24/7. It's not like it's a hard game, but they even tried buffing other skills and melee stuff even though Jesse gets her ass kicked hard on CQC. Didn't die on bosses at all, only at random encounters when someone got too close. Normal enemy behind you can wreck your health in seconds. Higher tier enemies can 1 or 2 shot you (sometimes there are 3 of those at same time), If you do not have energy for shield your basically dead. This DLC felt more like Alan Wake 2 teaser, basically if you have not played AW you will be lost big time. They also replaced the voice actors of Hartman and Thomas Zane (even made Zane look like Alan for some reason and not being in his diving suit like in AW). There is no proper conclusion to the dlc and you will not get to see Alan with Jesse for real at all. There are no proper light based enemies or usage than the third thing (darkness enemy) encounters and couple actually good puzzles.

If you read my whole comment you might have noticed that I had even tried the new mods. Yes, Charge pretty much is the only thing that makes good AOE damage, but is it fun...no, will you get yourself killed...yes. With quick charge it was better, but just couple shots it's almost like second launch but not as reliable, but not as good and still less "bullets" since I could throw multiple items in seconds. Also I would not call having that one good AOE dmg weapon as a great design, all the weapons should be fun and balanced, which its not. Well at the end its all about preference.

Yes, I kind of liked the Halo/Gears but THE game I felt I “lost” when I came back to PlayStation was, definitely, Alan Wake. I remember I read a book about it, and watched a sort of live action episode on the internet. I remember even loving the movie “Secret Window”, because someone somewhere said that it was kind of similar to it. Anyway, let’s hope the official announcement arrives!
@Nachash Lol, you’re right, this is a Control-related video. It is actually on my waitlist since they put it on PsPlus some months ago. Now I’m in the middle of a Witcher 3 play-through so… by the time I’m done with it, perhaps I’ll just jump straight to Alan Wake.
The boss fight is BS. It’s exactly the way the reviewer describes. It’s easy to get to the second phase but if you can’t levitate fast enough to get to turn lights on while being shot by enemies and worrying about where the boss is at. His second phase health can come back quickly. It’s way less skill base than luck. The first DLC was great including the very good boss fight that you always felt it your fault dying. It was a 8.5 to. 9/10 compared to this 7 or less. I never played Alan wake but even if I did wake was barely in the dlc unless much more is shown once I finish the boss fight. The dlc prior to boss fight wasn’t that interesting where as first dlc had great content throughout and love the rail cart section.
I used what the devs gave us which is the invincible option in the Game where you can’t die to beat the boss fight. I wasn’t enjoying it so I did the cheat type setting. I felt dirty about it but I didn’t overall care. I rarely ever turn down difficulty in games which you couldn’t do in control until this new feature came out with the dlc. I forgot I could use the control agent to help me in the fight but oh well.
I'm glad I bought GOTY with all the expansions cheap 'cause I couldnt give effing less about Alan Wake. This last boss is cheap AF and I have definitely beaten many hard games cheat free. I own both Wake games & hardly played them. Max Payne's were fun, I loved Quantum Break but Control is kinda a pain in the ass a lot of the time so I guess we'll see if I venture into the Remedy universe again. I'm well versed in many things SCP which this game blatantly copies. I thought I might that like but it's just a cheap imitation I'm ready to see end.
it's a good game with nice gameplay and atmosphere. The cutscenes are a weak point though. The ends of the main game and the dlc's are not so satisfying...
I got Control with my PS+ subscription. When I heard Alan Wake was involved, I got it on a Steam sale for $5. I already had American Nightmare free on Epic Game Store. Played the AW games first, then Control. I got through most of AWE in the middle of Control, but couldn’t beat Hartman until after I beat the main story. Then I finished the Foundation DLC (which had a bug that fixed itself after I died doing something else). Now I’m trying to platinum the base game. All that for $5, even though all the stories sounded hokey when I first heard about them.
Qq. The boss fight wasnt hard and was easy to figure out as it was just a mixture of previous encounter gimmicks mixed together. I breezed it in one death. No idea why this guy thinks it's a difficult boss fight.

the final boss was pretty easy tbh. spammed the sticky grenades and throwing shit at him. only had to do the light thing one time after turning them on in the beginning of the fight
I got really bored by this dlc. I was into the lore and read everything but in this dlc i didn't even bother to read them because it just felt too lazy. It was like the last tomb raider where it just threw too many scripts you had to read to understand the story. Oh yeah and the game is still glitchy as F.
After playing Control with its frequent load screen, last gen graphics, and confusing gps free map, to me a DLC sounds ridiculous. Why make a extended game that doesn’t cover players not familiar with Alan Wakes storyline.... this is not one for me, but maybe you guys can enjoy this one.

Rockstar is a pain with rights. So no. We will not have Max Payne connected to Control/Alan Wake. Too much of a hassle to make it worth it.

The rail cart was so refreshingly unexpected. One of the better sequences in gaming this year.

Qq. The boss fight wasnt hard and was easy to figure out as it was just a mixture of previous encounter gimmicks mixed together. I breezed it in one death. No idea why this guy thinks it's a difficult boss fight.

Gonna play this on mah shiny new 3080.. Already sold my 2070 last week.. Playing this on 144 fps finally with rtx and dlss is gonna be soo good. I think its a perfect time to replay Alan Wake now while im using my trusty backup gtx 570 gpu LOL

the final boss was pretty easy tbh. spammed the sticky grenades and throwing shit at him. only had to do the light thing one time after turning them on in the beginning of the fight

I got really bored by this dlc. I was into the lore and read everything but in this dlc i didn't even bother to read them because it just felt too lazy. It was like the last tomb raider where it just threw too many scripts you had to read to understand the story. Oh yeah and the game is still glitchy as F.

After playing Control with its frequent load screen, last gen graphics, and confusing gps free map, to me a DLC sounds ridiculous. Why make a extended game that doesn’t cover players not familiar with Alan Wakes storyline.... this is not one for me, but maybe you guys can enjoy this one.
