This is literally one big spoiler for the whole dlc it's like he didn't have anything to say so he just rehashed all the moments of interest he destroyed the mystery and some of the coolest scenes. If I can say anything about this review it's please don't watch it before you play. You'll enjoy it more blindly going into it imo
I NEVER watch or read any reviews before playing the actual games, for this very reason, its really annoying how IGN or any company/TH-camr jumps on the spoiler train as soon as a game is released, just for some likes and attention and "we told you first" bullshit. But, when you watch these after playing, it's good to watch. They could at least add SPOILER WARNING to the title and NEVER use spoiler thumbnails, because most of the time, the thumbnails ruin it and I'm always scared going on TH-cam every time a favorite movie, tv, game is released
@huntercollier i don't think its gonna be control 2, rather it would be another game set in bright falls as foreshadowed at the end of this dlc, we will play as Agent Estevez as she is the on site investigator at Bright falls. When jesse asked is there any agent on site, langston replies estevez is on it now, so yeah the next game will probably have us playing as both estevez and alan wake, atleast it what i deduce.
@@roie255 While that may just be a theory, it is confirmed/heavily implied in the files you find about Night Springs that Alan Wake accidentally created the hiss and had the old Director possessed by it. So it isn't impossible that he accidentally created the Bureau too.
Apparently this review has major spoilers so I’ll take the liberty of giving a brief spoiler free review. You are called into the abandoned sector of the the Oldest House, the Investigations Sector, to find a new evil, or the “third thing” that has arisen. Enjoy a new weapon form, new and interesting environments, and in my opinion the most fun and intense major enemy/boss encounters in Control. Enjoy your the dlc!
Honestly, I don't like that Alan Wake is connected to Control. I want Control to be its own thing. It's such an interesting universe! All I want now is Control 2 lol
Strange that the Axe-Wielding enemies come outside of the AWE missions. They're in the Foundation level, where Hiss have upgraded their skills. I really wished they had actually used the Arcade graphics for those levels, because it almost felt like they did, but then it becomes realistic again, so that's one thing they could do next to these two games, or make another room where you play each arcade console with one game in each, instead of bundling them in the same machine.
We just might, Spoilers: in the ending of this dlc Jesse receives a distress signal coming from Bright falls but a few years from the future. Jesse asks if there’s any agent there to investigate and Langston replies Agent Estevez is on site investigating it. So the next game might be Alan wake 2 with Estevez as a supporting character or it might be a game where u play as Estevez and Alan wake is the supporting character.
I wondered that because the download size was crazy small. I didn't know if it was because they were already on the disk or if its just because most of the assets already were used in the main game.
I missed Alan Wake bc I was only a Nintendo/PS player. Hopefully now the game can be played on my toaster computer. Control's great. Can't wait to get back
Alan Wake is both extremely well optimized at lower settings and incredibly hardware demanding at higher settings. You can play it decently at 30 fps on Intel HD graphics. You need 2070S/5700 XT for 4K60 gameplay.
Jay Bear they are set in the same universe called the RCU ( remedy connected universe) confirmed by Sam lake. Their next upcoming games will further expand this universe.

They finally have difficulty options and better checkpoints. I played a piece of the AWE so far and it is probably better than the main game in certain aspects.
Salman Khan I don’t think it needs to be open world. Just like last of us isn’t open world but you have open outdoor spaces. And it can still be heavily story driven just like last of us is.
I remember how max payne had a hard coded cutoff for a fixed aspect ratio, we might be making the same kind of mistake by not expecting the VR revolution. Sure, RTX will become much cheaper and faster but thats easy to scale.
Big MEH. Expensive for the little content ... recycled level-design, storytelling only in the form of documents to pick up which leads the gameplay,. An extension that serves as a teaser for Alan Wake 2 more than a densification of the game. Only the antagonist is original (And the gameplay still enjoyable) but otherwise it is disappointing and far below The Foundation. The game installs an ambitious lore that it struggles to narrate dynamically, it's a shame.
Control itself was a lot like that too, there were definitely parts of that game that were not well fleshed out at all and in fact seemed barely finished
Very subjective, but you made some points. I found both DLCs to be 7/10s. Not bad, just a little short and we want more. How I look at it is that the Foundation is the Control DLC, while AWE is the RCU DLC (it mentions a lot more than Alan if you read the documents). I just wish AWE was longer, and a few more memorable locations. Those are my only two complaints for it. I found the Foundation to get boring, and I personally didn't like the heavy red sand of the caves or the new ability (subjective, ofc).

It was, admittedly, a tad underwhelming as far as Control content goes. You can very much tell this DLC is mid-game content, and not end-game (Review failed to mention how it unlocks after mission 7 for new players... ) While that is a bit disappointing, it was still worth every penny. As a big Alan Wake fan I personally enjoyed all the tid bits of lore and reading material, also picking those lights up and shining em at the shadowy goo was very Alan Wake-y. Unfortunately though it felt kinda short and they didn't do enough stuff with the light, I wished they'd given us a flashlight and basically introduced the Alan Wake gameplay into it. Instead you end up going from room to room and fighting this boss character who keeps fleeing until you reach the final room, and it just ends after that. They should've done more.
