  • This New Russian TOR Air Defense System Is A Real Threat To NATO.
    In his famous treatise on the art of war, Karl von Clausewitz proclaimed that the first and most important thing that a statesman and commander must understand on the eve of a war is the type of war it actually is.
    The Treatise On War had more influence on military leaders in the 19th and 20th centuries than any other book. In the 21st century, many of the theses of von Clausewitz have not lost their relevance. After all, he was interested in, first and foremost, the philosophy and metaphysics of war, which, unlike weaponry, barely change over the centuries.
    We will now be discussing two of the most significant American developments which underpin the States’ superiority at both strategic and tactical levels. We will begin with the strategic UAV, and then follow up by covering new incredible laser-guided bullets.

    Yeah yeah yeah we hear this all the time. The war in Ukraine is showing something. Antiaircraft is antiaircraft . The weapons might be good but the training of these Russian soldiers is subpar so by default the weapons are useless. The Russian tanks and their special forces were supposed to rival U.S. tanks and special forces but that proves to be a bust.

When an 'invincible' warship has its radar either turned off, operators asleep or perhaps more likely drunk and gets sunk by a couple of missiles there is a systemic problem that the best system in the world cannot fix.

    It's not really. We have quite a few things that can defeat it. Russian radar, even that on the S-400, can't track F-35 and F-22 in stealth mode. These ADS were built to take out subsonic cruise missiles, drones, helicopters, and 4 gen aircraft that got to close. They would not perform well against modern weapons and tactics used by NATO. Sure if they caught you not paying attention you will get a nasty surprise but unless they turn on the radar at the last minute, we would know were all of these are located and be tracking them before we even were in their theater. Then its just a matter of clearing them out. We always take out air defense and establish air superiority first.
    Unlike the Russians, the US military think tanks are gathering data from every single engagement in the world and watching how each military acts and conducts itself, then comes up with tactics and battle strategies to defeat that military in the most efficient way with the lowest cost in life. Russians are always a few decades behind and we learned a lot about Russians in Ukraine.

    • @dmitryhetman1509
      @dmitryhetman1509 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What do you mean by stealth mode? Without radar and communication f 35 can't do much, and that thing doesn't home on radar, it's targeting frame. All advantage that stealth brings is it will be visible later than aircraft of 4th generation. How you can be sure that it's radar can't truck f 35? Somewhat loud statement, in Ukraine fighters 4++ generation were engaged with ancient Soviet missiles and radars.

    • @ldavis6083
      @ldavis6083 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@dmitryhetman1509 You make a lot of assumptions here you have no knowledge of. First lets talk about how stealth works. There are multiple ways to detect an enemy. You can detect its physical components, its thermal components( such as the hot exhaust), and you can detect its electronic components( such as active scanning radar). To provide stealth, you need to defeat these abilities.
      US made stealth aircraft defeat the physical and thermal by using specially designed airframes and stealth paint. The radar cross section of export F-35s is said to be about that of a smallish bird, while that of the F-22 is about the size of bumblebee. Versions made for the US military are always better. This means that a radar system has to be able to detect a target the size of a small bird, decide it is a threat and not clutter, track it, and find a firing solution to it. If the defense system cannot complete all of these steps it cannot even attempt to defend itself. You can also track its radar signal. Western aircraft that has been modernized or is of an modern generation ( which is almost all active service US aircraft) does not need to use its own radar. It can use information fed to it from other sources such as AWACS which can stay outside threat range but still gather threat data.
      The F-35 was also built, electronically, to support other aircraft. It can collect data and feed it through datalinks to other aircraft that are not as advanced. The US military, unlike the Russian military, has a very high level of cohesion. Our military is not only designed to work together but all of its systems are designed to support each other. The F-35 and F-22 are built for SAM penetration in hostile airspace. When i say stealth mode, that means limited use of active systems and using no external hardpoints. These aircraft compromise stealth when using external hardpoints which they sometimes do depending on mission and loadout. So they do sacrifice their stealth for a heavier loadout.
      This all before you get to electronic countermeasures which the F-35 has a variety of because it was built to penetrate enemy airspace. We have AGMs that can be used from outside of the range of this TOR. And as it was mentioned it can be defeated even with dumb bombs from outside of its range.
      Ukraine uses Soviet fighters. There is a significant difference between Soviet/Russian 4 gen + fighters and Western 4 gen + fighters. If the difference was relatively small then the Ukrainians would be flying older US 4 gen + fighters. The tech difference between US and Soviet fighters of the same gen is pretty large. US systems are more complex and require a lot more training to use. Also active service Western hardware is constantly updated while in active service. So our F-16 for example have had dozens and dozens of updates as tech and threats involved. Russia on the other hand is slow to update their equipment and often do so in limited numbers. USSR/Russia also tends to be a couple of decades at minimum behind the US in tech because Russian strategy seems to be based on WW2 strategy, produce a lot of hardware cheaply and throw it at the enemy until you overwhelm them. That is not an efficient way to use your resources but it the one that even Russia uses today. Western strategy is to preserve the lives of soldiers and non combatants and the life of the platform being used. This way during war time we can focus on producing mostly ammo instead of ammo, equipment, and new soldiers.
      In reality, the only thing saving Russia, is its nuclear weapons and the fact that China actually makes an effort at new tech, though its not been battle tested. Otherwise the US would have helped the Ukrainians ( such help has broad support in the US), and removed the Russian government and restored it to the citizens of Russia. The US isn't a threat to the people of other countries, its a threat to the authoritarian governments of other countries. That is a huge difference but the authoritarian governments like to scare their people into thinking that the US is evil. The reality is we believe heavily in freedom and human rights and that doesn't work with authoritarian governments.

      @@ldavis6083 russian jets are capable of detecting and tracking stealth fighters, because they use something else then radar. I can’t remember how its called but works different then radar so stealth technology is useless. Ok it only detects planes in front of it, but it’s better to only see in front of you then not seeing at all.

    • @ldavis6083
      @ldavis6083 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yarnickgoovaerts I believe you are referring to the Nebo-M system which is a ground based radar. Russia claims that it can detect F-35s and F-22s with the radar. The Nebo-M supposedly has a very long detection range of normal aircraft. There are multiple factors at play. First, the further away from radar that you get, the more that the curvature of earth affects it. Old aircraft like the f-117 were meant to fly high out of SAM range. The F-35 is designed to be flown low. So the curvature of the earth is in play much longer.
      Two, there are several things that make stealth aircraft less stealthy. For example, having a loadout on external pylons. These give the aircraft a much bigger signature. Using afterburners increase IR signature and compromise stealth. Also having active scan radar turned on makes them easy to detect. 5th Gen US aircraft can use data uplinks instead of their own radar. Broadcasting IFF is also a giveaway. It literally says " I am at this location". All of this is important in a minute.
      Three, stealth aircraft are not totally invisible. They are just harder to detect which means the radar has to be more powerful and the aircraft has to be closer to the radar to be detected. There is also a huge difference between being able to detect an aircraft and being able to track it and being able to get a firing solution on it. If you can't track an aircraft, you can't get a firing solution on it and thus being able to detect it isn't of much use.
      Fourth, 5th gen aircraft have several built in electronic countermeasures that can be used to defeat radar systems and missile threats.
      I am sure Russia did detect F-35s with their radar systems... when those F-35s are flying over friendly territory with a defense loadout( AAMs) on the wings, active radar, and broadcasting IFF every radar made in the last 40 years can detect them. Russia likes to embellish stuff like this but the truth is that Russian radar has never encountered a 5th gen aircraft in a full stealth mission mode. Because the F-35 has never been used in combat. Most of its capabilities are still unknown outside of those who have clearance and work with the plane. The F-22 is even more secretive as we don't export it.
      I wouldn't believe Russian hype about their capabilities until they actually prove them on the field. Russia tends to fall significantly short of its claims in combat.

    American's military equipments is useless in Ukrain war against Russia, if u say usa military equipments more advanced , why why this Ukrainian Forces loses in battle fields. Most of equipments supply by USA & UK! Look into Patriot system that you all say best in the world which is supply by USA has been completely distroyed by Russian forces system including 10 american forces died. Most of all battle fields conquering by Russian forces. Really respect the Russian & all types of equipments there used.

    The tor is so good,it has shot down more TB2's than Ukraine ever had.That means the tor complex is clairvoyant and can shoot down things yet to be.

    All you have to do is jam it’s way to communicate then it’s done ! Then if you can take control of just 1 of those missiles and send it back to blow the tor up ! Yeah they probably figured no one would ever figure out that weakness ! With the latest technology you won’t have to worry about tor or tor2 because they will take a satellite and take over its control or jam it we’re it will be rendered useless ! Also they have lazars that they can just hit any part of it and fry electronics for good then it’s jus a setting heap of steel with a bunch explosives on it ! Ronald Reagan’s Star Wars program helped out things along the way we still don’t know all about what they came up with!
