- Compared to the S-400, the M142 HIMARS is a rocket launcher that fires missiles with a caliber of 227 mm. Its operating range varies depending on the ammunition used, ranging from 1.2 to 186 miles or up to 311 miles when using the Precision Strike Missile. The system can fire 6 × 227 mm M26, M30/M31 series rockets or one MGM-140 ATACMS missile. The launcher is mounted on a standard Army M1140 truck frame and is powered by a diesel engine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 52.8 mph.

I like how you have covered all bases when pronouncing HIMARS throughout this video, pronouncing it as HIM-ARS, HE-MARS and HI-MARS!!!
So as to give everyone listening a chance to understand a use the word as they wish.
HIMARS and S-400 are two completely different weapons platforms, the HIMARS is an offensive weapon, where as the S-400 can be loaded with both defensive and offensive ammunition. As a side note it would have been interesting to see an example of how HIMARS engages targets, like we did with S-400 @2:24, but it's probably top secret.
If s-400 can shoot down grad rockets then they can shoot down himars. S400 is no iron dome . And yes there is photos of s400 that was shot down so there is proof

HIMARS cannot be used against any airial treat. It's not created for that purpose. It's a MLRS Its not for arial defenses.
@@TKUA11 Iron dome isn't S-400. S-400 can stop Hypersonic missiles and Iron Dom CANNOT. If Russian would used its Iskander, Zircon, Kinzhal or Gremlin or Kh-58 anti radars missiles. Moreover, Kh-58 would be good enough for Iron Dome. Rest would be overkill for Iron Dome. same as S-400 is overkill for HIMARS.

They failed in the Bakmut area since February. That's why they don't brag with Himars as they did last fall.
Russia has started putting most ammo stores and vehicles far behind the front because their S300 can't take out HIMARS rockets.

Ukraine claimed before to have had 100% success shooting down the incoming Russian missiles and drones using old soviet Era S300 systems.
They now claim to shoot down Russian Hypersonic missiles using the Patriot system.
Russia however does not claim to shoot down 100% of the incoming Ukraine missiles and Drones using their upgraded S300 and new S400 systems.
Russia did however claim to have severely damaged a Patriot system and the US have acknowledge some damage to the system, in spite of Ukraine claiming no damage to the Patriot system.

HIMARS rockets are too small compared to the S-400, which is meant to shoot down aircraft.
Yeah they would need an iron dome to shoot them down, they go way too fast, since they’re not cruise missiles
Aircraft and cruise missiles, but definitely not low-caliber MLRS rockets. I'm not saying it cannot shoot HIMARS down at all, i'm just saying it's not suited for that kind of target... Neither is Patriot.

The S 400 system consists of different projectiles for different kinds of flying objects, concentrating around a big radar system. It is not only the big rocket which can be seen (at least the containers) in the vid.

Not even comparable. They are two very different anti air. Himars could be compared to S-350. S-400 is by far the best anti air missile that can’t be compared to any other.

But the Ukrainian never admit that their himars launchers being destroyed by the Russian cruise or hypersonic missiles. Also Russia have the counter measure to disrupt the himars rockets via their electronic counter measures. S400s being used to shoot down Ukranian helicopters and fighter planes.

Compering HIMARS with S-400 is ABSURD. Russia has many other systems to use against HIMARS. S-400 is to expensive and overkill to be used against HIMARS. That's the reason that i said its absurd. Russian Buk or latest S-350 is perfect against HIMARS so as against any other airial treat!

Pretty much all the weapon systems you’ve mentioned have remained useful in some capacity, they just don’t make as much as a difference as HIMARS does. The Javelin was useful mostly in the beginning of the war to halt Russia’s armored assaults, but that phase of the war is over and fighting has shifted more towards attritional trench fights. Bayraktar is less effective as a UCAV now but it is still very useful for ISR, and switchblade was never that good of a weapon outside of very specific scenarios despite the media hype. HIMARS has some weaknesses but it’s going to be very hard if not impossible for Russia to completely negate its effects.

Why compare these two? They are nothing alike and would never deal with each other. S400 can't shoot down a HIMARs rocket, and HIMARs doesn't have the range to destroy a S400 which is behind the front lines in unless Russia was stupid enough to bring them to the front lines.

i diot, the S-400 can be both Offensive and can do Air defense system. While Himars is only offensive.😝😝😝. The 4 unit missiles have long range that is 248 miles, the other 4 unit is for medium range missiles that can detect low altitude small missiles that is 180 miles range, and the other 4 units is for small range missiles for small enemy missiles and drones that is 100 miles range a total of 12 unit missiles separately, while himars has only 6 missiles with the same size and range.😝😝😝. In one sentence, it was stated that the S-400 could intercept all but the HIMARS weapons system. Then about 5 minutes later it was stated that the S-400 could take down the HIMARS. And to throw a wrench into the works, these are two differenttypes of weapons systems.
