Russia Makes Nuclear-Powered Burevestnik Missile Test Claim: What Are Putin's Intentions?

- Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a successful test of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile, a development previously exposed in 2018 alongside five other new strategic weapons. The previous tests of Burevestnik were plagued by failures and a fatal accident in 2019 that claimed multiple lives.
Meanwhile, at least 53 people were killed and several injured in two separate Russian missile strikes in Ukraine on Thursday and Friday, according to media reports quoting Ukrainian officials. The drone strikes targetted a number of cities across the war-torn country - Odesa and Mykolaiv regions in the south, Dnipropetrovsk region in the southeast, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr regions in the centre and Kharkiv region in the northeast.

Hold on. If nuclear powered missiles is here doesnt that mean theoretically nuclear powered rockets are now buildable.
Those have been buildable since the 60's. Check out the NERVA program which was undertaken by NASA and the AEC (atomic energy commission)

Not only is it feasible, it's already been done. The US NERVA program is a great example, another example is the cancelled SLAM missile which also would've used a nuclear engine for propulsion.

5 minutes thinking says that so long as a very small nuclear reactor- or maybe just a highly radioactive heat source is available it would heat the compressed air almost as well as an oil fire for a "gas turbine" aka Aero -engine.
A horribly difficult thing to deal with regarding assembly and storage - especially if the "Hot" object rather than the Reactor was employed. A Reactor can be controlled, can it not ?
