@@nova3752 Enjoy being bitter while their particular not-very-popular RPG series continues to release major entries, turns a bigger profit than most other Nintendo franchises just from its mobile game, and gets more and more people to play some fun little turn-based tactical games.
When I played Forgotten Land, whenever I saw something from a previous game, I literally was like, "ah, yeah! It's that thing from those other Kirby games!" Which was usually the only time during gameplay that I also came to the realization "oh, yeah, this game is 3D, and the others were not." It's so seamless. As much as I love the old Kirby formula, I'd love to see them keep doing 3D Kirby, at least for a while.
Also, Nintendo Switch Sports saying "how do we make a sports game feel more like our old sports games (the ones that didn't really deviate from real world sports)? I know! Make it Rocket League, but as if you were playing Rocket League on the same size field as the ones for cars, and you were a pretty average person, not a car or even someone who is good at sports." If this had all the games in the original Sports games (both of them), plus some new additions, it could have been one of the best games on Switch. As it stands, now, it's just a mediocre game that kinda doesn't make sense, as far as why it was even made. It feels like something they meant to make a lot bigger, but didn't give it the budget to do so.
Also, with Prime Remastered, I actually turned up my volume to hear the music, and then you said "MY LORD," really loud, and everyone except me in my house is asleep, so, if they got woken up by you, I expect a full apology video by the end of the week.
Something I really appreciate about these Switch yearly overview vids is how effectively Scott shows his personal reaction (or general reaction) to a game announcement at that time, almost in a time capusle-like way and the reaction when said game actually does release.
Man 2022 was a fun year to be a sonic fan The movie, frontiers being a solid title the announcement for updates that added better stuff to frontiers It was good :)

The choppy background characters in Kirby and the forgotten land show how Nintendo is and will probably be one of the best in optimizing their games. A handheld with a chipset that's nearly 9 years old and the game looks great!

1:38:13 I think the other problem with Square Enix, is their release schedule is too dense with games that are too similar (RPGs), so they end up cannibalizing their own sales since people may only have the time/money to invest in one game at a time.
48:32 Thanks for being thorough with the list of Nintendo Switch launches. I completely forgot that Elves Fantasy Hentai Puzzle released in July of 2022 I had been looking forward to that
I have an unhealthy amount of love for this specific series of yours - glad you're continuing the tradition regardless of the waning interest in the Switch
Right, interest is waning.. despite the Switch selling more units in 2023 than the previous year, and Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Wonder being the fastest selling games in their series. Clearly nobody gives a shit about the switch anymore lol
Thank you for this series of videos, getting to reminisce about the year paired with your excellent critique and comedy is always a treat. I'm glad you were able to do it again this year, and hope you continue to next year and beyond!
1:30:02 as a Pokemon fan, I have to admit, Scott really hit the nail on head when approaching Scarlet/Violet. The new things to tinker around with in the games are really interesting and fun, but are overshadowed by the game’s EXTREMELY poor performance and quality due to it being released under the same year PLA was released and not taking any extra time to patch everything up. And what disappoints me is that GF or TPC tried or at least I think they tried to make a good first impression for Pokemon being on a hybrid home console, but either weren’t able to, or just flat out didn’t feel like it. One could argue it really tainted non-pokemon players’ perception of the games, and I personally feel like the Pokemon games on switch won’t be as fondly remembered as their predecessors
I pretty much gave up on the mainline Pokemon games after Sword and Shield. (Except Legends: Arceus.) Fangames/ROM hacks tend to innovate more, and indie games can capture the original spirit of the series better than Game Freak. I highly recommend Cassette Beasts, which is in the latter category and isn't afraid to use its more advanced battle mechanics like Pokemon is.

9:51 is easily one of Scott's best jokes. Had me absolutely rolling.
i still can't get enough of scott's devastated "he f*cked?" in barrel blast
couldn't agree more
1:05:54 This is one of my favorite Scott The Woz commedic moments now.
I was almost crying I was laughing so hard
He literally returned to monkey, and became Scott the monk.
It's crazy that Scott actually got into an RPG. Xenoblade is only a matter of time
Several RPGs at that. Fire Emblem Engage and Live A Live seem to have really taken him, and he's already mentioned how much he likes Dragon Quest and Persona.
i pray that we get a xenoblade X remake/definitive edition and that he gets into the mecha mindset through that (mechas are cool)
Hahahahhahahahahhaha

Yeah

thank you for going back and giving some deserved love for honestly my favorite Kirby game! Return to Dream Land is iconic, it's designed for multiplayer and it hits all the Kirby tropes right on the head. The remaster even adds a ton of new content to a game that already has a NG+ !

Somthing about Scott’s outro makes the whole video feel so much better. I felt like I just watch 2 hours about switch games but when that amazing outro song comes on it’s feels like somthing special
Scott might not be a mailman, but he never fails to deliver
If my mailman delivered something 7 months late, I'd be hesitant to call that a successful delivery
Emphasis on "might"
Sadly, the mail was on fire, so was the delivery worth it.

Scott singing the high praises of Shovel Knight in this video and in the eshop Halloween special makes me hope that someday he’ll give the series its own dedicated video.
Man I'm SO GLAD you liked Live A Live. This game is truly special. I hope you got the best ending. The true final boss became one of my favorite final fights.
I love when Scott releases movie-length videos I'd rather watch than actual movies.
A 2 hour Switch retrospective video near Halloween. We love your content Scott. I’ve recently finished watching a 6 hour retrospective of the first 5 year in videos, and I’m ready to dive in to this.
The amount of effort you did to work on this video makes it worth it
As someone who lived through the dark days of Nintendo console support, seeing the release crawl for every month made me realize how much things have changed. Nice
that joke at 1:15:36 was probably one of the funniest jokes ive seen, love u scott
It went by so fast I had to rewind to make sure it was real, his humor is top tier
@@bob171 same lol
@@bob171 For me, I laughed so hard because it didn't feel like _his humor._ The timing and delivery were so atypical. Tell me Scott compares something to the death of Abraham Lincoln and I'd believe you, but it _definitely_ wouldn't look the same in my head.
The biggest issue with Switch Sports is how disgustingly “corporate friendly” it feels
1:31:34 the words 'furry hentai' are officially in a scott the woz video
Funny story, I initially thought from a twitter post Scott did he said he was gonna stop doings yearly switch vids , which I guess misinterpreted cause he actually said he was gonna stop doing 5 year videos , so seeing 6th was definitely a pleasant surprise.

Scott you son of a gun, that lincoln joke at 1:15:41 almost made me choke to death, great video, 10/10 would choke again.
I know! Make it Rocket League, but as if you were playing Rocket League on the same size field as the ones for cars, and you were a pretty average person, not a car or even someone who is good at sports."
If this had all the games in the original Sports games (both of them), plus some new additions, it could have been one of the best games on Switch.
Man 2022 was a fun year to be a sonic fan
The movie, frontiers being a solid title the announcement for updates that added better stuff to frontiers
It was good :)
This is perfect. This dropped just when I finished rewatching the years 1 to five, and the "Game Cube: Shaping a generation" video, and was in need of a long video to listen to.
Scott never fails to make one of these every year and make it perfectly.

The beginning of the January section was amazing. A worthy successor to that Nintendo TH-camr bit from an older video.
Oh boy, it's the video where Scott the Woz talks about Xenoblade Chronicles 3, my favorite story-driven game ever made! I can't wait to see what he thinks of it!

Great retrospective on the 6th year of nintendo switch Scott! Can't wait to see what year you do next!
The choppy background characters in Kirby and the forgotten land show how Nintendo is and will probably be one of the best in optimizing their games. A handheld with a chipset that's nearly 9 years old and the game looks great!

My farts are better than Scott's farts.
Man when Scott said “Hey all”, I knew this video was gonna be a banger
1:38:13 I think the other problem with Square Enix, is their release schedule is too dense with games that are too similar (RPGs), so they end up cannibalizing their own sales since people may only have the time/money to invest in one game at a time.
I miss hearing a "Hey all!" on a Sunday. Great job as always Scott!
48:32 Thanks for being thorough with the list of Nintendo Switch launches. I completely forgot that Elves Fantasy Hentai Puzzle released in July of 2022 I had been looking forward to that

1:18:06 might just be my favourite Woz moment ever
Scott's rant about more kirby just killed me 😂😂😂😂. Glad to see more videos.
There are already people fondly remembering Let's Go and Sword/Shield and Nintendo hasn't even revealed the Switch 2 yet...
I pretty much gave up on the mainline Pokemon games after Sword and Shield. (Except Legends: Arceus.)
Fangames/ROM hacks tend to innovate more, and indie games can capture the original spirit of the series better than Game Freak. I highly recommend Cassette Beasts, which is in the latter category and isn't afraid to use its more advanced battle mechanics like Pokemon is.
And then he missed the mark by calling legends arceus “half-baked” (??????)
I hate to nitpick but if you're going to type out an entire wall of words there's no reason to abbreviate games or companies. 😶
