      @@RobJorg I guess my biggest concern with buying the Nikon d750 is there's no I auto focus like today's cameras today's cameras just follow the eye everywhere it goes and I want to shoot portraits is it difficult to nail the eye focus on somebody with the 750?

    • @RobJorg
      @RobJorg  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      D780 has that i believe. that it doesnt have eye AF is one of the things i miss. not everything has eyes. i used to shoot with 1 AF point most of the time in AF-C and on my D850 i would even shoot manual focus. the new generation is way to much " the camera does everything for you".

    Thank you so much for the video. I’m planning to purchase my very first DSLR which is Nikon D750 along with 85mm 1.8 + 50mm 1.8 G lens. I’m wondering is it still worth to buy this camera considering 5 years old?.
    Purpose of buying a camera is for taking Portraits, Still, Landscape, Bird, Product photography (learning) and of course my kids.
    It would be really great if you throw some lights on my concern to make a wise decision.... other options I have considered is Nikon D780 with one of the lens and Z6ii with the kit lens... apart from D780 and Z6ii I have been suggesting to go with D850 with the kit lens.
    Thank you and looking forward to your recommendation.

      Hi, i think so. i own this setup and i am not selling it any time soon. i shot some of my best works with this setup. remember end of day it is the photographer who takes the picture, not the camera. all most iconic images have been shot with old tech camera's. from a financial investment perspective. the camera is a great camera but there are newer camera's out there that are incrementally better or offer new features like the video on the Z6-II but they are more expensive. if you can buy this camera for a great price i would consider it. end of day its important what makes you feel good. don;t forget to buy good glass and calibrate your lens to your DSLR.

      @@RobJorg thank so much Rob, wonderful suggestion. Sure will consider your advise to make my decision. Video features is very useful too but somehow I’m not convinced with mirrorless but still considering Z6ii because of expensive lens price tag on them.

      Don buy the Z6 (first edition) Z6-II is better but not the best. reason i would stick with Nikon is that the menu is great and it fits the hand. the Z6-II has all the things you want to do but lenses are more expensive, however DSLR has had its longest time so if you see it as an investment the Z is the way but D is proven tech and has cheaper options. i could imagen that i would buy a D750 and Good lens to learn the skills and train my photographers eye. for everyday i use the D750, for high-end print and studio/landscape i would use the D850(because i have it) but i used the D750 for my best studio work.
      Get a coffee and think of the purpose of your purchase. is it stills, video or both. then ask your self what your budget is. are you very skilled and photography is life or is it a hobby and you want to learn. where are you in your learning. this all narrows down the camera that fits your needs. i have multiple camera's and have a list of camera's that i would like to buy. because all has its own place. a medium format for high-end commercial prints, high megapixel fullframe (D850) because thats what i could effort, another full frame (D750) because that fit my needs few years ago. a Canon rebel because that is what i could effort in those days and i was learning when i went to photography school. a Sony A6600 only for video because that is what i need to right now to focus on more and better videos (starting next week). so needs, budget,.........................................wants. in that order.

      @@RobJorg That's a really detailed explanation and narrowing down my choices. Here is my homework before I decided to purchase I made some choices based on my budget and wants (learning include).
      1. Budget (have a budget to offer D780 with one lens either 85mm 1.8 + sturdy tripod).
      2. I am brand new to photography and have no previous experience but I love to get into product and landscape photography.
      3. I prefer both photo and video but don't want to spend too much in one go especially Mirrorless because of the expensive lens which I may not afford sooner.
      4. Currently I am in the learning phase so I don't think I will go for printing anytime soon, so D850 or Z7ii might not help and both are expensive.
      5. I am planning to get into product and portrait photography as my business, 2 years from now.
      I hope this will give you a better understanding of my choice and concern. I don't want to spend money on equipment which is wrong and not serve my purpose so I am seeking advice to make a wise decision.

    Hi ...i bought d750 and i am very happy for photography with 50mm1.8g lens.....i needed a zoom lens shall i buy 28-300 nikkor lens will image quality and sharpness will be nice or should need to go to tamron 24-70 f2.8g u2 lens...considering these two which is in my budget and also i need one lens for travel.thanks....

    • @RobJorg
      @RobJorg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hi, welcome. personally i would go for the Tamron 24-70 (review is on the channel.) and the 70-200 both the G2 version. but you would have 2 lenses to carry around. i have the 24-70 G2 and its on my camera always. its a most used focal length for my use case. i have no experience with the 28-300 so i cant advice you on that lens. my advice would be. buy from a shop with a return policy. shoot images in both Raw and Jpeg and check on your computer up close and zoom in. if the quality is what you find acceptable you can go from there. please don't forget to fine tune the camera to the lens before you go test.
      50mm f1.8 is a good lens. i have the 85mm f1.8.

      will check on 28-300 and then decide as you say.... thank you...
