Mr. Jackson, Sir, Thank you so much for this video. You have no idea how much it saved me today. I shot my first wedding ever with my first real camera ever (which just happens to be a Nikon D810) and I was really lost on what settings I should use. I watched this video 2 hours before I went to the wedding and it was immensely helpful, even for a simpleton like myself. I've subscribed and am a big fan now. Thank you again for this video.
I always applied your idea and it helped me alot in my career as in start I was nothing but now I am really really good So a big thank you and love from me
Great video! I shoot with a D750 and my next two lens purchases will be the 85mm and a 70-200mm. I'm not a huge wedding photographer but do feel the need for these for that purpose.
I spent my first few years renting a 70-200 whenever I needed it. Might be an option if it’s not something you’ll need all the time. 85 is for sure a good investment to own though
Hey. Am from India and i like your video and watch. Your explanation is very good. Am biggest fan of you and your photography tips .☺😊✌✌✌✌❤📷📷📷📷📷📷📷📷📷📷📷📷
Interesting. I have the back button focus to start the metering, and I focus on the spot I want. Then I let go and half press for the IS to kick in and take the shot. It doesn't sound like there's that much difference in the outcome of either approach, unless I'm missing something.
this vedio is gold 💛 for us.. & Yes I want to start professional .shoots..📽..But not have professional camera..😄🙌..Plz make vedio on best affordable cameras🙏
Great video! How do you manage to lock focus on the eye of moving subjects while using single point autofocus and shallow depth of field manually? (without eye af) Isn't it very difficult?
Sorry to bother you, Taylor! Did you mean the tamron 35 f1.8 (not 1.4) as your preferred hybrid lens? I bought the 85 1.8 on your recommendation and am looking for a 35 now too. Thank you.
I love Nikon and they have the new Z 6ii and z 7ii. I wanted the Z 7 II but you use the Z 6ii. I know you have the D850 but if you needed a back up what would you choose z611 or z7ii? and any one feel free to drop in the conversation. I do Swim, Water Polo, Band and Newborn photography and weddings!
Hi Taylor! I have the Nikom D750 and was wondering where on the settings I turn off the Auto-S focus so that I can for sure capture the once in a life time moments on camera?

you have a editor ? who does that work for you, and are the photos then as you want? mood/color/ etc ? i know it's alot to do it all on your own, but most people who start don't have or cant efford somebody who does that work for you..
The plus of back button Af is that you have Af-s,Af-c and Af lock all in one keep it pressed Af-c, focus and release the button you have a lock on it and in the same way by pressing and depressing you have Af-s ... it takes a while to get used to it but it is worth it, une setting less to worry about while shooting, and faster than using the shutter button half pressed.
Taylor Jackson , Hi Taylor, personal preferences and shooting habits are okay as long as you get the results that you are happy with, I don’t shoot weddings, however they have the same technical challenges as events and performances, which I still do from time to time, and I don’t find back button focussing giving me any disadvantage, actually quite the opposite, but I have to confess that I have been using it for a very long time and at the beginning it was very difficult to get used to it, muscle memory isn’t straight forward on either remembering or forgetting... Personally after almost 20 years of shutter button focussing the discovery of back button was a god blessing, the only time I go into the Af settings is to switch between 3D tracking and single every blue moon, as I use single point 99% of the times.
nice review. I haven't understood if you are shooting finally in AF-S or AF-C. In AFC, how many points ? how do you select the eye and track it with your 85mm F/1.4 ? i have a d750 and 70-200 2.8 vr
I know this is a year late and you may have upgraded your gear, but if you're shooting with a DSLR still, use the 3D tracking in AF-C for the best accuracy. I did so on my D7500 before trading it in and it worked very well. If you're on mirrorless Z6/Z7 II, AF-C with human eye tracking is good until you happen to be shooting through a bunch of people. At that point, use the Wide-L with Eye and Face detection to have the camera focus on just a small portion of the frame instead of the whole thing. Hope this helps!
Man... The knowledge that you have when it comes to photography... SALUTE👌🏽

There are many videos on Events & Portraits / D850 on TH-cam. Did you buy D850 new or?
Taylor Jackson - great video as always. The D700 was 12.1MP, and one of my absolute favorite cameras.
John Martin can you say why. I’m thinking about buying one. Also what’s a good used price for one

Is 70-200 not too heavy?
@@polinakua8528 I think it can be heavy if used the whole wedding.

How it feels when you have such kind of DSLRs and mirrorless Z6

Tylor Jackson 😍😍📷📷📷
I am sony user but still love your videos 😊
Very nice 🤘
You have to set the Live exposure ON in your live view so you don't have to do test shots on d750
Am crazy for this ♥️
AWESOME

It wouldn’t be a benefit to me shooting weddings sadly.

Awesome video. What white balance do you use for weddings?
Usually shade unless I have to use something else
