Thank you for an informative and interesting test drive. Just to clarify additionally, which one of them (TX, Acura, Grand Highlander, etc) has the most comfortable/smoothest ride quality? Also, does the F Sport version of the TX have a much stiffer suspension compared to other trims or not?
All i'm hearing is that this is the best new mom car. Sign me up 😂 I don't care about none of the deal breakers mentioned here. I just got approved for it and i can't wait to pick my 350 LUX AWD up. And I stop liking you once you mention you don't like the body. This car is a beauty!! 😮
we just got our 350, three people were test driving our car as we were finalizing the paperwork. excellent car. drives small for such a big car and fuel economy is surprisingly good. if you don't goose it too much. we're getting $23 to $26 around town mpg
wow, you are the only honest reviewer on TH-cam, everybody else just blindly gave rosey comments. Thank you for your honestly and it helps us a lot. Knowing the Cons is actually hugely important to the buyers.
I owned a 2023 MDX Type S (BEFORE IT GOT TOTALLED 😢) but it did not get anywhere near 22mpg combined. I would get 22mpg on ALL HIGHWAY but combined I'd get 18-19mpg just driving in normal mode normal like a regular person. All city driving was like 15mpg. The mpg alone was why I didn't go purchase another MDX Type S.
You can buy a tablet holder, if you want one the dealers also sell their Lexus branded ones. And then just snap on a IPad. It’s definitely going to be better than any other rear seat entertainment
Thanks for the feedback. I actually just test drove this and when I returned I explained that it sounded like a window was down. You experienced the same thing... wind tunnel sound? What is that?
I don’t think you should be comparing the TX to the X7 or GLS. Both of those compete with things like Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, etc.
The GLS can’t compare to anything, it’s a peice of garbage, the X7 is a Range Rover competitor IMO (it’s not as spacious as other fullsize SUVs), the Escalade, Navigator, and Geand Wagoner compete with each other
Acura MDX build quality since 2014 till now is not getting any better ,,, Throttle Body would need to be replaced, Front or back shock after 4 years (warranty) would need replacement, control arms..etc and still timing belt ,,,,and Acura MDX has no overhead ac vent (it has lame underseat vent for the 3rd row lol)!! Acura MDX still hasn't had any much change since 2014 YEP ! Get Lexus!
This is the biggest vehicle that Lexus has EVER produced and is being marketed directly to larger American families, but I can't even get it with 7 seats in the upper trims with the better powertrains? What idiot at Lexus made that design decision? My only choice to fit my 5 kids is the tx350 with a little turbo 4 banger powering this heavy boat for over 60k? FAIL. Lexus designers and decision makers are incompetent.
I wouldn’t buy a Acura or Hyundai because I’m not spending my money on cars that are not reliable!!! Toyota or Lexus are 10x times more reliable. I would get the TX 500h hybrid not the Max I want the MPG!!! I have a brand new Toyota Venza it gets 41 miles per gallon and some people have test it and have gotten 48 miles per gallon and with the 2 electric motors it get off the line fast with the all wheel drive
I was in complete agreement with you. we even had a deposit on a Blue Grand Highlander. we decided just to test drive this one and my wife was hooked. there's a little more buttoned down handling and quietness in the car. and seemed like there was a little bit more room in the second and third rows then the Grand Highlander. I think it has a couple more inches overall length. for our situation, we were looking at a hybrid Max at 57k with an additional dealer markup of $4,100. we picked up our Lexus, TX for 53,700 after a little negotiating with the dealer. And I think there's a video out there that shows the 178 changes in the engineering and refinement area from the Lexus folks. so it is definitely a more refined car, it competes well with equipment levels on the mid to high level Grand Highlanders. I wouldn't say it competes with the base Highlander. just my two cents. we really love it so far and it's been on two road trips to Legoland and San Diego
@@salocin911 I just got a 2021 Highlander with a V6 in it. I didn’t want a 4 cylinder turbo so I bought used. A 4 banger with a turbo scared me because that means it’s lacking power to move the car but the car is a good car though the newer highlanders and grand highlanders
I feel TX 350 premium compares better with Toyota Grand Highlander Platinum hybrid max which is the same price. The toyota naming of cars is kind of ridiculous. How many bold words u need to sell ur car? Let ur car do the talking.
There are no pros for this car. Only cons The tx looks ugly, the interior is cheap and outdated, no features to speak of, tech is both dated and useless. Interior space isn’t better than a telluride. No 8th seat. Pathetic powertrains. The tx350 is as slow as a corolla or Kia Rio. The 500h F Sport Performance (yeah right 😂🙄) isn’t much faster than a telluride palisade pilot cx90 Explorer 2.3 but it’s still slower than a base aviator, MDX type s, gv80 3.5T, x5, Explorer ST, Durango RT, SRT. The 550h+ is way overpriced starting at $78k, and very slow, and not more efficient than an xc90 or x5xDrive50e Handling falls way behind any other 3 row competition, ride isn’t as good as the air suspension options, and it’s way overpriced overall So just as I have said over and over, the tx is such a disappointment. It’s so underwhelming that it’s not even funny. It’s DOA compared to the competition. Too little too late
Go back to your Tata Nano, Naveen. Funny thing - Naveen comments from Mumbai India and has never even touched a Lexus. He saved for 10+ years to get the $500 Tata Nano and is now pissed that he can never get a Lexus 🤣🤣
@@MLDS-ok9vp I’m in the USA lol. Ive driven Lexus as loaners while my car was getting serviced. The UX IS NX ES were just lackluster compared to my car
@@b286guy why drive it? It’s very simple. Take a rav4. Stretch it. Give it 3 rows. Give it ugly lipstick. Charge 20k more. Thats what the tx is. Drives exactly like a cheap Highlander. Just like the es drives the exact same way as a Camry. Theres zero difference
Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! Lexus TX or Acura MDX...or Toyota Grand Highlander?

Easy
Literally any other 3 row is superior to the Tx and grand highlander
Love your vids! I will mention that the reason the grill looks like that is for aerodynamics. That is the reason the v6 plug in is able to get 30mpg.
@@rishinarang9966 😎🫶
If I only needed two rows with an occasional use third row, the MDX for sure. If I needed three rows and max cargo probably a Grand Highlander.
I very much appreciate your real, candid reviews. So many reviewers fail to address the negatives in any meaningful way. Thank you.
👍👍

We just picked up a TX 350 Luxury. You’ll love it

@salocin911 I love hearing that it gets good gas mileage. The TX is definitely on my list of vehicles to test drive.

Glad the video was helpful 🙏
Great balanced and honest review!
i saw it 2 times already both in black and at night, this things was so gorgeous
It's boring ASF who you kidding

Have you bought a TX then?
I mean it’s an suv what do you expect? If you care about mpg drive a sedan or compact suv
Does anyone know if you can get a rear DVD player or some type of back seat tablet to keep the kids entertained in the TX lineup?
Just buy an ipad holder or portable dvd player. Those things are really cheap
You can buy a tablet holder, if you want one the dealers also sell their Lexus branded ones. And then just snap on a IPad. It’s definitely going to be better than any other rear seat entertainment
The 550h+ doesn't have twin turbos. It has a normally aspirated V-6.
Wrong. It has a tri turbo v8.
Thanks for the feedback. I actually just test drove this and when I returned I explained that it sounded like a window was down. You experienced the same thing... wind tunnel sound? What is that?
Maybe it's the air conditioner. Lexus's air conditioner is very powerful, so you can turn down the air conditioner's fan speed.
Small correction the 550h+ has a naturally aspirated V6, not a twin turbo. You may be thinking of the GX550. And the 550h+ is out from today.
Thanks, yes misspoke
I'm deciding on this 500h or Mdx TypeS. Mpg is a biggie and bench seat is too
I do wish it had a V6. That is really my only hang up, oh and the front end, though I havent seen it in person, it isn't my favorite.
Now they do have the TX550h, which has a V6.. sadly it’s 80k but they technically offer one
I don’t think you should be comparing the TX to the X7 or GLS. Both of those compete with things like Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, etc.

Front wheel is called a spindle body
Great review. 500h still seems pricy
The looks sucks. But i love the interior. I need Lexus to make this interior size in a GX look but not at the LX600 price! Ugh

Cadillac xt6 is old now but i would still choose it because of the supercruise option
Me too. I’d choose the xt6 as it’s a superior vehicle in every aspect to the TX and RX

What SUV has power operating second row seats????
GLS
and the GLS with similar appointments is 40% more expensive@@dwnshft
What suv has this feature?
Kia ev9? Hyundai Santa Fe? Kia carnival SX prestige? 😂
Ever heard of these LOL?
Love my base model
Whatever the price is, if the electrically controlled 2nd row takes too long to fold for 3rd row access, i'd gladly take manual control
Exactly! If it's not time saving, what's the point
