Yeah, good for you. Everyone has their idea of attractiveness so I don't necessarily fault a woman because she might find taller guys more attractive, but to instantly disqualify someone because of that and put that on a profile to me says something about that person. I'm 5'8" and I generally prefer a man to be taller than me, but even that comes with exceptions. A few years ago, I dated a man who was shorter than me. We had an incredible connection, so I found that his height didn't matter. So I guess I'm saying I prefer a man taller than me, but it's not a deal breaker. Like all other aspects of a man, it's the whole package that matters. What doesn't make sense to me is that my super short gal pals (5'3" or thereabouts) won't date shorter than 6'. That's crazy. There are so many amazing men that they miss out on because of that. Hell, he could be 5'6" and still be taller than she is.

I had both. My father is currently single but has had non-stop terrible relationships that I don't want any part of. My mother married my step-father 25 years ago. My scale definitely fell in a certain direction.
My father has 6 siblings. All divorced. My mother has 4 siblings. All but 1 are divorced. With odds like that I'm not taking the chance. My parents are still together but only because of how strongly mother was as she didn't want to negatively impact the lives of me and my brothers. Now we have a relatively good life. I dont ever want to be the person that has to go through what my mother did, nor do I want to force someone through what my mother had to put up with (it was only financial problems but still).
I thought I didn't have very tough standards but apparently a woman who doesn't smoke, isn't a heavy drinker, isnt obese and is loyal, doesn't exist. The odds are so stacked against having a fun and successful relationship that going monk is the only logical move.

I love my daughter, but going through the family court system was the worst experience of my life. If there was a one-off court date it would be one thing, but dealing with the police and having frequent court dates is very stressful. Be careful out there if you're a young guy in the dating market. It's a rough game out there.

I was talking to my Mom this morning about how I just don't have the energy or will to really put in the massive effort of the game women put on. I went through this when I was younger and was dating my first girlfriend. I thought always being 100% honest with her would be the best policy for a lasting relationship, so one time I decided to talk to her about how I wasn't always 100% head-over-heels for her all day every day, even though I cared about her a lot and wanted to stay with her. You just nailed it. Having a girlfriend often requires constant dates, activities, gifts and your time to keep a woman interested. You're right, it just becomes unsustainable and undesirable after a point. What you get back is usually not worth what you have to put into a relationship.
