I just watched their documentary on K-DOC. Megan is so blessed to have found her mother(in-law). She loves her so much. I cried when she said she didn't want to just be "in-laws" but her family, her mother. Truly favoured by God to have been given such a gift.

your mother in law crying was so sweet, because she understands the sacrifice your parents went through to give their blessings to you when you moved to korea to be with your husband. she recognizes that they are sacrificing their time with you and that she’s the one who benefits from it, and is grateful to them for it. such a wonderful moment full of emotion.

As a Filipino American who grew up with a lot of Black friends in Queens, NY, it's cute because I know African American families are generally warmer and express their love more openly than Asian families. (All Asians know this already). So it's nice to see that influence they have on your Korean side of the family to open up more.

I hope you kept some of those crying photos during the session. Those little tantrums can be hard to deal with in the moment, but the photos will be hilarious once the babies are older. In watching your videos i have noticed that the Korean people are givers. They give time, advice, and presents. They share their lives and knowledge freely. When my dad was young he served in the army and was stationed in Korea for many years. I loved hearing his stories. I just wish we had gotten them written down. Thanks for sharing once again.

That one is like a custom. When you are visiting a family or someone's house... I thought it was common even in the west...
And also most Asian love language is giving gifts and act of service... The words seems hard to say but it is easier to show it through act of service

Giving can be done in many forms.. you can give gifts, your time , love, affection , listening skills, etc. Both families gave but it different ways. As people we need to recognize there are different ways to show appreciation. Just because two different cultures expressed giving differently doesn't mean the other culture is not doing it. I am African American and sometimes we give gifts others times we give our time, we give resources, affection comfort. Giving comes in many forms. If you're not African American ..don't speak on a culture you don't belong to
