I personally tested a lot of note taking app, I started years ago with Evernote, passed through Notion but, at the end, when I started using Obsidian I just felt in love with it. At the beginning it may not seems to be the most simple app to set up, but once you get used to it, you will love it.
I write a lot of my personal thoughts in Evernote, building my own model of reality of sorts.
Creative ideas, observations, hypotheses, commentary on society, diary etc.
While I do use Notion, I personally find it better suited to organize information (like data I gathered on a particular topic from the internet), tasks and such as opposed to a notebook meant to collect my raw thoughts.
Would you say Obsidian would be a good fit for that?
@@anmolagrawal5358 I use Obsidian pretty much for everything. Thanks to Templater plugin I can easly organize different types of note structure, for example my daily notes for journaling. Features like backlinks and canvas help you to link your thoughts and do a lot of brainstorming.
It's not the best native app for tasks, infact I use Todoist but thanks to Todoist plugin I can manage all my tasks directly from my Obsidian vault. I also use Readwise as my "read it later" app or to caputre stuffs from the internet or podcast highlights from Snipd app, and with Readwise plugin I will find all of this directly in my Obsidian Vault, and for every type of notes you can also set a custom template.
Let’s say that with apps like Notion you have everything ready to use, with Obsidian you can do almost everything but you just need to play a bit around it and use some plugins.

It's a pretty good begInner friendly app
You can add pictures, Audio file, To do lists
I actually use Excel for Notes! Seriously, because I set up hyperlinks and tabs and once happy and I convert to PDF!
