Been considering the bishop wand packer. Currently have the Cheyenne sol terra, and it’s just not pushing the bigger needles (9+) the way it’s supposed to. Any suggestions?
The packer is decent for line work. I’ve also tried the flux max 4.5 and the sol nova unlimited 5.0 which are both good for line work. The acus m1 with 4.5mm cam can push 21 liner no probs. Also the rotary works pen with a 4mm cam should be decent.
I go over that in my review if the shader. But In a nutshell I just prefer the brushless motor over the brushed as I feel like I have more control of the machine.
I would say the wand packer is better for line work and stipple shading, the Cheyenne 4.0 is a bit more forgiving when it comes to colouring and shading.
@@ThatTattooShow in that case if it’s to line and stipple primarily, would the liner be the better option Do you think? And I agree the m unlimited is a bit forgiving but I do like that about it, the thunder I have is not forgiving at all :P
Whats the lowest voltage you’ve been able to work with critical battery? Seen some review where it tells that critical battery is not able to operate the machine on lower voltages like 4.5V.. I would really love to try this machine and I want go wirelessl, but those hiccups don’t let me to make strong decision to press that button which has “To Buy” sigh on it 🤔
Some motors don’t run until you hit 4 volts same as some motors don’t run until you hit 9 volts. I’m sure the lowest the battery goes is around 4 or 4.5 (I’ll check on Tuesday when I’m in the shop)
Been considering getting one of these and been waiting for this video because I love your honesty on all your reviews. Definitely given me something to think about especially with the new power wands imminent release
Received yesterday.. very satisfied.. lines really well.. like REALLY WELL.. and packs Black literally effortlessly.. I had a video come up on my feed from Oliver Mc'Ayre.. he was advised to run it at 4.5volt and it shades really soft n nice.. had a live video of a piece he did with it at that setting.. shading is def very smooth.. and looks like it's still well saturating at that voltage. So.. again.. thanks for the review Chris.. very happy with the purchase
Depends what you are doing really. I prefer the packer wand for line work over the flux although I think it needs a stainless steel grip for some added weight. I can’t comment on the power wand but I’m sure it’s going to be like using a packer with a critical battery, just with better balance maybe. They both have pro’s and cons depending on what you do.
I’m hoping to get hold of one as I’d love to compare it not only to the current wireless machines that are available. But compare it to the wand and critical combo.
I think they are over charging to be honest. $200 extra if you buy them together with a direct fit rather than using the RCA version of the critical battery.
Great review as always Chris.. strange, was literally looking at the reviews of this and the liner lastnight.. and was leaning toward the packer.. not interested in the shader, have enough shorter stroke shaders.. it can get ridiculous yo just keep buying em 🤣🤦♂️ - but I loved the idea of the packer with seperate battery. I think you just sold it to me.. just a quick question.. you got any more of an opinion on the Neuma 4 since the review.. Is the bishop packer preferable to the Neuma??
Thanks bud. Ahhh yeah I’m waiting on the neuma being sent back to me so I can use it more and do a proper test etc. I only had it a few days so couldn’t test it the way I do with my other reviews.
So they are charging you a couple hundred extra dollars if you get the new version of the wand that has a direct fit with critical battery pack instead of just paying $1100 for two rca critical batteries then purchasing the wand separately. Is $200 worth it for a direct connect instead of the RCA fitting? Idk….
Chris.. I hope ur on the mend mate.. Finally got round to ordering one a these lil monkeys.. prob woukdnt of had I not heard ur review.. you and Paul are about the ONLY reviews I genuinely trust.. partly gut feeling, which I have learned to trust over the years. Spidey senses 🤣🤣 plus the fact you dont hold back in slating a product if it's not what its claiming to be. I entertained the shader, due to the fact I do alot of b&g realism.. but in truth I have a stack of machines I like.. that are very good for this already.. and your shader review put that idea to bed anyway.. but I was in need of a steady reliable harder hitter.. the liner at 5ml looked good, a lil scary 😖😬 but good I'm sure.. but your review confirmed for me that the packer has enough punch for the work I do.. and liked the idea of the 3-4inch machine.. I didnt go for the critical battery.. I would if they did a single battery option.. I feel like their taking the piss.. apparently 1 lasts 12hrs.. why the F would I need 2 of em.. yes, I could write it off on tax but I just think they're cheeky.. plus i dont really mind Wires.. I'm kinda over that initial early days excitement of Wirekess.. it's cool.. but it doesnt really change much when your sitting on a chair, next to your station witha client 🤔🤷♂️ Anyway.. will let you know my thoughts.. Again.. I hope your feeling ok.. on the mend and baring up .. getting over covid is unpleasant.. it left me with lower back ache, much worse than norm standard tattooistlower back ache.. and hip ache also, which I'd NEVER had b4.. the good news.. it did pass.. Get well soon m8.. your smily face is missed on the show 👊🏻
Volume warning: very low sound speech compared to the tattoo machine buzzing sound in the transition clips. So if you like me listened to the video in the car on the stereo. Watch out for the horrible high sound when transition clips come up cause youve cranked up the volume to hear the speech
Aye I think the levels were off on that one. Rookie mistake on my part, chris scratch that..: I just went back and listened to it and on the iPhone and computer speakers it’s not to loud. So maybe the car stereo?
You can use a fantom cam on the wand I just did it to my packer and made it 3.5 best of both worlds lots of punch but also a great all rounder stroke length
I have the shader it is amazing I do not have the packer but I use my shader for everything it is very versatile sorry bro I have to defend bishop and the SHADER they made an amazing product… Watching the owner of bishop talking about each machine and its specific use you can understand how the machines are supposed to work so that’s my suggestion guys great video I can’t wait to try out the color packer!!
I feel that way about every bishop they made they all work very similar but specifically different depending the way you tattoo. Some people know how to tattoo with anything. Some people can only tattoo with certain tools. I think thats just what it comes down to
I know right haha. But we have to do them in order of when we receive the products. Also we are making this between tattooing, drawing and spending time with family.
Bishop packer Vs Flux which one is a better all rounder ? I’d appreciate the feedback
Same. Especially for fine lining

why didnt you like the shader?

Wait, so if the packer can deliver great lines, bold and fine, plus packing colors. why would people buy the liner?
That’s what I’m wondering too. Perhaps the liner is just allround better for lining (thin lines but also very thick ones) not sure tho
i believe the liner is for bigger needle groupings
Witch machine from does 3 machine will u recommend for a beginner
I would get the packer and the shader. Or the Cheyenne sol nova, or the fkirons flux.
@@ThatTattooShow thanks a lot for the info
What is it about the cheap Amazon batteries that mess with the motors over time?
Un consistency in voltage and not as reliable power
That will be answered in a video.
I have the Cheyenne unlimited 3.5 and 4.0, do love the 4.0 to line and pack…… is the wand packer much different ? If so how mate?
Cheers

have you tried the in inclaw battery?
Is that the one that is the battery and the grip together? I haven’t and won’t as it’s a terrible idea for a battery.
@@ThatTattooShow no it’s not it’s just a battery that you can use for rca Cheyenne etc. It’s really nice and not that expensive

Flux or this for lining 😳 i need a new liner and cant decide baring in mind I do a lot of dot work 🙏🏼 any advise would be amazing.
Packer is a better liner I think .
Liner 100%
what you guys think on the next generation on the bishop machine with critical battery that will come out soon?

Thank you so much for a review ! Also when I change needles sometimes the machine makes a loud beebing noise what does that mean ??
No worries at all.
Are you talking about the power wand or the regular one? Not sure why it would make that noise tbh.
I have the same problem.. i had no idea why, but i think the whole time its my batterie pack but now i know its the machine..
The wireless one comes out Friday $1300 “Power Wand” it’s called by bishop
