Can you take the motor out on the power wand the same as this? I can’t seem to unscrew the back like this to get to the motor and backside of the housing to clean
What if I had that noise at the beginning after purchasing it? I love the machine my wife bought one as a birthday gift for me I’m happy with it. But I’m little scared to damage it. It’s a bunch of money that she paid to support me. I love her and appreciate that she’s believing in me and my art and I won’t do nothing wrong with the machine. I love all bishop products and using it for a couple years and I always saved money to buy me a packer and she surprised me with one of these. Much love for y’all and a big thank you for my wife. ❤️
The Power wand was designed to not have to be maintained through any removal of the back plate. Check the maintenance guide or contact customer service for any specific questions on wand maintenance.
We would not suggest Vaseline, since it is not a mechanical lubricant. Petroleum based lubricants can cause damage to your machine. The Krytox, provided with every machine, is the recommended lubricant for metal ad machine parts.
I own a wand pen and now refuse to use it. Cartridges are in constant contact with contaminated gloves, rinse cup splash, etc.. Whenever you touch a cartridge during a tattoo procedure and insert it into a pen-style machine, the cartridge piston penetrates deep inside to where the machine cannot be disinfected. Worse yet, manufacturers void their pen’s warranty if you get disinfectant into the piston hole!! This creates a perpetually contaminated machine, all the way into the motor. Ive tried speaking with numerous pen and cartridge manufacturers (including bishop) and everybody refuses to admit this obvious and dangerous problem.
Good for you. Most people don’t think this way. The only clean one machine is the Axys Valhalla only when used proplerly. Disposable grips and disposable clean caps. Which block the push rod from the carriage push bar. Pretty awesome technology but the only thing is they are always out of stock on grips. I don’t use pen style either for same reason
Isn’t that amazing? They will always say stuff like “oh use a membrane cartridge” or “just be careful not to touch the back of the cartridges” completely missing the point entirely. Then will just show b roll footage of them standing around a computer pointing at 3D models and discuss how innovative a direct drive plunger bar is. Then happily take your $800 plus and not look back, “for the tattoo community”. Tattooing is a dumpster fire.
I don’t know how you’re using your carts and how your station looks like when you’re inking, but dayum, just be careful, take time to adjust things and the inside of the cart will not be contaminated o.o

I have long since gotten rid of my Bishop for various other reasons, but still use pen machines. When I am finished with a session, I unbag and wipe the outer surfaces, followed by an inspection and cleaning of the cartridge chamber with a disinfectant-saturated cotten swab (warranty be damned, there is often ink residue in there from capillary action from the rinse cup.) Then, when all visible debris is removed, i run the machine through a cycle in an ozone sterilizer. These are safe for electronics and are used in a larger scale to sterilize full medical operating rooms. I’ve been doing this for years now, and feel this regimen is the optimum method to ensure client safety.

Currently using a hawk pen for a lot of black and grey and lettering which wand would be more similar I jus wish the pen had just a little more power
