  • After finishing some huge boat projects, I decided to go for a bikepacking adventure, but this time I left Logan and Max at home and replaced them with three lady friends.

got my new bike, tent, sleeping bag, twig stove, panniers, etc. and at 62 i will soon embark on my first bikecamping trip here in thailand, that is when the rainy season starts to peter out which is maybe in 2 weeks.
interesting that of all the main types channels on YT i follow, the top 4 are sailing, bikepacking, canning and cooking. yours now has combined all 4 at some point so well done!

damn let us know how it goes! where are you planning to ride to?! I've thought a lot about biking in Thailand but I'm not sure I would be brave enough with the amount of traffic there! Haha and I'm glad you enjoy your range of topics. TH-cam algorithms don't seem to agree, but we are all about showing our reality so here they all are :)

@@WaywardLifeSailing just locally here in n.e. thailand (i live here). maybe work my way up to 4 day/240 km +/- trips and see how it goes, then maybe longer? nothing very remote...there's always a mom and pop shop or a roadside restaurant nearby.
yeah, the main highways are crazy but there's a LOT of paved/concrete roads out in the country with decent shoulders and not much traffic and even the gravel roads are surprisingly good much of the time.
hope you're back in the water soon!
btw...if you've got time to kill, a good watch on YT is a video called "from cape to cairo"...about a young guy who cycles all the way from s. africa all the way to egypt. very inspiring.

Love biking. Though I never went camping on a bike, I know I would love it, especially in such a beautiful place. Well done you all ❤

Backroads are always better for any type of two wheel adventure, pedal or motor powered. Looks like a good time.

I agree. We even tried to find some on this trip but there isn’t much on SSI for off-road

I'm older and out of shape so I motorcycle camp with a hammock and enjoy my time out like that.
