I too was thinking about this. Generally, these videos only highlight the photogenic parts and don't cover the battle of the mind that happens with the combination of solitude and challenge. Life is a long battle; the more we subject ourselves to discomfort, the more we grow and learn to become adaptive. It is a story of one hundred thousand generations. This video got me thinking about doing such a journey next year as a bookmark in my life. Well done.
I was a long distance cyclist. Your sharing of your struggle and journey, is dearly wonderful, Thank you. Freeing a caged mind, is the gift of a bicycle, the best human invention!❤❤
I am 62 years old. I cycle and have done all my life. I found your honest story humbling and inspiring. This is the good side of social media. Stay brave.
TH-cam just started putting videos like this in my feed - I love how gravel bikes allow us to climb mountains and explore our world immersively, but still allow us to cover great distances. I am amazed at all the gorgeous backroads you were able to take to get to your destination. The amount of vertical you had to climb is astounding! You did your own Tour de France! Thanks for showing us a very personal view of Europe we've never seen before.
This is simply the best cycling video I’ve seen. You capture the physical, psychological and emotional parts of the human-powered travel experience, and the beauty and challenges of the natural world you move so gracefully through. It’s poetic!
Wow, loved the story telling. As a bike packer I take lots of photos but don't put into words what I'm feeling on my trips. Your story made me feel like I was on my own trip. Beautiful.
Spot on! The mind gives up before the body. All it takes is changing your thought patterns. I´ve been a cycling for more than 25 years. I´ve done all the major climbs in Pyrenees, Alps and Dolomites. It takes a lot of courage to confront such a big challenge and to face such a demanding sport with no previous experience. BRAVO!! Oso Ondo!!
Excellent thanks for your adventure. You have lots of guts. I am amazed. This is a quote I use to caption special bikepacking pictures “Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.” -Hermann Hesse/“Steppenwolf” Take care
Ive only seen 7 minutes of your video so far, but I can't catch a breath. Last summer i cycled from poland to spain and now when I see same places in your video I kind of exist in this journey again. I havent fell this kind of emotions for a long time. Thank you so much, take care!
A truly inspirational Bike Packing video. Thank you for all of the time and effort this video must have taken. I have sent it to my nieces and nephew to expose them to more of the world, which this does beautifully, and perhaps they will also dream of and experience the world on a bicycle.
BRILLIANT!! Not just for the physical effort required to cover the route, not just for the careful route planning, but for overcoming all the mental challenges - loved your philosophical musings, and will try to keep you in my mind when I traverse the Pyrenees this summer (starting in Bayonne, then to Lourdes, to Foix, to Puymorens to Perpignan). I will think of you, and will take comfort from your story telling and your excellent photos/ video production!!
Your approach of focusing as much or more on the inner journey is wonderful. Thank you for your honesty in sharing your complete experience. Also I enjoyed the scrapbook style elements. So well done. You are impressive.
Simply: WOW! You are a brave young Lady and I feel honored that you visited my home, the most beautiful Berchtesgadener Land, during your journey. With best regards from a fellow cyclist and mountain climber.
Strong mind, strong core, thank you for sharing your journey with us. It sparked memories of my 3 years living in Europe where Plzen was my base, and I would go of solo cycling touring 8 weeks at a time. That was 25 years ago, and as I look down at my 60 ( next week) year old legs, I am grateful they where able to turn those cranks for 10 000 km around Europe with all the ups and down, good and not good memories, because you never know what the future holds for you. I returned home to Australia in 2000, 6 years later I got married , and just as my son was about to be born I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. 16 years later, with chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant, I’m still here. I didn’t think I would make it to 50 let alone 60. So treasure those memories, there the only thing you can take with you 🙏❤✌🏼😊
Thank you for a refreshingly different 'sharing' of your journey - no boasts about 'solo female travel', no daily mileage and climb 'stats' summaries, no pushing on and on to keep within a self imposed timeframe. Instead you articulated a beautiful and vulnerable story of the complexities of this life, and how being in motion, on a bike, has healed you. I wish more adventure travelers would follow in your tracks, drop the ego and focus on the journey and what it brings to the mind.
...I came here for a "bikepacking-story" but you told it so personal with so much impressions that I have to say thank you for sharing your journey which really made my sunday. I had same deep experience on a long bike trip too and it also worked as a therapy for me...being with myself and sharing time with me. Have a good life and be lucky!!
Přesně takto si představuji ideální journey of live. Čeká nás podobná cesta letos, jen opačným směrem z Brna do Barcelony.
Thank You Denisa!!!! First of all, it isn't a documentary, it's a beautiful trip, a journey of self discovery, of challenges, of seeing what one can do when we put our mind to it. I loved it. It made me see what I am missing out on, you are definitely an inspiration. Wow!!! Those views, images are really awesome. Thank You very much!!!! Greetings from Mexico!!!! ps. Keep it up and congratulations.
The bicycle is one if the most important inventions in our history, and it pays back in dividends everything that you put into it. Such a lovely video....you are so lucky to have a film of such a trip to keep your whole life.
Such a beautiful, intimate, and inspiring film. I felt as though I was traveling with you all along. Makes me want to get a bike now.. Thank you for sharing your journey!
What a beautiful journey! Your story brings back memories of a solo bike ride I took from Montana to Alaska. It was life changing, one of the most challenging and most precious times in my life. I relate to so many of the feelings you expressed here. I'm moved by your adventurous spirit. Thank you. A lot of people avoid challenges. But if it's too easy is it much of an accomplishment? It's the hardships in life that make us grow. Conquering something we've never done before leaves us with the most meaningful memories. So many people devote their entire lives to pursuing wealth, comfort and possessions and never take the time to actually live. Keep living life and telling your stories. The world needs the inspiration.
My respect and my admiration for you, Denisa! Wow! You not just made it the whole way through, you also do umented it, edited it and uploaded it on your iwn, I must assume! Yes, I bet there are many other potentials in you yet to be explore!!! Vless you for sharing and for inspiringnthe world with this adventure of your!!!
Good video , and a good bike packing trip ! You are right about challenging yourself, sometimes it is just too easy to go with the flow of life and not take some risks . And, what maybe even more important than the challenge of just doing ...... Is the thought process of accepting a challenge and not being afraid of failing the challenge ! If you are not willing to take risks , you may not get all the satisfaction and things out of life possible. Time is relentless, and if you do not make good use of it, when you get old , you look back on the paths you have chosen through out your life and think back on all the opportunities you had to maybe take a better path. Or if you did tske risks, maybe you will wish you had of taken more . When you get old , regret is a thing that never goes away. All the best to you , stay safe.
really beautiful storytelling .... I'm happy for what you have seen and live in your long ride with your self. really jealous !!!! wish you the best because you deserve it !!!!!
"Challenging myself and always seeking a new experience of the same, rather than seeking something new to feed my restless brain with, is to me one of the most beautiful ways of keeping my fire burning, the charm never fading, my life alive." I love your expressiveness and storytelling. I thought I was gonna watch just another bikepacking video for inspiration for this summer but I'm so moved. You’ve put together something incredibly beautiful, this easily beats the best drone footage I've seen. Thank you ❤ Wish you many more amazing trips!
I neutuchající tichá polemika o cíli a cestě. Dojalo mne to, nejen mými vzpomínkami.
Thank you for sharing your magnificent and courageous journey. But above all, your thoughts, insights and perspectives were inspirational. Beautifully written and filmed. Truly the biggest obstacles was not the mountains and paths in front of you, but one you have to climb over in your mind every minute of the journey. Congratulations and Bravo.💯💯💯👏👏👏👌👌👌🚴♀🚴♀🚴♀
Wow, that was really touching! The feeling, imagery and scenes you sketch with the videography and your storytelling are amazing and emotional. I'm glad I watched your awesome journey 👍🏼, quite a documentary!
This video is not quite the usual bikepacking video. You created something very personal and beautiful. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Thank you!
