I’m about to switch my rear tire to solid today. Can you give me the pros and cons? What’s your top speed now and what was it before? Is it worth not getting flats? I just read a lot of bad stuff about these online but considering how big of a pain it is to switch out these tires every time there is a flat I figured I’d just switch to solid
To be honest the biggest pro is that you won’t get a flat and have to deal with the cumbersome process of changing it. I think I’ve lost about 3mph to top speed; and handling is worse too. Overall I am happy but you can tell the scooter drags more with the wheels
Appreciate the honest review! Exactly the same experience lol I now lost about 3-4mph and that’s on smooth flat ground im sure it’ll loose more riding through bumps and hills. I do notice the battery dying a little faster too. But over all still worth it for no flats :)
i personally went w/ the inmotion climber which is 90% similar to this BECAUSE of its pneumatic tires because i kept hearing/reading that solid tires have one great positive but way too many dangerous negatives and i rather put up with the consequences of pneumatic tires than the consequences of solid tires.
@shankoem the thing I had difficulty with was putting the rear wheel back on. But I figured out that all you need to do is loosen the caliper in order for the wheel to seat properly. What took the longest time was boiling the tires. Also, the steam rising up kind of smells bad after the tires are in there a while. I bought a different brand that had no holes in the sides but they were still very easy to align. Just by sliding the tire tool straight into the rim and prying slightly they sit correctly in the bead. Thanks again for the video!
Ooof the wheel damage. Got it done though 😅. For the future, removing or installing the tube tires shouldn’t take much effort. Looking at the tire top down as a circle, You want to move one half of the tire bead (where the tire meets the wheel) into the concave portion of the wheel (part of the wheel where the radius is smaller) This will allow you to shift the tire over and release the tension on the other side. You should now be able to use the tool with minimal effort to lift the bead over the wheel (instead of prying it over)Then just use your hands. No need for the metal tool either. 8:22
hey im looking to replace the tires on my H1 Renegade, the original tire says its a 255x70(mm I assume), while my replacement says its 10x2.125 inches. doing some quick math I found the other tires are actually 10x2.75 inches is that 0.5ish inches on the width going to kill me or am I good to install? Thank you for the help.
@ but of an update on that, turns out the hover 1 renegade has a v shaped wheel well so the smaller tire tried to slink one side in so I had to get the wider tire for it to fit. TLDR the smaller tire did not “fit”
I did it, worked well but gotta say the scooter lost 30% of its autonomy with the solid tyre, that´s a big con for solid tyres in my case, considering returning to regular ones
It is easier to get the tire on the wheel by lying the wheel on a piece of carpet or something and then taking both hands and kind of doing a push up down on the tire with the wheel on the ground. That is with soap and a heated tire it goes on easily.
Kept watching even after you gnarled the side tire reflector only to find it it wasnt for solid rubber tires and you just speed ran through the actual tire removing process .🫤

Extremely helpful video. Although I don't think you have much mechanical experience before this... good that you are trying.
Thanks!

Yeah I was pretty annoyed about the wheel damage! In that moment I just wanted the tire on haha. Thank you for the tips!

You should be fine! Did you install

Thanks that help a lot I’m doing this for sure.
Glad I could help!
How did you do the front wheel ?
Same as the rear wheel; just being careful not to mess the wire up
Im still trying to find a video on how to change the brake pads on my hover-1 pro boss r500

Might not be the exact same process but with a little bit of determination you can do it!
Bro is that a hover 1 renegade
No it’s not it’s similar! Process should be the same
@@shankoemit’s the pioneer right ?
@@JCEMEGAyes!
@@shankoem I have the same, you’ve taught me a lot here thanks 🙏🏾
Cómo remplazar la llanta sólida delantera del motor
Dude... do you realize the amount of damage you did to that poor scooter?
Yeahhh it’s all cosmetic but; looking back at it should have used tape on the wheels and watched some videos on the reflector
Stepping on a brake disc😬
Haha it started off as a leisurely install and turned into a war
It's not that harmful
I did it, worked well but gotta say the scooter lost 30% of its autonomy with the solid tyre, that´s a big con for solid tyres in my case, considering returning to regular ones
I have to agree! I can feel more drag and it being slower/heavier

Good to know! I struggled a lot
Your 'trim removal tool' is actually a tire lever (pry bar)😅😂😅
🫣🫣🫣
I just cut the tire off since they are trash, it saved me from scratching the rim.. bro your wheel got jacked up😭😭
Haha I know bro; install was a pain and just wanted it over
Dude, why don't you use an old inner tube inside where you're prying on the wheel. Get it together? lol
Haha I didn’t think about that at all that’s a great tip.
That rx7 though
Cursing is helpful
Omg
Two words: Split rim
LMFAO
Snapped mone off too, same side, same wheel and everything hahahaha
Damn man haha you can buy the cover on Amazon tho

Sorry man, was learning as I went then got too into the zone!
Wait wym it wasn’t for solid rubber tired I thought that’s what he installed ?
