Speed Limiter Removal: Hover-1 Pioneer Electric Scooter

- Thanks to Shawn for showing how to do this. This is actually super easy. No need to do anything to the firmware like the Xiaomi M365. It's literally a plug that you unclip. Make sure you look for the white wire.
NOTE: It doesn't increase your speed but rather it removes the limiter to slow you down when you're going downhill or on a roll and the speed is exceeding Pioneer's controller. It removes the thermal throttle controller.
NOTE: Remember to do a before and after max speed test using a phone app (Not the build in display) to get an understanding of where your speed is it.
UPDATE: Please do this at your own risk. I'm getting a lot of people confused or hating or something. I'm not responsible for anything that happens if you do this.

The white wire it's the temperature sensor, not a speed limiter. It does help to prevent the scooter to shut off by it's own when using sport mode and going over a bump. I have 11of these scoorters for rentals.
Hey man. As someone who owns 11 of these, I was hoping you could give me some advice. I got an extended warranty when I bought it and that turned out to be a good idea. I’m getting a cash payout and keeping the dead scooter but I want to see if I can bring it back to life if I can. Idk if it’s moisture or what but I imagine it is. What do you do when a customer brings a scooter back dead and what do you find the issue usually is? It may be a busted battery but I just don’t want to spend money on a new pack if thats not the issue and replacing it does nothing.
can you expand a little bit on whats going on when it shuts off over a bump? It seems there are 2 conditions where it will shut off. 1) when I'm on flat terrain but its summer and i've been riding a while and the wheel is super hot and this makes sense 2) if i go over a bump, especially crossing railroads. it seems as if something shorted or maybe the harness jiggled or such. I'd love any experiences you can share
@@Jackbarrany I took my dead batteries that were brand new than been sitting on the shelf for years when I put a multimeter on them they showed one volt in the whole battery. I took the wrapping off of the battery on top of my battery there is a long circuit board on each end of that circuit board there is a b+ and a b minus. All you do is take a small 20 volt battery with a 2ah and hook it up to the good battery on the b+ hook it up to the b+ on the bad battery and the b minus on the bad battery and hold it there for a couple minutes and then check the voltage with a meter tester. It should start taking a charge do that for about 20 minutes until you get the battery up to about 20 volts and then put your charger on it. It works.
If removing the speed limiter doesn't work, swap out the stock lithium battery with a more powerful lithium battery. I'm guessing go with either a 60 volt or 72 volt battery.
Also. You may need to replace the stock controller with a different controller rated up to 500 watts or 1000 watts. This will rest assuredly, definitely increase the speed because the motor is now operating off whatever controller is being used. This is the prime key to increasing speed.
Key fact: Controllers control the operation of the motor and increasing the voltage will increase power.
Be very mindful not to use too much wattage and voltage because you will burn out the motor.
Interesting, maybe you can help me out, i have a 2000w 48v, 20Ah lithium, scooter, limited to 45 km/h(EU norm) , first what max speed could i reach when unlocked, i didnt find out where the limiter could be, maybe in the controler itself?and or do i need to replace the motor and control unit? or iss 2000w to less to go over 45 km/h? but i dont think so, i saw videos from scooters with 2000w who reach 65 km/h..
@@Biostatic the limiter varies. In some cases, its a thin white wire. In other cases, the speed limit is programmed into the software. Who knows. But I know what you mean. My advice is to try and move up to 3000 Watts and 72 volts...............or even 5000 Watts..
3000 Watts and 72 volts is pretty powerful. That's what I have on my own e-bike. I just blow by other e-bikers and even the larger scooters that need license plates.
But I see ehat your saying. You probably want to modify the system you have already to cut costs.
Try running the 2000 Watts off 60 volts
@@milestone_achiever4634 thx for your advice🤘, i think its its programmed into the software, and there is no way(atleast for me) to re-programm it, go for 5000 watts would be cool, but there's to less space for replacement, but maybe 3000 watts could be an option, since i can legit drive on the streets with my 2000 watts 48v, i thought it would be easy to go for more speed, but im thinkin youre right, changing battery plus controller would make more sense...
I think all you did was disable the recharge circuit from coasting. That's really silly because like you said you get no extra speed. Instead you only hurt your battery time. I have two of these scooters and absolutely love them. As stock downhill already exceeds 15 mph although the speedo won't tell you so. The wind definitely will.

With my experience on my hover 1 alpha, I can get passed the top speed by turning off and on the scooter while it’s moving. I have no idea why this effects the speed though it leads me to believe that it has something to do with the software.
U found out how to sort it properly yet I have a alpha and it only goes 12mph in sport mode

The white plug does not effect the speed any. Don't waste your time. The only way to truely increase speed and tork is more wattage, and ampage.
Is it working with iSooter i9 Pro? Or any advice for this Speed unlimit? Over 30km/h I need
still feels and sounds like the same speed as it was when the “speed limiter” was connected so not sure if this works
might be a voltage or software based limiter if that happens, you'll probably need to try another method if you're still trying

Update it does not have any effect on your battery I get to and from from work everyday at 23 miles per hour I've been doing it for the last 4 weeks there isn't any notable change in my battery power

My Mega Motion electric scooter doesn't turn on anymore, I've had it for 1 year. IM very desperate!! Maybe you can translate my German into English with the Google app, for example. In your video in the minute 3:30 pm I also have these cables and these yellow colored plugs and this silver part with all the plugs and cables at Minute 4:40 pm that you screwed on and where the cables are all inside. Red, yellow etc. And then with 4 screws the blue long battery pack with 4 screws. Question: Which cable is responsible for switching on the electric scooter or which could be broken. The charger charges normally red and when it is full, then green. So the battery is full and was still full before. I beg your help so much. Usually when I put the round plug of the charger into the scooter at the bottom left, I always heard a "clack"! And now when I plug the charger into the scooter the round cable at the bottom left, I don't hear it! not "clack" or "click".

Check the manual on that. Plug the clip back and see if that's fixed.

These scooters were made only to run at a certain temperature
It’ll do 20 mph out of the box as measured by gps, but the Speedo on the scooter says 15 mph. What the white wire does idk., I’ve tried it both connected and disconnected, no difference. Whoever told you the white wire keeps it from going 20 is full of it; my guess is it may have something to do with over heat protection.
Sorry guys but this “hack” has no effect on speed.
I have done back to back testing on the road as well as controlled bench testing using an optical tachometer. The white wire does not effect speed at all.
The battery voltage level will effect speed - also proven with an optical tachometer.
With 42v the no-load speed of the system is 21.33 mph (with or without white wire connected). Once the battery drops to 41v the no load speed drops to a 20.5 mph.
This shows that the firmware is not limiting speed but rather the voltage is.
Also, speed is reported to the system by the phase wires - proven by the fact that the speedo still reports when the white wire is disconnected.
I disagree. There is an actual limiter on Hover 1 scooters. Going downhill on my Hover 1-x it throttles back when it reaches 20.5 MPH. Hence, watching this vid. Cheers

This doesn't really make it any faster... It lets the motor still run while you're going downhill, so you can go SLIGHTLY faster downhill. And it makes it to where your motor doesn't cut out when it "overheats". Which tbh, is super useful. But it doesn't make it go any faster.
They must do that on purpose with the completely stripped screw because the same thing happened with mine.

Hey bro when you remove the limiter it blows the motor out within a month or 2 after wards plzz be careful when doing this.. the wheel locks up when the motor blows out and hopefully your not going fast when this happens believe me I had 5 scooters already LOL

I got up to 23pmh, you have to download a GPS speed app to clock your speed. :-)

@@waleedabdulrab8779 honestly if everything is stock you can't really do much damage because there are still power cut out built into the battery and controller. Plus your battery will drain before you ever ride long enough to fry the electronics.

New or used? Was anything changed or don't to it which cause it not to start? If so plug or revert it back and check again.
hey sharma. its efrain again. my scooter is used. but in excellent condition. I still have the same problem. only when I plug in the charger, all everything lights up, yet no motion. it stays lit and after 2 or 3 minutes, the scooter automaticaly shuts down.

Sounds to be like an electrical or motor issue. I would return it if possible. If it's was like this when you got it then it's a dud. Get that money back!

Hey Mr. Sharma. Is there a possibility that the controller, which is under the stand where you control the start and power to make the scooter go. There are many unlabled connections cables, some are named AYT g6, e5 and most are brown and black. Does the power, not the one which goes into the controller but the other one. Help
Hi. I'm really not sure. I personally would return it if there is any electrical issues because now you will be spending time and money trying to diagnose it. Could be controller but I can't be sure. Only way to know is replace it and see.

IE does it have a limiter wire.. it's an AiQite brand..this thing can go up hills 40° grade.. it has motors in both wheels.. you can use one or both motors.. has a turbo and eco button...please if anyone knows about that brand..thank everyone be safe on those things..

U should put some type of Silicone to seal it good because I noticed the actual seal is ruined Once u take out the screws. And that’s very important since Water 💦 gravel dirt ect r flying through.

Just find the white wire you probably have a different type e - scooter
If you really wanted an extra speed, buy another motor hub + controller and boom speed will increased double your speed.

have a mistake on my skateboard that makes me 32 and does not let me use it
I own an e-bike and e-scooter and both I have removed the restrictor I have D8 Pro e Scooter with 10.4ah battery and I have fixed a seat to it my e-bike I put together my self and has 15ah battery and a 500w rear hub so e-bike can do up to 40mph now and my e-scooter goes up to 20mph but i normally only go around 20mph tops on my e-bike see I didn't really want to go silly speeds I just needed more torque now I get that extra push to get up hills so if you're just looking for a bit more torque then this can help with that also. This info can be very helpful, so Reginald Sharma has earned him self a new subscriber and a LIKE on his video!

BESIDES, REMOVING THE LIMITER ALL TOGETHER IS A BAD IDEA.. NOW, ADDING A SHUNT ON A MOMENTARY SWITCH WITH A START / STOP TIMER THAT WILL SWITCH BACK AFTER 5 OR 10 SECONDS WOULD BE BETTER... MAYBE INCLUDE A 3 HIT LOCKING CONTROL BOARD THAT'LL LET YA HIT IT LIKE A BOOSTER 3 TIMES AND THEN MAKE YA WAIT FOR A COOL DOWN PERIOD.. LMAO.. gray wire not white wire and if gray i'll just put in series of volume control so I can Adjust the speed limit not disconnected all the way as the motor will heat up and goes without limit .

The white wire does not limit the speed. I attempted this mod with no change in speed. Now I'm going to mod the controller add jumpers to bypass the on board resistors/fuse limiting the power output.

Dont take out the limiter,they were put there for a purpose,to maintain stability concerning speen and to not overheat the motor.The faster you go is the more voltage sent to the motor

That sticky thing is a gasket and it stops water from seeping in the battery compartment so like you said in the VIDEO,,,,,,,, BE SUPER CAREFUL 😳!!! 🤞. Try not to rip it, my electric scooter comes with a warning but if water gets into the battery compartment the Warranty is completely void. And there are water marker strips like you get on some phone batteries, so they will know.... try not to dribbling it.. Lol😢
