- DISCLAIMER: this was a Chinese carb used in the video and the float was inserted the wrong way then it would in a traditional carburetor. Put the float valve in the opposite way than what is depicted. The black needle side should be facing down and the other side contacting the float.

Mine is still leaking what should i try next
I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know of a way to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost the password. I love any help you can offer me
@Joel Levi instablaster =)
@Xzavier Dean I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Xzavier Dean it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
This guys made my day with his knowledge the part where he said the bouncy pump was the trick to fix my carburetor he is great and what i really really appreciate was such a short video because i hate to waste my time
worked for me ,I was only using my manual air pump. what happened was in the step when i opened my overflow screw nothing came out so I did next step and pump some air inside then some dirty gas came out like darkened gasoline but only a few then i pump some more air then more dirty gas came out and then redder clean one few seconds later, when it stopped spewing gas, tightened my overflow screw then turned it on with few tries like 25 kickstart, Good news was when it turned on no gas was leaking. This moment I will never forget in my life, more DIY wisdom. " thank you very much for sharing this informative video"
Hey bro 7 yrs later and the air compressor trick still helped me out thanks a lot bro 🙏
Thank you for this video, Let' Ride.
My issue was with a Yamaha EF2400iS generator which I take away yearly to boost the capacity of the four lithium batteries in the caravan.
Last year, I noticed diluted oil all over the ground sheet, but the generator still worked and I was able to continue using it.
But before my annual trip this year, I thought that I should investigate further, which lead me to your post.
Eventually, I gathered the necessary components to attach to the air pump and following your concise directions, I was able to blow the debris from the float bowl valve.
Unsurprisingly, the generator is now working much better than it did last year, thanks to your advice!
☺
Praises to you good sir. You just saved me from disassembling four, 40y/o carbourators, a job I was dreading.
Lmaoo i just disassembled my kz1100s 4 carbs
I have a Honda VFR with four carbs. When I needed them cleaned I happily paid a guy to mess with it. I took one look at the exploded part diagram and said “NOPE.”
You put float needle in upside down
Yeet
it was a chinese carb this model puts it in backwards
That can’t be. The rubber tip needs to seat. No where to seat upside down.
@AirlessGoose54 no, I have the exact same carb, he literally had it in backwards
@@Timmwardhow the fuck do you put it in right then?
I noticed the needle upside down too. LoL
Yes!!😂😂 n it wasn't old too
Yes I noticed it too. 👍👍🤪😂😂
thanks m8 I really didn't want to buy a new carby for my bike so I clicked on the first carby fix vid I found and it was yours and the first method fixed it cheers m8
So helpful! Gonna work on bike tom. Hope trail life will be starting back soon
Your "float valve" (needle) was upside down on your demonstration, and you did not place the "new float valve" correctly into the prongs of the float, which will cause failure of the needle to seat correctly to shut off fuel.
what do you think is causing this? streamable.com/smlbx4
carbs were cleaned few seasons ago, inspected carb it looks extremely clean
You didn't explain how to fix that issue.
I was about to say that like hold on 😂
you're a legend mate!! the air up the overflow pipe sorted out my carb, cheers
Same, I’m so happy I didn’t have to take apart anything
great video! no big preamble, straight to the point!
thanks for a nice video.and i was gonna ask you if my carburator ever gets dirty or clogged, can i just spray carburator cleaner to the hose and blow it with compressor?thanks again..
Thanks for sharing, the rubber o ring was damaged on my carb which might have contributed to the leak as well.
Thanks for the video ill try it on my generator, but whats wrong with leaking the remaining gas on the groung?
Leaking the remaining gas on the ground could cause the pavement to stain, so I like to empty the remaining gas into a container. Glad this video could help!
Thank you very much for making this video! I was about to go to the machanic but you safed me so much money. I’m doing it myself thanks to this video
I see that this vid is a few years old, but the float valve seat was upside down. The rubber pointy part points into the center of the carb. If you really did reassemble the carb that way, I can not imagine how that would have stopped the overflow issue.
I was going to say the same thing .
The gas line on my ltr only has the options of on, res, and prim what would I put it on or would I have to drain all the gas in the system completely
Is this issue common on new carbs? Picked up a used 4wheeler recently and it had a new carb installed on it. Fuel steady flows out the tube. I will try the air blast when I get a chance.
Thankyou so much! Im a girl and I dont know anythig about engines. Ive just bought a small ATV for my field and it started to dump petrol from that tube. Now I know where to look, how to turn it off, I didnt have an air compressor so I just blew up the tube, its only short. Im not sure I could take the carburetta apart but at least I have some idea of what is going on with that float.
It started and fuel isnt coming out at the moment but it usually happens when I ride it for a while.
Update, Ive just found my tyre inflator for my car so Im going to try that!
great video my question is i have a 06 Kawasaki kx450F i am leaking fuel from the overflow on the top of the carb overflow is this something different thanks
The compressed air work out great 👍 👌 👏 thx..
Just bought an ssr out the box and it was leaking think i should clean it even tho its new?
Does the end of the hose have a screw in it,mine is hooked to a metal piece with no scree in the end of it,and that's were it leaks gas if I try starting it with the throttle on.???
Ok this kinda helps but the carburetor on my 4 wheeler leeks out of the drain tube on the bottom of the bowl when I put gas in the tank and the float is not stuck it just leeks so et me know what the problem is
you need to check all the rubber seals on the carb, there's also a possibility that you have an o ring on the pilot jet, it's the little hole that has the fuel coming through it, unscrew it and check the O-ring, might have to replace it, needs to be air tight in that tunnel where the pilot jet sits.
The best video!!! Not just blow air thru it...badass work dude
Just put an airfilter kit on my predator 212 and i have gas leaking out of my filter.... did i not put the jet on tight enough or could it be the bottom bowl not on properly or my spark pluf
Wow bro I appreciate it a lot u saved me 250 dollars man the bike shop said it’s a broken over flow or sum like that but I bllew air in it and it works fine now thanks bro I love u
My ssr 125 pit bike leaks out of the over flow tube when I wheelie could tjat be the float valve???
Very helpful thanks so much bro you know your stuff I'm new at this
He don’t know nothing cause if he did he would notice the float needle is upside down and he took it out and put it back the same way clearly he don’t know his stuff. Follow @ Unruly Ryders I do it correctly 💯
So if my floats are stuck it will leek from the overflow tube only? My carb leeks I think from air fuel mixture screw any tips
There are rubber rings seals on the drain screw they tend to deteriorate over time and also they get lost. you can pick up new ones online or at your local motorcycle shop.
@@iam2much5 or get a new fuel mixture screw
Where can you buy float values?
The pointy part of the float needle should be pointing up (correct orientation of a carb) the pointy part is made of rubbery material so it can block and make a seal inside when the float do its thing.
Mine was facing downwards, do you think that was the reason my bike was overflowing?
Yes
he said that it was a traditional carb and he didnt relise
Where can you buy new overflow pipe mine fell off?
Thanks a bunch! blew about 60 psi up the drain tube and didn't work. Then blew 100 psi for a lot longer and that did the trick.
Yes bro thank u so much my carberrator was leaking I didn’t kno why and u legit helped me so much with this video u don’t even understand how much u helped me god bless u❤
Thank you . Resolved my problem and back on the trail ( this is very helpful till this day . 🤝🏽
How do I order the correct valve for a specific carburetor?
Hi. I am a newbie to the bike stuff. I am seeing fuel leak from carburettor. Still figuring out what causing it.
I just want to know is about that drain pipe. Is that left free or should we connect it somewhere cos while I was cleaning I saw it was hanging below, was a bit frightened. And after seeing your video the tube just hangs out. Is it okay... Please let me know.
Still need help?
It’s their to drain excess gas from the carb it supposed to be dangling their
was trying to fix my carb very similar to yours but the O-ring came loose.. it's like impossible to get it back into place
Anyone have any thoughts on why fuel would drip out of the carb overflow valve when everything seems perfect with the needle and float? i cleaned it all out, making sure the needle could freely move and that there are no cracks in the float. this is driving me bonkers.
Have the same issue atm, ordered a new needle and float.
@@Mister_Michael did replacing the needle & float fix the fuel supply flow?
I haven't got them , will let you know
@@Mister_Michael did it fix the problem?
@@proarmy70 yes it did, I also added a fuel shut off valve in between the fuel supply
I'm confused was that float falve upside down pretty sure it was
Yes def was
Watched your video and blew air up my overflow tube and it worked! THANKS!
Thanks man very informative but you dont go on and on. This vid saved me alot of headaches great job bro
Joe Ashton thanks man! Glad it helped! Feel free to subscribe.
I have a Apollo dbx18 dirt bike that has a carburetor where I can't get to the float. the cover is riveted on. so I guess get a new one?
Does this apply to push mowers too?
Thanks because of this simple video I fixed my son’s bike! 😊
You legit just helped me fix my bike cause my dumb ass couldn’t figure it out for weeks! It’s working now cuz of u! Thank u bro
So glad this video could help and get you back riding!
Great video man💪🏽💯 This is exactly what I needed To See ! Thanks
Thanks, compressed air option solved the problem and just as important saved time.
I’m gona help you out let’s ride USA. Gas coming out of the drain tube is caused from either 1 a stuck float, 2 the float needle has debris or dirt inbetween the tip of the needle and the carb (not allowing the float needle to seat therefore causing the gas to overflow), 3 the rubber o-ring is bad on the drain screw or 4 the drain screw is loose.
Or 5: the float has a hole in it and isnt floating.
Thanks a lot man! Had the same issue and your vid helped me fix it! 🙏🙏
Any links to buy that valve?
Just what I needed to hear! Thanks! I’ll get to checking it and catch you later.
Can you also do this on a 49 cc carb
Mine is still leaking after a good clean and replacement, what do I do
What makes the valve bad exactly? My float moves freely and I cleaned the valve and it looks fine but still leak
Could be crud from old gas. Try hosing it out w GumOut.
clean it again and also with compressed air, and also replace o ring
This vid helps but fast forward it a bit
th-cam.com/video/4iYiCa3Nmqg/w-d-xo.html
I’m leaking from the top of the carb at the top on the air intake side any idea?
you have flooded your engine
How can i find the float valve that fits my carburettor?
I have Dellorto PHBN 16 hs.
Wait isn’t hat flout valve in upside down?
great video man, helped out w my issue 🤘
My motor scooter won’t start and gas is pouring out of the carb. I’ve taken it apart myself floats seem fine I could be wrong. Not sure what to do?
Mario M try looking at th-cam.com/video/6BpKFtz_G24/w-d-xo.html
I put a new carb on my dirtbike, it's leaking gas out of the air filter connected to it, anyone know anything about this?
Nick Juggin same problem i dont know what to do
@@jdmboa4693 try getting a refund and getting a new one, the one I ordered wasn't workin like it should
Nick Juggin okey
Thank you man it really helps me. I appreciate your time.
Best explanation on TH-cam .. thank u
i am not an expert but i tried opening and cleaning a motorcycle carburetor and i noticed even the first time that the needle and the float should be connected, if you successfully removed the float out from it's bowl the needle should come with it.
My problem: i need new needle, but i live in Serbia, and there are no parts for my dirt bike (ttr90) in Serbia. I dont want to buy it on ebay because i hate waiting 3 months for package to arrive, and shipping price is huge, like 70$ shipping.
what if you put in a brand new carb and it still does this
Why was the float valve not hooked up to the float tang
cause if was upside down
Where do you get a flout could’ve from
In the Words of Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show. . . . .
" Before we begin, thank you. Thank you, all, thank you. Thank you. Thank you "
Helped me today on recent purchase, tap-tap wasn't enough. So strip out and wiggle did the job.
Bro! Thank you so much....I put the float on wrong....duh...good job great detail A+
What price of this bike in India ? From where buy this in India .
Dude, float needle hangs on the float body, doesnt sit inside carb channel and upside down too. Point goes toward inside, not facing the float.
Can I just tighten the overflow screw
This video fixed my bike, Thanks!
My 08 yamaha zuma is doing this I hope this fixes it ty
I have this problem on my mx80, my bike just wants to die and just sputters slowly till dead
Welp idk
But how do u take the Carburetter off
What kind of bike is that
This wasnt published on April then whats about the upside down needle :O
Very good video bro, well executed and informative
Thanks you helped me
Short n sweet. Great job son.
Mine is pouring right out the over flow and it won’t even turn on .. Kim 125 sx
i dont think all floats are spring loaded, as far as "bouncing back"
read the video discription
It looks like the needle is upside down???
where can I buy a float valve ?
Great Vid....quick to the point and not alot of jibberish...hella smooth!
This video was very helpful
This video helped me out a great deal. Thanks for the info bro.
thanks, bro very helpful.
So glad u helped me with this bro easy fix
Wtf he literally has the needle in backwards
I tried this compressed air technique on my 2000 honda xr100r and it works well. Lol
Sweet fix very helpful not like other videos where they talk nothing but jibberish cool video
Crisp and Clear. Thank you.
EVERYONE THIS IS IMPORTANT DO NOT SHOOT COMPRESSED AIR THROUGH YOUR OVERFLOW TUBE CARBS ARE SENSITIVE TO AIR FLOW..... This guy is a joke he put the needle in wrong and telling people how to fix their bike when he's basically setting you up to buy a new carb bc its going to break more from the airflow.
Oh crap!!! I shot air through mine and now it leaks like crazy !!! What should I do??!!
SuperMattcom buy a new carb, now its shot. Never spray compressed air up the overflow. All thats going to do is spray all the crap and mud in the tube right into the carb and its going to get EVERYWHERE
I have a slight leak in my float system I'm pretty sure but I'm scared to check it bc I don't wanna mess it up more
Matt Eggleston carbs are very easy to work on. If ur afraid to work on it take a bunch of pictures of it while you taking it apart so you can refer to it when putting it back together. If your leaking gas your float is either stuck open or not set right. Id take the carb off, and the float and clean everything real well and put everything back together. If that doesn’t work watch a vid on setting the float height, its very easy. 👍
@@kill-switch2248 thanks man I deffinalty will do that
Thank you my husband carburetor is leaking and this vidoe came in clutch very detailed without being unnecessarily long.
