Many thanks blake ive had issues with my carb leaking out fuel on my homelite jet washer for a couple of years, 1st time i stripped it i used gasket sealant and unknowingly obviously blocked the air bleed which you pointed out in your video, free'd it up and bingo its running fab now.. many thanks 👍

Thank you so much for including the air vent issue. I am about to try and figure out why the new carb I got for my neighbors mower is leaking gasoline and I would have been stumped if it doesn't end up being the needle seated improperly. Excellent info.

If you’re not a mechanic type person then get a aftermarket one and change oil and filter

Thanks for the suggestion of checking the vent hole on the carb. I have been frustrated with leaking fuel on a 2 stroke ATV. I can't tell you how many times I have removed the carb, checked the bowl, adjusted the movement of the bowl by bending the tabs, changed the needle and seat and just been resigned to shutting off the fuel at the tank when not running. I have gotten to the point where I purchased a new, China carb and will eventually do a swap, but the puzzle of the fuel leaking still challengers me to find a solution. Maybe the vent hole was the problem all along. Thanks.

Im dealing with a carb that was overflowing no matter what. I tested everything and found the float has gas in one of the sides. New one on order. Im hoping it solves the problem. Runs great otherwise. Plug shows rich condition.

I swapped out my old carb on my briggs for a new one and the new one leaked after a shut off motor...i took appart and noticed it used this new style of needle vs old style which had a solid metal needle which seat on a tiny oring seal rather than this type which seats on brass since needle has rubber tip...any way i ended up using old carb...i may try new carb again next week wheni cut my grass, but not sure why it leaked will check it out more thoroughly before i try it again...thanks

I've had brand new aftermarket carbs leak and I'm wondering why.
It will leak intermittently so I think the float is actually sometimes getting hung up on the metal casting. The metal casting that houses the main jet....that's all I can think of because needle is brand new and there should be no varnish whatsoever in the area where the seat is hanging up the needle intermittently...
Have you ever had issues with aftermarket brand new carbs leaking?

Got s new 670 predator and it floods gas into the box and want run. Pulled the carb off, clean it with carb cleaner, ran for a few seconds died. Tried cranking it agin it just keeps pouring fuel in the air box again.. it shouldn't being doing this on a new engine.. i will definitely check the seat.. crazy, the float level is gooe. Thats why i dont like Chinese engines.

    • @jeffnations6649

@@macknumber9 yes and yes. It was a small piece of rubber on the vent tube that didn't get cut off from the factory.
