Incredible video! my powers been out for eight hours and counting. I had an old generator that was given to me and you help me get that thing fired up. Thank you so much!!!!
thank you so much you helped massively explaining why i was getting flooding issues! the vent was blocked was giving me a huge headache trying to work out the problem.... subbed
@@blakefindlay1870 i watched a few videos before yours none talked about the breather hole an i was about to buy a new carb so yes you helped massively👍
Thank God thank you brother holy crap I was 40min away from taking a hit out on my generator. Couple hard pipe hitting ....to go to work on the homs with a pair of pliers and a blow torch....!
Many thanks blake ive had issues with my carb leaking out fuel on my homelite jet washer for a couple of years, 1st time i stripped it i used gasket sealant and unknowingly obviously blocked the air bleed which you pointed out in your video, free'd it up and bingo its running fab now.. many thanks 👍
Thank you so much for including the air vent issue. I am about to try and figure out why the new carb I got for my neighbors mower is leaking gasoline and I would have been stumped if it doesn't end up being the needle seated improperly. Excellent info.
Thanks for the suggestion of checking the vent hole on the carb. I have been frustrated with leaking fuel on a 2 stroke ATV. I can't tell you how many times I have removed the carb, checked the bowl, adjusted the movement of the bowl by bending the tabs, changed the needle and seat and just been resigned to shutting off the fuel at the tank when not running. I have gotten to the point where I purchased a new, China carb and will eventually do a swap, but the puzzle of the fuel leaking still challengers me to find a solution. Maybe the vent hole was the problem all along. Thanks.
I swapped out my old carb on my briggs for a new one and the new one leaked after a shut off motor...i took appart and noticed it used this new style of needle vs old style which had a solid metal needle which seat on a tiny oring seal rather than this type which seats on brass since needle has rubber tip...any way i ended up using old carb...i may try new carb again next week wheni cut my grass, but not sure why it leaked will check it out more thoroughly before i try it again...thanks
Im dealing with a carb that was overflowing no matter what. I tested everything and found the float has gas in one of the sides. New one on order. Im hoping it solves the problem. Runs great otherwise. Plug shows rich condition.
I have a Nikki carburetor but has shut off thing on th bottom of th cup can that be th same problem I'm having or is mine a different problem cause it has a different shut off
I've had brand new aftermarket carbs leak and I'm wondering why. It will leak intermittently so I think the float is actually sometimes getting hung up on the metal casting. The metal casting that houses the main jet....that's all I can think of because needle is brand new and there should be no varnish whatsoever in the area where the seat is hanging up the needle intermittently... Have you ever had issues with aftermarket brand new carbs leaking?
Got s new 670 predator and it floods gas into the box and want run. Pulled the carb off, clean it with carb cleaner, ran for a few seconds died. Tried cranking it agin it just keeps pouring fuel in the air box again.. it shouldn't being doing this on a new engine.. i will definitely check the seat.. crazy, the float level is gooe. Thats why i dont like Chinese engines.
Wow this is the best explanation to what’s going on with the vst needle and airlock issue for my Yamaha outboard . Thanks will be trying the test

@@michaelwatchorn5255 I’m happy to help! Hope your power gets sorted out quickly for you
Well explained and great way to test the needle valve. thanks for the video!
thanks Jay!
The only video that explained the vent which was my problem. Gasket blocking it. Thank you sir.
No worries, happy to help!

I'm getting ready to see why my carb leaks in a Coleman generator and will definitely be looking at the 3 items you mention. Thanks.

This was EXCELLENT help. Thanks so much!
If you’re not a mechanic type person then get a aftermarket one and change oil and filter
This is the way the Chinese ones are so cheap and do a really good job for a few years.

So many reasons to keep the engine clean and oil changed regularly
Absolutely! So many issues are preventable
Curious for a non small engine mechanic can you clean the needle jet?
Good stuff - simple easy to understand
Thanks for your video, i found that the float was full of gas, idk how it managed to get in but i was
😮
Good tips. Thanks 👍

A new carb will solve your issue for sure
Do you know the carburetors model or part number. I've got the same carburetor on my Tecumseh legend 3.8 1500 psi pressure washer. Thank you
well explained thanks man,
So your gas tank being too high could cause problems?
so if it isn’t the 2 things you talked about what else can it be
I have a Nikki carburetor but has shut off thing on th bottom of th cup can that be th same problem I'm having or is mine a different problem cause it has a different shut off
thank you so much,i couldn't figure it out i changed the gaskets and the studs but again leaked,i opened the carb i found the float was upside down 😂
Ty. I subscribe.
Will try these out.
Thank you for the video
Thanks Blake :)

Mine is doing the same. Brand new 😢
Problem fixed . It was a vent tube
@jeffnations6649 vent tube was clogged?
Was this a brand new engine with brand new carb doing this?
@@macknumber9 yes and yes. It was a small piece of rubber on the vent tube that didn't get cut off from the factory.
Great👍
and uhm and uhm uhm and uhm
Great explanation, but you say “ah”, “a” and “um” so often it’s extremely distracting and annoying.
Shut up
