I bought an oil vacuum pump which sucks the oil out of the dip stick about 13 years ago and it's the best thing I ever brought, no mess, plus an oil filter adapter for the Merc filter which has an half inch connection for a standard ratchet. makes this job so much cleaner and simple.
@@eddieMurphy11111 If you change oil the regular you don't get that and this makes that easy to do. If slug comes out then your engine is finished probably or the oil has been in there to long.

Never use a ratchet on tight nuts and bolts! The pawl can break and injury can result when it does.

Was the camera the wrong way at the start. Did you tighten the sump plug rather than loosen it?
