    Great video mate. Just wondering how heavy the Dmax is running? Between the canopy, fridge, outboard, roof racks, tinny, and everything else you're carrying (including the wife!), are you able to stay under the GVM ok? Or did you do a GVM upgrade? I'm looking at a similar set up. Cheers mate - keep them coming.

    Hey mate, being a new ute, don’t you worry about the salt water rusting out components of the car? Or is it something you just accept for using on the beach? Have you considered getting electronic rust protection?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s a bloody heavy boat and much heavier than I was led to believe as well. I’ll go in to that further in the weights video I’ve got coming out next week.

    Gday mate.
    In the early stages of planing a 79 series build…… tray/canopy/boat loader/motor slide and under tray water tank. Itd be nice to get it all done by 1 company.
    I’m guessing you’ve previously looked around at many companies so I value your advice. In regards to quality, strength and price how do Thunderfab stack up against the Norwelds, MIT, bullant etc?
    I’m not even looking at anything cheap/Chinese etc
    Cheers mate and love the vids 🤘🤙🤜

      Sounds like a wicked build. Mate when I was looking at my options ThunderFab were lighter, cheaper and more customisable than others. I’d go back to them before anyone else if I was doing it again.

    I was just wondering how much does the boat motor weigh cause I'm just a little fella and your not ( short ) ?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The motor weighs 45kg, I'm 6'2" and honestly its pretty awkward to lift and I wouldn't want it to be any heavier!
      Smaller hp or 2 stroke motors are substantially lighter if that's an option for you.

    So the little comment about the outboard loader bolting onto the front of your caravan when you get means you have ordered one yeah?

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah we haven't ordered anything at all. Just exploring options.
      We'll post a vid as soon as we decide on something and explain why we went that way.

    Appreciate the video was a while ago, do you store the outboard fuel tank in canopy? And if so any fume issues? Thanks Dean

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว

      I try to avoid storing it in the canopy, fume’s definitely work their way into everything. Can taste it in food stored in the drawer that’s on the other side of the canopy after a couple of days 😂
      I’ve got a 20l jerry can holder bolted to the back wall of the canopy, and I can strap the 11l fuel tank to the roof under the boat. So I’m able to carry around 30l, which is heaps.

    Hi Cam, what winch are you running on the rack? Cheers.

    • @WildTouring
      @WildTouring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Funny you ask actually! I bought an atv winch off eBay- which has filled full of water and failed. The ThunderFab lads suggested an UltraWinch, which has a 7yr warranty against water ingress, so I’ve ordered one to give it a go.

    • @travisledger6238
      @travisledger6238 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cam, you saved me doing the same. I was about to order a eBay cheapie and just ordered a ultra winch instead. Fingers crossed they hold up to the elements. Thanks for the feedback.
