if you mean in one(first walkthrough) gameplay then no, coz you need to climb the shrine of worship to get one of the coin. you need to finish multiple walkthrough to get enough stamina to climb the shrine of worship and the others, i dont remember much.
You sadly can't because you need to climb the shrine of worship and multiple of the coins require you to use the parachute. Also 3 coins are unreachable without engaging in a reminiscence mode or regular fight with colossus 15.

It is new to this version you must collect 79 enlightment coin scattered in not so easy places. It is a reference or homage to nomad Colossus a big contributer in the SOTC community who has found many of the games secrets and deleted content of the game including the 8 cut colossi having their possible names and location of them which they are: the devil, the pheonix, the worm, the spider, the monkey, the griffon, the reaper bird, and the bull. Bluepoint actually reached out to nomad to help with them I believe he said why 79 and why the locations of which he put them but I can't remember. But in the credits you can see in the special thanks it says thanks to nomad and his 79 steps to enlightment.
@@KFPSplayer beta and demo disc's. As well as hacking to see certain areas. Nick Englehart 1. hm, then how he got the beta disc since it was only accessible for trusted circles ? 2. When they did a remastered for PS4, then why they didn’t use the colosses that didn’t made into the original ps2 game? I mean this would just have been more as fair for the community as just adding the little cave with sword. It’s really not that much since you said some concept and programm were already made? It’s really mind boggling me...
Aside from all the extra items in the time trial mode, this was added in the remake as a reward for all those who kept trying to find secrets in the game. It's just an extra unlockable
@@PMZaphod The sword is actually more of a nod towards the youtuber Nomad because he was such a big influence in the SoTC community, the devs who remastered the game said so themselves.
To me this sword makes no sense to me. The queens sword is a lot better, one hit on each colossi and its dead on hard. So what does it matter if it takes a bit more health from one hit? It does the same job just different look
I think in the lore it makes sense as it's Dormins power You want power u need to give up something In return Like the quest in order to revive the girl u need to kill 16 colossi Plus this is a nod to a PlayStation forum theorizing about the last secret of this game and the devs put the sword in here for that reason Secret Seekers
@@markmiller330 after reading the comment again i realize you are right. My bad, and sorry liquid snake. And no, it is not in the original ps2 game. It was included in the remastered versión to honor the thousands of secret seekers that this game has.
Here's a basic walkthrough from where you're at: 1. Begin a new game plus on any difficulty that isn't easy mode. 2. If normal mode, press r2 at each of the statues in the spawn area. It will allow you to fight the colossus in time attack mode. If you beat the colossus within the goal time, you win the time attack round. Do this for each of the 16 statues and you will get some items. 3. If you began a game in hard mode, don't pray at the statues(it won't let you do time attack). Instead, play through all 16 colossi. After that, begin a new game+ and follow the directions of step 2. 4. You will notice that you now have a whole bunch more items. There are 2 that you will need(1 more than the other). The parachute and Queen's Sword. The parachute(Cloth of Desperation) is directly needed for multiple of these little coins that you have to find(in a later step). The Queen's Sword is a very damaging sword that will instakill a glyph with a good stab. Equip the Queen's Sword and go ham on the colossi until you've completed 3 and a half playthroughs at least. 5. You're now done preparing to get the Sword of Dormin. There are 79 relics that you need to get to acquire the sword. Look up a video guide on them. I recommend the one by PS5Trophies. It's very detailed. 6. Once you get all 79 of the relics or coins, go to the glyph panel on the outside of the spawn area that has a gold shimmer to it. Press r2 at it and it will open up. The Dormin Sword is now yours for the taking.
Ace Ragnarok I don’t want to spoil the end of the game for anyone , but it should be easy for people to gather on their own as to why that happens. Hell somewhere in the middle you’ll notice he clearly doesn’t look the same but the darkness that he draws in has to do with the seal!
He gets possessed little by little by every Colossus he kills. All fragments of dormin are each colossus you kill, and every Colossus you kill means a fragment of the player goes into him so until the last colossus is killed dormin gets resurrected all at the cost of bringing a girl back to life (which the player is not aware of and does not care to know because his only priority is resurrecting the girl)
Yes, but it's all about the ever changing challenge that each colossus has. Plus the game is nostalgic at this point being released 3 times in its lifespan so far.
16 colossi and a gigantic world filled with nothing more then visual storytelling, strangely well crafted areas nobody in their right mind would go to All on the PS2 Remake loses a lot of the atmosphere from the PS2 original sadly enough

You don't need the new game + for that.
I had full life just by eating the fruits in trees on the first game....
Christopher Bocquillion you need new game plus for all that stamina though ;)
@@webby1450 stamina yes of course. You need to do the game 3 or 4 times but he was talking about life :-)
Is there a possibility to get that sword first before killing the colossus??
if you mean in one(first walkthrough) gameplay then no, coz you need to climb the shrine of worship to get one of the coin. you need to finish multiple walkthrough to get enough stamina to climb the shrine of worship and the others, i dont remember much.
There's one you need the parachute to get to it, and you get that from time attack runs I think
The answer is no.
You sadly can't because you need to climb the shrine of worship and multiple of the coins require you to use the parachute. Also 3 coins are unreachable without engaging in a reminiscence mode or regular fight with colossus 15.
I start the new game+hard mode and im collecting now the coins in a while.problem is thet there is a coin located where there is the 15th boss and you need have parachute to take it up in bridge. I have parachute but for collect the coin i think i need arrive to the boss for fight him because i cant reach the high bridge without the boss...
@Villansmasher 2 thats make the thing frustrating...because who doesn't know about it have to restart again the bosses fight.
There are only 2 coins bosses that you can collect using a sort of "shortcut" in time attack mode.
The dirge boss coim (inside rock sand) and the 14th boss in the broken city.
For the others you have to use parachute which on time attack mode you cant
This game is amazing and i do believe it is a masterpiece but this does feel a bit underwhelming as “The Big Secret”
is it from the remaster? that I remember the ps2 did not have that right?
Its only in the remastered
Was this fumitos idea though?
Me who thought that I had finished de game....
Never played PS4 version but don’t remember this sword in old version
It's a new addition to this version
@@nickenglehart6469 i wonder how "nomad" got the deleted content in his hands? dev kit tool from a developer member laptop that was discharged or so?
@@KFPSplayer beta and demo disc's. As well as hacking to see certain areas. Also there have been a couple of development book detailing the process of the game which states the original idea for 48 colossi to which was cut in half, then cut to sixteen, but said that concept and program for some of them before the cut to 16 had already been made.
Nick Englehart
1. hm, then how he got the beta disc since it was only accessible for trusted circles ?
2. When they did a remastered for PS4, then why they didn’t use the colosses that didn’t made into the original ps2 game? I mean this would just have been more as fair for the community as just adding the little cave with sword. It’s really not that much since you said some concept and programm were already made?
It’s really mind boggling me...
This is new on the original version they wasn't any extra sword....the secret was a Bow arrow....
@@matcuscorpez6452 yeah nomad is in thr credits along with 79 steps
@@envynova4145 This is a good video on the topic. th-cam.com/video/jQNeYbBiCKw/w-d-xo.html
So we have to collect all 79 coins to get this sword ?
I wonder if they're going to make a like on the PS5 or part 2 but this time we play as the girl and they are New Colossus
This game is a prequel to ico so probably not
How did you get all the items???
Normal and hard.
I had to reset to hard cuz i wanted to get the glider thingy
Nunca vi essa parte do jogo isso é na versão que saiu pra ps3 e ps4?
ps4
Wow+ so strong sword !
to anyone curious. Jacob Geller made a great video.
the sword is his height lmao
he’s a small dude cut him some slack
so i guess this is new right?
To me this sword makes no sense to me. The queens sword is a lot better, one hit on each colossi and its dead on hard. So what does it matter if it takes a bit more health from one hit? It does the same job just different look
I think in the lore it makes sense as it's Dormins power
You want power u need to give up something In return
Like the quest in order to revive the girl u need to kill 16 colossi
Plus this is a nod to a PlayStation forum theorizing about the last secret of this game and the devs put the sword in here for that reason
Secret Seekers
You call that a sword now that's a sword
Dormi didnt say anything since this isnt in the original game. Besides, that language doesnt exist, so it could be just some doalogue repeted
Is this in original ps2? 😮😮😮😮
No, this is in PS4
What a stupid question mate
I think he was asking if the sword was in the original ps2 version, which it wasn't, so he didn't really ask a stupid question
@@markmiller330 after reading the comment again i realize you are right. My bad, and sorry liquid snake. And no, it is not in the original ps2 game. It was included in the remastered versión to honor the thousands of secret seekers that this game has.
So what the hell is this and where???
Is this like a dlc or mod or something? Because why does valus have that weak point on it's arm?
If you finish the game you can start a new game + where the colossi have more weak points to reach
@@gabrielebrodo3197 No it's just hard mode.
This is ps4game?
the yellow items only apper on remakes on ps3 and ps4 not ps2????????????????????????
Just ps4
love this game so mucho
How to get this? I just finished the game in normal difficulty. Can anyone help please?
Bindass Gaming find all 79 shining coins around the map. Have fun.
I would just look up a TH-cam tutorial, it'll probably be much easier :)
Here's a basic walkthrough from where you're at:
The Dormin Sword is now yours for the taking.
good luck.
Poor colossi ...:(
Wait so do I have to collect all the relics before trying to get the sword
TheSpiderPlayer yes
Radman Kurze dammit also I saw that I have to replay the game multiple times on each difficulty is that true
TheSpiderPlayer To be more specific you shalt need to find all 79 coins scattered across the game to get the blade.
I can hear some voices
Nintendo should make a zelda like this!
What the hell happened to him? Why did he collapse and why did the darkness go into him?
Ohhh. Have you never played Shadow of the Colossus. In truth no one knows why. It's just an excuse to bring you back to the center of the map
@@aceragnarok9451 I played I Vu never beat it cuz my PS3 broke, but I've never seen that happen before.
@@blacktalon1607 that's also why you see his appearance change each colossus you kill (if you pay attention)
If you guys want to see things like that, visit Nomad's channel :)
@2:13 my man
I don’t have it and it’s in ps4
So...Is this game one big sandbox with just you n the giant??? Nothing else?
Yes, but it's all about the ever changing challenge that each colossus has. Plus the game is nostalgic at this point being released 3 times in its lifespan so far.
not one but 16 colossus, and a lot hidden secrets, and a nice story with no words said.
16 colossi and a gigantic world filled with nothing more then visual storytelling, strangely well crafted areas nobody in their right mind would go to
All on the PS2
Remake loses a lot of the atmosphere from the PS2 original sadly enough
Holy shit. Zelda botw seems so similar to this..from the open world to the map 💀 wtf...so was this game the inspiration to botw??..
wait wHat hOW!?
This game like the legend of zelda botw
