Wallke Ebike Ride to Historic New Castle, Delaware - Then a Tire Blowout! Again! Crap!!! - #16

The first time that Lori and I attempted to ride to Historic New Castle, Delaware, we never made it because I got a flat tire. This is our 2nd attempt to ride there that resulted with the same experience! Did we make it to Historic New Castle this time?

Good to see you had the tools to take care of the problem! The guy at REI who helped me upgrade my tires & tubes after 3 flats in a month suggested running it at the higher allowed pressure. I ran at the lowest for maximum comfort, but he said highter pressures actually reduces the chance for a puncture. Who knew?

I think the culprit was riding on the cobblestone that caused my tire to come off the rim. I'm just surprised that it happened suddenly out of no where.

I have never seen that type tire do that. Bicycle tires yes, those no.

The tire popped free from the rim and the inner tube quickly expanded out until it popped. I'm wondering if the ride on the cobblestone road is the culprit, causing a break in the bead. It was extremely rough. So rough that Lori got off and walked her bike and that was probably the smart thing to do.

Thanks Bruce. I try to keep it clean but I'm far from perfect. It's the 4th time I've had tire problems and It's getting old! It never happens to Lori, only my bike, so I wonder if my weight is the issue?
