For those that install the OBS plugin and are highly confused as to the background colour setting missing - the developer has made the feed auto transparent so no need to set a colour - unfortunately this strips out those advanced use cases and mirroring as discussed in the video. Also not the filter is not in Audio/Video but in Effects.

Insanely helpful! So I tried the NVIDIA broadcast bg removal feature and for some reason it made my mouse laggy af. I tried it a bunch of different ways and it messed with my mouse every time. Running it this way works flawless!

I love Notion! I've been using it as a way to track my goals, keep track of all of my ideas for twitch, AND I even have a folder for youtube tutorials (a bunch of yours are in there) that I would like to implement into twitch - then I keep track of those numbers to see how successful the new things are. Its been a really useful tool for me so far. Also, thank you for this tutorial!! I now have a bunch of new ideas for my streams

I've actually been playing with those kinds of effects using Nvidia broadcast, but I've never been able to make it work convincingly so I'm surprised this works so well!
I think it would be really funny to do the effect you mentioned where you greenscreen yourself outside of the frame (9:12) but make the background bigger so it's not noticable most of the time, and then on rare occasion just reach out of the frame and make the viewers do a double take

One "trick" I've found worked well with RTX Broadcast...use it WITH a green screen. I've got a 70" diagonal green screen whose coverage isn't quite "there" for full 16:9 camera...huge gaps in the corners unless the thing is touching my back. However, I can turn it vertical, put it behind me, turn on RTX Broadcast (or this RTX filter) instead of Chroma Key, and get a VERY clean cutout around my head and body, and as long as your background clutter isn't ridiculous it'll cut the whole room around the greenscreen as well. That way you aren't trapped in the "envelope" of your green screen, for those of us with smaller ones. Also, since you aren't chroma keying, you can wear green or things with green highlights, no issue. I also have a button that switches from Chroma Key (low resource usage) and a vertical camera box while in-game to RTX Broadcast (high resource usage) and a "full" widescreen camera for Just Chatting. You'll get some glitching around your arms if you spread them wide, but it's not horrible, and your face will be solid. Then you can just put whatever room you want behind you.
This is great - but if on a single streaming PC setup: OUCH. This will still use up some of the GPU and if you're gaming and streaming off the same GPU and adding this. DOH!
this worked amazingly, except for when i close OBS, it doesn't seem to save the stream fx . i have to install stream fx everytime i open OBS (multiple times/day). any suggestions on how to fix this? nvidia route
Very cool. There is a slight shimmer/white outline around certain parts of my head when using the filter that isn't there when using Nvidia Broadcast but its slight. I also notice it does things a little differently with the arms of my chair. Having it be a filter opens up so many more possibilities though.
i have a HP Omen 15 EN0375 with RTX 2060 and this is not working on my OBS 27.0.1 I am testing it with the HP Webcam...installed it like you said but the effect wont do anything... If i use it via Nvidia Broadcast it is working...but not as a standalone with OBS and the SDK Video Effect.... Any ideas?
Hey there Nutty, thanks for the informative video. I have been using this but was curious about the fact that ever time i open obs Studio i have to manually go back in ever time and reset the Greenscreen as it doesnt automatically start when i load. any suggestions for that? Also a side note, the webesite does specify that there is a 2 second deal for that gets caused so that can be counterd in the advanced settings from and selecting -2ms for the video capture source, and if on 60fps adjusting to -4ms to counter that delay.
I got all excited, installed it, and every setting of the non-RTX background removal makes me drop massive frames, render time per frame is 50ms or more, while task manager shows nothing above 50% usage. Ryzen 7 1700 + GTX 980 :(
tbh. Even w rtx cards. U really gotta watch these types of programs cuz they will ruin ur frametimes and fps and stuff sometimes. It doesn’t matter when ur just gaming. But if ur streaming gaming on 1 pc it absolutely can hurt performance. But in my opinion nvidia broadcast is the best one I’ve used other than the 10 fps it costs to use sometimes.

wow the non rtx addon looks pretty good for not having rtx or green screen ! but cpu usage skyrocketed from 3 to 50 so will kinda have to pass on that , thanks for the video !
5:36 - 7:14 I followed the "Non-RTX Method" and once I completed the instructions for that section of the video I noticed a problem. The green filter sits on top (covers my webcam). How could I fix that? This issue persists with my camera and video capture card filters.

I originally downloaded StreamFX (for OBS® Studio) 0.11.1a1 and the plug-in did not show up. I uninstalled that and installed the stable version StreamFX 0.11.0 and it is working perfectly! Can't get the background removal plugin for nonRTX cards to use the GPU. I switched it from CPU to GPU DirectML and I am still getting like 30-50% CPU usage just sitting in OBS not recording or streaming. This is with a 6800XT and a 5900X!??? What am I doing wrong here? I'm using a Logi Streamcam at 1080p60fps even switching to 30fps doesn't help much.
