Thanks, Kevin! You are a master at explaining things very clearly, provide all the information needed to get started, and have a very clear way of presenting all of that. This tutorial is no exception and I found it very helpful.
I discovered your TH-cam when I was searching for a technique to record a video without using a physical green screen. Wow, I hit the mother load. Excellent videos on a wide variety of tech subjects. Keep up the good work!
This video made the process so easy. I only watched the video once and successfully removed green screen from a video in like 2 minutes. Thanks for this amazing tutorial.
THANK YOU. This was the BEST video explaining this process. Cut right to the directions, showing what to do and where to go on the screen. I look forward to trying this out. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! After watching five others, your video was great. You should assume we know little about the software and devices...You spoke clearly, accurately, your demos on monitor were large enough to see, slow enough to follow (but not tedious) and you are a good looking guy with a lot of personality. Shoot big...you'll go far.
thank you so much! your videos has helped me become a better TH-camr your tips are amazing and straight to the point. you deserve so much more recognition!!!!!!
Glad I found your channel! Everything you display is so done in a way even someone as new to content creation as i am can fully understand it. Thank you for keeping it simple. I will make sure to check your vids when I need more info before looking elsewhere!
best vid on youtube by far with this. the others never went into using images and started talking json files without explaining how to convert images to json. thanks for explaining in depth. cheers!
Quick and easy. I haven't had to set up mine for green screen in years, but my main pc is down and it's been set up for years and I'm on my laptop now. I needed a refresher, and realized I couldn't find it because my desktop taskbar was blocking the bottom, I slice it over to my hdmi out monitor and there it was. Anyway, good content, easy to understand and follow. A BIG thumbs up from me.
Kevin, you are a great presenter, thanks. I purchased a non woven fabric (NWF) green screen, probably closer to $15.00 mark, about 2 years ago. It came folded in an envelope, from China to Australia, the nwf material measured approx. 2 metres by 1.5 m ( about 6 ft x 4 ft) The envelope it came in was A4, about 8 inches x 10 inches in size . Now therein lies the problem, the eBay seller, who sold the product , and I noticed nwf fabric where you discuss buying a green screen and I saw the same green non woven fabric in your presentation, the sellers have no clues as to how to remove the 100's and 100's of folded wrinkles. No one on YT either has shown how me to get rid of the wrinkles in this horrible fabric, its sort of a plastic, like the green shopping bags sold at supermarkets. It melts easily if it's wet and you try to dry it with a hair dryer on full. I did try Vegas Movie Studio , which was good and its chroma key , but the wrinkles, well they showed through. I gave up . After 2 years of the green nwf hanging on a curtain rod and spraying it with water now and then, the wrinkles have almost come out. I decided to have another crack at making my own vids and this time using OBS. Still very early days for me . But one thing I notice, it's the lighting that is important and I noticed in your video, in the first few seconds where you show the lighting' you used, the very movie like light you are using to light up your pop out green screen. What light did you use , how did you position it, how close where you to the green screen and where you lit separately to the green screen ? I have heard you need to be several feet in front of the green screen, is that your experience ? Thanks again for the different clips you have put up, you are doing a great service for people trying to get into making video clips etc , btw I would not purchase a nwf green screen even if the seller has 99.99% sellers rating as these companies ask how happy are you with the purchase, practically as soon as it arrives . If asked after 3 months , the ratings for the products would be much lower when you can't get the wrinkles out ! .Cheers Rod
Absolutely excellent. I'm just about to start uploading to a new channel where I will be reading/performing poetry for children, so I wanted to be able to declutter the background and use another image instead. There is obviously a substantial learning curve ahead (at 75 my brain isn't quite as flexible as it once was!!) so I hope you don't mind that I've downloaded your video so that I can look at it several times and make notes. Your presentation and explanations are exceptionally clear - so thanks again.
Hi Kevin, thanks a lot for speaking in the way you do. I'm watching from Spain, and I can understand your English perfectly. Your accent is perfect for us, and it will make you get many, many followers from many countries in which English is not the mother tongue. And of course, you explain everything very well, great professional !!
Your videos are always fantastic!! I've watched your videos for a couple of years now and just realized I've never SUBSCRIBED! This worked perfectly!!!
probably a green screen is almost used in a lot many movies to shoot a scene but after watching this tutorial video i came to know that green screen's are also used at home in a youtube studio's wow👍👍👍
ADVICE FOR FUTURE VIDEOS - Your lighting looks great at the moment but I think you could re-angle the camera or cable manage your desk so that there isn't a mess of cables in the background. You did this very well in the video ' How to use Presenter View in Microsoft Teams' by just angling the camera up a bit more. Hope you take my advice on board as it is the only criticism I can think of!
Thanks for the feedback! Now that I watch it again, I definitely notice all the cables! I'll work to hide these or do some better cable management 😂 Appreciate the reference to the other video where it was better!
@@KevinStratvert I'm glad you saw my comment 😀Just watched the video 'What it's like being a full-time TH-cam Creator', I noticed that whenever you zoomed in, it looked perfectly fine. I'm not saying you should always zoom into your scene but it is something to keep in mind...
You explained all of this so well. For a beginner like me this was really really easy to follow n now I even have a decent looking green screen video thanks to you. Thanks a ton!❤❤
Thanks for the video! The instructions were clear and simple to follow. I had the background removed but didn't know how to use an image of my choice for the background. This tutorial helped me do just that!
Hi Kevin, thanks so much for putting together that great tutorial. I had no idea that just cranking up the spill reduction would give me such a clean chromakey result. Thanks for sharing! 😀
What I do also, is once I have my green screen flattened and properly lit, I use the Windows Snipping Tool to take a screenshot of the camera image in OBS without the Chroma Key filter enabled. I then import that image into Gimp and use Gimps Color Picker Tool to get the color of the green screen in HTML notation. Then, rather than using the Chroma Key - Key Color of "Green", I set the Key Color to the HTML notation that Gimp detected.
"what is not to like? in these present situations where in, this video tutorial is very useful for online classes specially if there's a presentation you need to explain on your online students"
Thank you for your videos. I like them because they are really step by step and not assuming that the viewer knows already a particular process, which is very helpful
Getting the color to work right is proving a challenge but I am going to see if I need more lights on my green screen. Mine screen is just a tad bit smaller than yours so not sure if that is causing it to be off.
👍 Nice video Kevin. I was wondering why you did not use a black color background since OBS is basically black. Instead you used a blue or a purple color background.
What do you use to record this video. How did u record screen without infinite screens. What do you use to highlight the arrow key and create tutorials like this. Thanks
turns out my problem was my camera itself. its white balance was off and the Green was more brown ish. If nothing goes away at first go into your camera settings themself and try adjusting the white balance and make the greens more green
Hello friend thank you so much. Your tutorial is the best one I find yet and why, you walk us through this slowly while being professional. Again thank You. Paul
I've literally been trying this for over a year and your tutorial is the first that actually helped me succeed at using the green screen. Thanks dude!

It's great to see the effort this man puts in pronunciations, so even the auto-generated captions are perfect!
Yeah he's really good
He actually speaks English!
This video made the process so easy. I only watched the video once and successfully removed green screen from a video in like 2 minutes. Thanks for this amazing tutorial.
