- The AMG CLA 35 is ALL NEW for 2020. Mercedes has made some big changes and updates for the CLA. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 that is producing 302HP & mated to a 7-speed DCT transmission. The CLA 35 is longer and wider, and features new LED lighting. On the inside you will find more technology in the way of a full digital dash, and nicely bolstered seats. Is the 2020 Mercedes AMG CLA 35 a BETTER luxury performance sedan than the Audi S3?

Love the color and the interior is really nice. AMG should come with body colored door handles. Assuming this is not equipped with the PE. How did you like it compared to your STI ?

Тhat 2.0L engine is impressive, the sound is also not bad, but the best thing it seems is the handling it actually even looks to handle even better when you are pressing the gas mid corner instead of just rolling it off. German engineering at its finest! =]

currently have the 2016 cla 45 amg and was going to wait for the 2021 cla 45s but Corvette kill me with that pricing and mid-engine car

Joe - Those stylistic features on the hood are called AMG Power Domes. I did a night drive video for my TH-cam channel on a white 2020 AMG CLA 35, and boy was it impressive. Exhaust sounds like PURE AMG in nature 💥 MBUX infotainment is the best in the market right now - and this isn't because I am biased or because I review only Mercedes and AMGs. Ease of use and features presents great value for money. 💸

Really like this things styling. Still wouldn't be able to get one. I cannot do a car like this in auto. It checks all the boxes for a car that would benefit from rowing you're own. It's quick and fast but not so much it wouldn't be more enjoyable with three pedals.

I bought this blue colored CLA 35 but it took over 2 months to get to the dealer. It is cramped but that's not the reason why not many on the road. The long wait time is the reason. Also I added BMS JB4 Tuner to get max power with K&N filter. Please be sure ONLY to use SHELL OR CHEVRON PREMIUM. Few times I used others like Valero. I noticed engine knocking at hard throttle. Used only the two brands mentioned and knocking went away
Will the Amg A 45 S ever come to the US? I prefer that version to this.
With the AMG aerodynamics package, it makes the car look even sportier. It adds a LARGE rear spoiler and some more stuff I don't know what it's called..

That really looks like a fun car to drive. I like the styling, the rims, not bad. At 58 grand it's not too outrageous and with a few mods and a tune you could get 400 hp.

@@jadenkumar usually a stage 2 chip tune and no cats in the exhaust. Have a true duel exhaust all the way back
I bought one of these in April and while 58k is a lot, like most German cars they crush you in cost of the options. You can get one spec'd for under 50k. Mine was priced at $53,500 and paid about $49,750 after negotiation. Yes it should have more standard options but this is no different from how BMW and Audi price their cars. I still was able to get the upgraded sound system, wheels, AMG drive controls, Night package etc. I owned a 2017 S3 and I enjoy this car much more. Great review!

Glenn Martin So far it's really great and yes, your wife won't have a problem, 302hp isn't earth shattering. When in comfort mode it glides along gracefully. Sport + is where it gets Fun!

Why do you want to zonk the front air passing vents just because they are not smooth? I think they look great? If they were smooth you would probably zonk them because they have too much glossy black? Love all your reviews!
I would not recommend wrapping anything! There was an explore ST at the dealer when I bought the one I got and it was exactly like mine only it had a black wrapped roof but no sunroof! And the dealer says you don’t want it it’s already peeling and bubbling I said well screw that LOL!

I almost bought one of these but after a test drive I found the interior to incredibly cramped and no ventilated seats at just shy of $60k, no, absolutely miserable fail for MB and now I know why don’t see a lot of CLA’s on the road. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed because I really like the looks

I think it’s supposed to be called a cla coupe. It’s meant to fit 2 doors because of its size, but they made it into a 4 door car

Did you see the plethora of things suck to the windshield. We are not allowed to remove any of it.

What I really mean is I prefer to see you when you talk while driving (like in the Shelby GT350R review)/wider angle of the interior so maybe a camera on the passenger side window? Just my preference. Personally I would have two and cut between the two views in editing (more work, I know - been a filmmaker for a long time. If you ever need someone to cut these for you - david@wags.media at your service).
I prefer the looks of the S3, so I'd take the Audi.

Amg tag means very little nowadays. Use to mean it was built and tuned by Amg. Now it's just a ecu tuning done by Mercedes

I remember the last gen CLA 45 having extremely loud crackles and gurgles with the exhaust. Kinda wish they sounded better, but hey, I'd choose this over an Audi S3 anytime lol.

Alex before buying the one I have now, I did a test drive before I bought it and it demanded a lot, and in S + the sound changes completely, every time you do a down shift it sounds beautiful with cracks and pops. and the launch control is beautiful. 0 to 60 4.6sg.
@@amf6472 yeah thats the best. When u downshift and it crackles ;) im jealous. I have an 04 Volvo s60R and i loved when it popped when i let off the gas and hit the clutch but i think that meant something was wrong with it 😆

There’s no way I’m putting down 58k on this CLA when I can get a brand new E class for 54. Don’t tell me it’s about the performance cause it’s spitting 300hp.

Which E Class starts at $54k? Unless you get the 350 and the most basic one. Only comes with 241 hp and 400-500 pounds heavier so slower
How would you compare this to the Civic Type R? About the same engine power.. obviously the Benz has better materials but what about the drive?

The C-class stands for Cheap (By Mercedes-Benz standards). It's basically a luxury oriented version of something like the Civic / Golf Type R or the Veloster N.

It's on the right side steering wheel stalk where in most cars you'd have windshield wiper controls.
