  • After a long time with the completion of my kitchen table, I finally tackle the benches. Made completely from 2x4 keeping the budget nice and friendly. Also using pocket holes makes for easy assembly. Please subscribe! Search social media for the tag #kitchenbenchbuild for progress pictures!

    I used 14 2"x4"x8'. There are 3 used for the back slats and 5 for the seating area. Also 2 for the front and back cross brace of the seating area as well as one lower connecting the legs. The width will vary depending on the table size and the seat height is about 19" high, but can be adjusted as well.

    Тяжелая спинка/ из той же доски , что и сидение/. Из опыта еще для придания прочности добавил бы уголки из дерева под 45 градусов, чтобы связать сидение и вертикальные ножки.

    2:35 I don't recommand using an corded drill while using pocket jig, because when you pull out the drill, you also scratch your jig. A cordless one stops instantly.

    • @ASliceofWoodWorkshop
      @ASliceofWoodWorkshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I did it again I would run the 2x4s through a tablesaw and get rid of the rounded corners. Other than that the benches are fantastic

      @@ASliceofWoodWorkshop - Thanks! I make a workbench surface using 2x6s and did exactly that, then I joined them with glue and pocket screws. It can out great, but I was curious about how soft the wood was for use as a seat and the potential for splinters. I think you have convinced me to give it a try! Thanks.

    • @ASliceofWoodWorkshop

      Extend the front legs to the height you want and then add the arm rest using pocket holes. The front seat piece will of course have to be shortened.
