    Definitely a fun video. Its fun seeing the different compounds used. Those plastic resin balls will usually crack an shatter. I shot a super old urethane ball and it basically absorbed 2 different shots of 6.5 Creedmoor lol.

    I'd send that orange ball back to the manufacturer and say: "what the hell! I went for the 7-10 split and the ball just broke apart!"

    That green bowling ball almost look like a watermelon lol. It blew up pretty well too with a 12 gauge.

  • @kevanhubbard9673

    20 Gauge is pretty brutal at close range or with a slug at longish range.If you have a gun chambered in it, which you probably don't,you should try the 20 Ga 3 and 1/2" slugs.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      Never heard of a 3 1/2" 20ga shell. You mean 3"?

    • @kevanhubbard9673

      No 3 and 1/2"!It came out a few years ago and is only loaded in slugs .New England Firearms produce a 3 and 1/2"single shot slug gun which can also fire 2 and 3/4"and 3" shells.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      Why not just get a 12 gauge at that point and not be limited to one gun and ammo selection and poor availability of both...

    • @kevanhubbard9673

      True or a 3" 16 Gauge !I believe that the 20 Gauge 3 and 1/2"shoots very straight and is , obviously, very powerful but the downside is it has a fierce recoil especially as it's fired out of light single shot guns!If I remember the sabot style slugs come out of the business end at proper rifle velocities like around 2100 FPS..

  • @DeeMoback

    just know that is my experience that shotgun slugs shoot just like a rifle at 100 yards.....at 150 yards you BEGIN to see a difference.....most of any reputation slugs have as being not so accurate is shooter error(same with pistol/revolver shooting although with handgun I would say 75-100 yards)...... most inaccuracies with all firearms is shooter error......yup

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      That's what I thought after seeing the ball again in editing- I wish I had turned it to impact a different spot. Even then, still would have been a different effect considering the darn thing was unknowingly filled with wood.

    Would like to see all the variables removed. Same bowling ball. Same ammo manufacturer. Same barrel length with same choke. Same type of slug (Brenneke style slugs are harder and penetrate deeper). Got to eliminate variables to get good results.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      Uh, these are all the same ammo manufacturer and same type of slug, and barrel length on a shotgun doesn't really add any velocity to standard slugs like these. About the only thing you mentioned that I didn't already do and actually matters, is the balls all being the same- which I WISH I could afford to buy all matching new balls just to destroy...

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      No actually look where I showed that it hit- right where it split... in the middle. It's an illusion because it spun down as it was struck.

    • @Standswithabeer

      @@BuckeyeBallistics yes, but that ball was really cheaply made...a .22 might have split it. :) would be cool to see the .20 ga shot again against a solid, better ball. i couldn't judge how much 'real' damage was done on the 'lesser' ball. make sense?

      I know exactly 4 things about bowling balls.
      1) They come in different weights.
      2) They are hard
      3) They are round.
      4) You can bowl with them or shoot them or blow them up with tannerite.

    You hit the bottom of the ball on the twenty gauge!

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      I know it appears that way but it's because the ball spun downward and threw everything downward as soon as it was hit. If you pay attention to the entire video and don't skip, I show where it impacted the ball which is right on the line where it split- practically right in the middle of the ball. You can also tell by looking at where that impact is afterward in relation to the perpendicular lines on the ball, it's right in the middle of those lines instead of towards the end of them. I see the illusion, but it all happened so fast and the ball spun down/forward with all the spawlling thrown in the same direction lightning fast. This is why it appears that I hit the bottom, but the post examination reveals otherwise...

      @tommy - Perhaps you should look at the rest of my channel before you so boldly and blindly make such a statement. I actually do gun reviews here for one, long range shooting, optic reviews, and I don't yell at the camera constantly or make corny intro's and outtro's. I've never seen KB or any channel for that matter do a video like this and the pistol version and upcomming rifle version. And have you even seen his stuff for the last 2 years? I can't even afford to do the videos he's doing...

      Bit harsh - shooting various objects with different guns and ammo isn’t exactly trademarked by any one TH-camr! Plus he’s not presenting directly at the camera, no gimmicks or clowning around (I do like Kentucky Ballistics and demo ranch but I usually fast forward all the intros cos let’s face it they aren’t for everyone)
