@@joewoodchuck3824might have to do some more comparisons. The dollar store does sell the locks with the laminated steel plates, I could use one of those and compare it to a master lock of the same style.
@@ironblud I've owned the dollar store padlocks. Once opened it becomes apparent what the shortcomings are. There isn't much holding the shackle closed and it won't take much down force to defeat it. A side hit to any of them will be far less effective. It takes a significantly bigger caliber to get through the side. I've seen the videos. That attempt may or may not release the shackle. Lock picking lawyer is worth watching, though he focuses on the tumblers.

Good to know a 22 is sufficient to open inexpensive locks.
Has to be the cheaper more common padlocks. Depends what direction you shoot at as well.
@joewoodchuck3824 Yeah, he mentioned that 1 or 2 were super cheap dollar store types. I'd guess a higher quality lock would hold up better.
