I think it stays together for Kevlar, not to be safer for people wearing Kevlar, but so that the power is more concentrated. If it expanded on the Kevlar the target would feel more of a punch than a sharp jab. Bad guys wear Kevlar too.
@@thetruthexperiment Not a bad guess, but it's not by design that it does that. Please bear with me because I'm trying to remember how an engineer explained it to me years ago. Expanding rounds need to encounter a non-compressible fluid in order to function. That little cup in the center of hollow points is designed as an area where fluid can accumulate and hydraulic pressure can force the round either open (as in this case and in most hollow points) or apart (as in frangible rounds). The reason the nose collapses in on itself when it hit the kevlar was because there was no fluid to generate pressure in the cavity. The tips of the round transferred all of the energy into the vest and because of the shape of those tips the round folded along the stress lines in around the weak point (the center cavity). I still sure as heck wouldn't want to get shot by one, with or without a vest.
That’s ol’ “bullseye Breanna!” It would do you good to keep her in the mix. I think she’s good for the channel and good to show women can shoot just as effectively. Love her work!

Does this mean they would be ideal (and safer) for Law Enforcement to use.??? Real stopping power with no risk of pellets or shrapnel injuring bystanders??? As a non- expert with no experience, it just looks to me that it would put a bad guy down with no risk to anyone else. I've seen Corrections Officers (in training) put .223 FMJ slugs through the target and into material some metres behind. @@DIVeltro It might need to be shorter than a traditional flechette, but a bigger rear. Oh, one other observation I want to make, this time about Breanna. When I was a young man, my father sat me down to talk seriously about "the facts of life". As he put it: "Life is TEAM SPORT; when you start thinking of women and marriage, keep that in mind. Choose your teammate CAREFULLY, keeping that in mind." I would say, that whomever managed to win this woman's heart, did a HELLUVAJOB! Not only did he succeed 'choosing' as to the 'womanly' side; he choose a 'teammate' fully capable of standing up right next to him, in the face of WHATEVER 'life battlefield' he is ever confronted with! I'm a combat vet and it would've been damned reassuring to know someone of her skills was right there on my flank.... Grats to not only Breanna, but to the parents who raised her:) Good luck and fortune to them all.

Those shots are dead on and I love that there exists a round with high accuracy, limited penetration (No One wants to hit innocent bystanders) and massive wound channels for 1st shot stopping power. These rounds seem to be highly efficient for energy transfer within the limited depth of penetration and the transfer of that energy as well to the overall mass in which it hits.
Imagine being a guy who does autopsy's and seeing a small little bullet hole, but when you open up the wound, its a massive crater. Talk about disguise, this thing is crazy
Typical hollowpoint description, pathologists are probably used to that, but expecting dozens of fragments that cannot be used by the ballistics investigation.

My favorite round so far. I would like to see the accuracy at 50 yds, though. Great shooting once again Breanna, glad to see you back!
Imagine putting a loose tungsten dart in the core for vest penetration if needed. As accurate as those things have been it should fly true and give it some extra penetration power for hardened targets. Great shooting, and was awesome to see a return guest. Keep up the awesome content!
thanks!
🤔. Wonder if a flechette would ride in it...
@@DIVeltro It might need to be shorter than a traditional flechette, but a bigger rear. The thin pointed nose shouldn't effect flight characteristics too greatly but may slightly effect fluid dynamics upon impact. You would need the back of the dart to match the center of the slug for stability. Like stabilizing a coke can, versus an upside bottle in the palm of your hand.
Oh, one other observation I want to make, this time about Breanna.
When I was a young man, my father sat me down to talk seriously about "the facts of life". As he put it:
"Life is TEAM SPORT; when you start thinking of women and marriage, keep that in mind. Choose your teammate CAREFULLY, keeping that in mind."
I would say, that whomever managed to win this woman's heart, did a HELLUVAJOB!
You said that you don't want to tick off Breanna's dad or husband, but the way that gal shoots, I would be worried about her.
Agreed.
My thoughts exactly. 😁 My wife and her Glock 19 w/red dot would agree, too.
She has a 12 gauge loaded with Gatekeepers in her home.
For reals
Seriously, she doesn't need anyone protecting her - she's got SKILLS!
Bloody awesome round and the accuracy out of a smooth bore was very surprising! Can't wait to see Dead Eye Danny & Ballistic Breanna competition! (hint hint)
Bree is an awesome shot, great job on this. That first test on the kevlar vest is insane. Stops the round but damn, that would hurt to say the least! Great performance, consistency and damage to target.
She is one great shot. The projectiles are awesome and totally unexpected.
That has to be one of the Most Impressive Slug rounds I have ever seen !
brings a whole new meaning to " one shot, one kill " more like one shot, ground meat. the Gorden Ramsay of slugs, perfection and attitude
Love her hair and her shooting skills. Great addition to the channel.
The three of you have great camaraderie, and OG’s narration is entertaining, as usual. Thanks for the camera work Jeff 🎉
thanks Brett
That was a very impressive round. I have never seen such consistency in expansion.
5:12 Watching the vest pack itself into the dummy's abdomen was an education unto itself.
makes me think you might have better luck having the thing go right through you.
Brett Baxter I can believe that there would be a bunch of internal damage, even though the slug was stopped. One would still be out of action....
@@archjen Hydrostatic pressure is going to force very large organs out of your major orifices, much like a Playdoh extruder, but a lot more red.
Pretty sure you'd still have pretty juicy insides if a human was behind that vest.
Armor penetrating? No, this round makes the armor penetrate you.
When you want a musket caliber hole without the dirty powder and slow rate of fire. Just as the Founders intended.
This thing would make a watermelon caliber hole!
@@TheRangaTanGaming LOL!!!!
69th like giggity
Absolutely vicious! Bt far the best performing slugs I've ever seen you all test! Great shooting Breanna!
I'm voting this as the best slug you guys have ever shot.
I'm voting for more Jeff, OG, Danny, and Breanna.
i concur - have not seen a better slug on this channel - nor any other...
@@jonniiinferno9098 tacti drive was the most accurate this one is a very close second, but with that kind of load transfer this slug would likely detonate a scumbag, democrat (same thing)
She has more hair than Danny, Jeff and Greg combined.
Impressive slug delivered by an impressive shooter!!
Impressive slug delivered by an impressive...
and cute as hell😍
This slug is just about amazing. Does not break up or shatter when it hits Kevlar the pedals consistently spread out when it hits gel...... It just looks like a complete badass
At times I wish my sweetheart, married ten years this August, had hair like Breanna. But then I remember that I have to plunge the tub drain once a month.🤔
Good shooting!👍
Nicely designed copper slug.
You will always hear, your on my hair LOL
In keeping with an old, old meme, I think this finally is a solid contender for the question: "will it make a good home defense round?"
absolutely
That's a mean slug!
Sure surprised us!
@@taofledermaus Can those still be bought?
Got email notification and ordered a box on 11-11, got em last week. There in their new home 870.
Thanks for the video.
Ah good!
Yea. Instant regret for anyone busting in!
I WILL be buying these rounds !!! Best of luck Gregg and Danny, we'll miss you...LOL
Exactly. Fun while it lasted. 🤣
😂
Imagine being a guy who does autopsy's and seeing a small little bullet hole, but when you open up the wound, its a massive crater. Talk about disguise, this thing is crazy
Typical hollowpoint description, pathologists are probably used to that, but expecting dozens of fragments that cannot be used by the ballistics investigation.
A 69 caliber entrance hole is not really considered small. In any case, that round is a beast.
@@timothyprice9064 Nice
@@timothyprice9064 That's the size of the original Minie ball.
I definitely wouldn't want to be hit by either
@@sharonrigs7999 Trust me, I agree with you on that.
Great show Guys ,thanks for all the effort that went into this
Our pleasure!
That is impressive! I like the idea of slugs in my HD shotgun but have always worried about putting holes through two houses and a car so load buckshot. Accuracy, Rapid energy dump, massive hole.... yup. I'll be ordering some for sure. Also, great job Breanna!
Thank you!!!
Breanna is a just as good of a shot than anyone else that you have on your channel. My daughter is 15 and she is very impressive with a 9mm carbine. Officer Greg is a very fun person. Please keep making these great quality videos. Thanks
Hang one of those expanded slugs on your front door with a sign that reads, "This house protected by these" that should scare off anyone thinking about breaking in.
Good video.
Thanks.
Then it gets stolen cause its copper
If they speak English and can read lol, but yeah most likely exactly like the guy above said (it would get stolen)
@@lordfrostdraken you obviously don't know the price of copper. That isn't even worth stealjng
@@lordfrostdraken copper is currently ~$4.51/lbs, you'd need to steal about 5000 of these just to pay the minimum bail for commiting that absolute joke of a crime
@@duckyproductions8648 sorry my 3 month old comment triggered you.
What a fantastic slug design.....works as advertised and then some..
That round center mass is not survivable.
Breanna, that’s some damn fine shooting.
Thank you so much!!!
That round hitting your leg would probably bleed you out in 2 minutes
@@lordfrostdraken what leg? There’s not gonna be one of it hits the bone.
I'd like to see what it would do to bone. I suspect a shot in any limb is going to shatter the bone and the amazing amount of expansion in the gel must mean any and all veins and vessels would be severed. So impressive. Want to take this to a feral hog hunt.
Amazing consistency, both in expansion and accuracy... I would have liked to see this at extended range, like 50 yards. Good shooting Breanna!
Breanna's cool. Hope she becomes a regular guest "mass accelerator operator."
Thanks :)
Good to see the lady on the range.and thank you for your channel I’ve always got something to watch.
thanks Jeremy
For a rookie shooter, she's Good.
The consistency of the ammo can always help any shooter, but this level of consistency says: Natural Talent.
Bring her back.
How you know she's a rookie?
@@izzyplusplusplus1004 Everybody is a rookie at something sometime.
I'm pretty sure I heard her say she'd never done this in her first appearance. I could be wrong...
Thank you!!
I'm new-ish to shotguns, been raised with rifles and handguns with the occasional shotgun. I come from a big game hunting family so there's not a lot of use for a shotgun. However, I'll shoot any firearm as long as I've got the ammo 😎
@@bullseyebreanna6862 great shot, you're awesome
@@SoulDelSol thank you!!
Great accuracy and one heck of a round never seen expansion so perfect. Cannot believe any of the petals didn't break off. Crazy I'm very impressed. Thanks for the test. Never would have known
Glad you enjoyed it
That is some great shooting! Great work Breanna. Devastating slug. Thank you for your videos they are fun to watch. As a former first responder (volunteer firefighter 10 yrs.) I understand your humor. I have Multiple Sclerosis and it has advanced to which I now require full time care (and if I hear some hair bag) sorry need to be PC) inmate of a correctional facility c/o how bad they have it I am going to scream! Come on a little spend a day with me in this warehouse for the sick and aged. Well anywho thank you guys again you really help people.
My best mate in my teens had according to him, “gimp disease”. Never found out what it was exactly but it curled him up into a crippled little ball and he drank methadone from a Big Gulp cup full of orange juice for his pain, (the amount in the cup was high enough to kill a dozen big men, another of our friend’s had a sip and had to be rushed to the hospital). I never once heard Rory complain even as he was drowning in his own lungs for two years before he mercifully died. He was an inspiration and I miss him. His computer training business is still being run by two of his three 24 hour medical assistants and the third opened her own tech business and services several insurance companies.
I thought she shot amazingly, some of the best clear gel shots ever!
What a cool demo!
I've been watching your show here for quite awhile. Love the great mix of experimental 12G projectiles. This particular projectile is the bees roller-skates without a doubt! Can't get them here in Australia but I certainly wish we could. I can imagine they would be great on big razor back boars and buffalo in the NT. Having Brianna on the show is a great idea as she is a breath of fresh air. Pretty lady with a great smile and laugh. Don't lose her.
thank you Terry!
10:54 ... Yep... She's one of us.
There's something she EDCs to the point, that there's a worn white spot on her pocket!
noticed that also
She may or may not be well-armed. 🤫

Great shooting Brianna. And thanks to Greg for sourcing this round. Very impressive.
Wow! That temp cavity tho. That's an impressive round, and some damn fine shooting from Breanna.

Danny's hair has gotten long
Dave Walker
And the grey is gone 😲. 🇺🇸😎

What a combo!
I have nothing but respect for Brianna you handle your gun well and are a good marksman and probably could give Greg a lesson or two. 🤯🇨🇦
Fantastic Round. Fantastic Shooting. I was really anticipating this episode.
Reminds me of Star Trek: Voyager. Every season, they would pick up a new crew member with a unique set of skills.
I hope Breanna becomes a regular on the show.
When I saw the sneak peek on the story board, I knew this was going to be a episode for the ages.
I hope she''ll be able to find the time to shoot with us more
Bravo Breanna! I loved that the slug doesn't expand on body armor, I wonder how many ribs would be broken with a sternum shot like that! These ought to help keep the courts busy "the suspect was down but alive".
😁😁😁
Very interesting performance
I would agree.
I second that
Third
