It's not about being happy. It's about accurate information. Different target construction, barrel lengths, and bullet construction invalidate any useful comparison. When given results that are presented as a comparison, it is both natural and healthy to question methods. These variables invalidate any conclusions. These people didn't come here to be 'happy', they came looking for actual information and were disappointed.

But heres a couple of things I wanted to say about your video... thanks for using the firearms that you have and the ammo that you have... and if someone else on youtube doesnt like the way you do your videos with what you have then they can just do their own video... no need to apologize for doing what you are doing with what you have.
I agree. When you do these tests use the actual pistol and ammo you carry. Minus the FMJ, of course. Doing tests with borrowed and long barreled guns Tell you nothing if you don't carry it. The only person qualified to use guns other than his, is Paul Harrell. Who's going to argue with him??
Regarding clean-up. When we go to the farm to shoot, we always lay out Harbor Freight tarps - at the target area and the firing line to pick up brass. You can usually stake them to the ground with tent stakes. You may not be able to sweep up all the target debris, but you can the brass. Then unstake one end and the sides and lift as you go towards the unstaked side. Easy peasy clean-up.
I like your style and content and by the views you are getting a lot of others enjoy it too. word of advice, no need to do all the apologizing at the start of the video to try to prevent the keyboard experts from criticizing every little thing. they will always find something to complain about in order to validate that they are experts.

I think the 9mm was too fast and pointed to do much- at least that's my theory. Same reason I think .45 did more than the .40- because it's so wide and slow... (physics against somewhat brittle plastic)

In most barrier and gel tests I've seen, the 40 is a better penetrator than the 45. The layered thickness of the ball construction seems to make a big difference in destruction. I'll check out your H-P 100mm review.
If I recall correctly, that was also reflected in my one single 20% gel test with all of these minus the 10mm- you can view that if you wish in the .40s&w gel test playlist...
Bowling balls (and bolling pins - I used to shoot a lot of those in competition) are both lots of fun to shoot. The balls can have all sorts of different construction both inside and outside in hardness and especially actual material makeup inside
For the compact 10mm try Grizzly 200gr, Buffalo Bore 200gr. and Underwood 155gr. The 200gr will run 1250 to 1275 and 155gr will run 1350 to 1400 fps from a Glock 29 Gen 4. That 155gr. Underwood load is loud and a rowdy little feller. Buffalo Bore will get about another inch or two penetration in gel but that 155gr has some energy. The Underwood 155gr is a XTP pretty positive and the Buffalo Bore is the same type bullet in my opinion but the Grizzly may be a Nosler. All function excellent with heavy clothing on clear gel. Probably the best 3 10mm rounds in my humble opinion.
How much did u give for the hipoint 10mm? I paid 210 for my hipoint 45 back 15 years ago. If they had a1 0mm back then i would of bought it instead but hipoint is a fine gun. Only ever time it jammed was like 12000 rounds in without being cleaned so i tore it down cleaned it and ran flawlessly til i bought other pistols and basically retired my hipoint. It always shot really clean though first bullet through it i smacked a softball at 35 yards dead center. NO shame in a hipoint. I just have others that i can tear down in the field if i had to which isnt possible w my hipoint 45. My brother bought the 40 when k bought the 45 and both of ours ran flawless there entire lives. I got a Xdm elite 10mm but my buddy just purchased the S&W 10mm with the ported barrel it feel even better in your hands then the xdm elite

No because according to all the "experts," I don't hold the gun right. I already get ridiculed constantly for it as is, so I could only imagine the backlash if I posted a video suggesting that others hold the gun "wrong". But it's basically just the thumbs forward method, except I curl both thumbs down with the left being hooked over top of the right pulling down to lock everything in. Other than that, very firm grip with all fingers including the thumbs and lock both arms completely forward without any bends in them. As for stance when standing, I always teach "fighting" stance- stand with your fists up like you are actually fighting someone. So for me this means my left foot forward and right foot back (for stability), standing slightly sideways and leaning slighty forward (again for stability). If you watch enough of my pistol your reviews you will see all this...

Yeah it hurt, but I do that constantly anyway to keep new guns comming for new content for the channel. The plan is to eventually be able to buy averything back I ever had to sell once the channel is big enough and paying well enough to be able to do so... (fingers crossed 🤞)

I can't get over how that tiny table makes those bowling balls look like beach balls!!! and what's with that truck at 13:39? Is that not downrange, even if to the side some?
Good eye! As you can see, they came up from down below the hill where I cannot see- especially while focusing on the ball and firing. It is sorta downrange but pretty far off to the left- the camera angle makes it look worse than it is. Either way, I was unaware, and looks like they stopped and waited for me to finish shooting. The whole compound is a multi-family private property, so whoever it was was well aware of what we were doing and chose to drive up to that point under their own free will unbeknowngst to me.
Lol I caught that while editing. If you notice, it was after the trigger pull, not during. I was squatting down and my footing wasn't the best, so I'm guessing I moved. I hit the same spot with it 4 times after that so I don't think I'm flinching with it 😅

You have to use the same type ball to get a good result. The balls are made differently and of different materials. They will also have different cores in the center.
I hit on this in the video- but I don't have $1000 to go buy a bunch of brand new bowling balls just to shoot them. And no clue where I could get a bunch of used ones all matching either. Not like the local bowling range has a dozen used balls just waiting for someone to buy them- at least not any of my local lanes...
My wife owns a bowling center, 38 lanes. We always have used balls and pins for sale at cheap prices. Check with your local center if you want more stuff to shoot. Also as pointed out below there are a lot of different materials used in today's balls. The ones in the video are all cheap plastic balls.
So uh, how cheap is cheap? Because I only payed $4 per ball (talked down from $5) from some lady who used them en masse as lawn ornaments. Curious what you guys sell used balls for and I'm assuming it's at least triple of what I payed? But I might try the local alleys next time if I can't find them from my favorite gal again. I just know I can't afford to be doing this if they are $15 or more each...

Learned a trick if u want to keep your lens from turning black on your light when u go to the range use some chapstick on the lens or vasoline. Then wipe it off after ward and your lens wont be covered in unbrunt powder.
To do a good comparison, the bowling balls should be the same manufacturer and model to have consistency in manufacturing. If your comparing round size, the rounds should be relative loads and barrel length. Number of turns. If just for fun, fun.
Of course it's just for fun- how is any scientific data collected from this, even if they were all exactly the same? .380 is more powerful than .22LR, 9mm more so than .380, .40S&W more so than 9mm and so on. Everybody already knows this. Now if you want hard data under controlled circumstances to analize, that's what my ballistic gel tests are for...
You said it's not watered down 10mm but it most definitely is. I'd only use that stuff for target practice. Magtech, and sellier & bellot are both pretty lethargic, mediocre, "wow that was uneventful, I thought ten millimeter was supposed to have actual power" type of rounds. If you're gonna do a demonstration showing the true power of rounds - Go with Buffalo bore, Hornady, or Underwood. They load 10mm ammunition like it was intended to be when it was introduced. They tend to shoot 1200-1800fps. There's also civil defense 10mm by liberty ammunition that runs 2400fps
Why do you 10mm guys always do this? Norma's original 10mm load released to the public was a 200gr bullet *advertised* at a 1200fps muzzle velocity, which puts in in the lower half of the 600ft-lb range of energy- SAME as these Magtech used in the video. Their (Norma's) own reload data for this load actually puts it slightly slower than 1200fps and thus slightly less energy, so the "1200fps" advertisement on the box back then was actually a slight marketing exaggeration. So again, these Magtech in the video are at a nearly identical power level as the original 10mm load- in the low 600ft-lb range. You want me to use Buffalo Bore and Underwood for 10mm but not for the rest lol. BB & UW max power loads would give the 10mm about 25% more power than what's stated above, but they do the same in all the other calibers as well. You want me to cherry pick and use the most powerful loads for the 10mm but not the others...
So is the composition of the bowling balls, which varied wildly unfortunately. If you want all the numbers and data for a true comparison, watch my ballistic gel tests...

Great vid. Yep it *is* the makeup of the balls. The ball companies wouldn’t want you to do it but if you shoot one of the balls like the pros and league bowlers use you might’ve shot through to see the shape of the core. This might be the fate of my own old bowling balls one of these days!
I think there are some physics at play here. 9mm has a very narrow pointed bullet going faster than .40 & .45- I think it just sliced right in due to this. In the upcomming rifle video, you'll see the same thing happen between 5.56x45 & 7.62x39, where the faster smaller cartridge didn't do anything compared to the slower larger caliber (even though power levels are similar).
I don't want to be the safety Sally but I just wanted to let it can be dangerous A friend of mine shot a bowling ball with a 30-30 at about 50 yards or so while it was rolling down a hill. It exploded and threw a chunk the size of an orange back and dented the door on the truck that was 10 feet behind him.
.30-30 is a bit more powerful than any of these guns. That said I wore safety glasses and hid behind the picnic table as you can see. When I used the shotguns I wrapped a hoodie around my neck to protect from cuts and hid behind a tree. With the rifles at 25 yards (posts this weekend), nothing came back. When I shot concrete blocks a year or two ago I wore a helmet and ignorant people made fun of me for it...
This is what my gel tests are for. Also as I stated in the video that I'm working on aquiring more equal barrel lengths for all calibers. I only have so much money living paycheck to paycheck...
Back in my day, I conducted drug deals at the local bowling alley just because I knew about bowling balls impenetrability from bullets, if things went left😅👍🏽

Where do you get the used balling balls from and what price should I expect to pay?
Some random lady on marketplace for $5 each. I got really lucky... Usually cost considerably more, even used.

different balls are made from different materials. plastic, urethane and reactive resin. you have all three different ones.
Also iron oxide and barium is used
If you haven't you have to try the sig xten, it's ease of use and minimal recoil will have you mag dumping it.
I had the X-VTAC for a minute which is similar and I indeed loved that gun. Reviewed it last year, accurate out to 125 yards for me...

You have to use the same type ball to get a good result. The balls are made differently and of different materials. They will also have different cores in the center.
I hit on this in the video- but I don't have $1000 to go buy a bunch of brand new bowling balls just to shoot them. And no clue where I could get a bunch of used ones all matching either. Not like the local bowling range has a dozen used balls just waiting for someone to buy them- at least not any of my local lanes...
My wife owns a bowling center, 38 lanes. We always have used balls and pins for sale at cheap prices. Check with your local center if you want more stuff to shoot. Also as pointed out below there are a lot of different materials used in today's balls. The ones in the video are all cheap plastic balls.
So uh, how cheap is cheap? Because I only payed $4 per ball (talked down from $5) from some lady who used them en masse as lawn ornaments. Curious what you guys sell used balls for and I'm assuming it's at least triple of what I payed? But I might try the local alleys next time if I can't find them from my favorite gal again. I just know I can't afford to be doing this if they are $15 or more each...

It’s difficult to hit in the same part a round target
Learned a trick if u want to keep your lens from turning black on your light when u go to the range use some chapstick on the lens or vasoline. Then wipe it off after ward and your lens wont be covered in unbrunt powder.

There was more ammo in the mag- that was my fully loaded 12rd backup mag for conceal carry.

Do not attempt at home? Would that be for legal reasons?
To do a good comparison, the bowling balls should be the same manufacturer and model to have consistency in manufacturing. If your comparing round size, the rounds should be relative loads and barrel length. Number of turns. If just for fun, fun.
Of course it's just for fun- how is any scientific data collected from this, even if they were all exactly the same? .380 is more powerful than .22LR, 9mm more so than .380, .40S&W more so than 9mm and so on. Everybody already knows this. Now if you want hard data under controlled circumstances to analize, that's what my ballistic gel tests are for...

With 9mms start using real ammo like seismic 185gr rounds and buffalo bore 147gr +p hard cast Rounds..a huge difference..

You said it's not watered down 10mm but it most definitely is. I'd only use that stuff for target practice. Magtech, and sellier & bellot are both pretty lethargic, mediocre, "wow that was uneventful, I thought ten millimeter was supposed to have actual power" type of rounds. If you're gonna do a demonstration showing the true power of rounds - Go with Buffalo bore, Hornady, or Underwood. They load 10mm ammunition like it was intended to be when it was introduced. They tend to shoot 1200-1800fps. There's also civil defense 10mm by liberty ammunition that runs 2400fps
Why do you 10mm guys always do this? Norma's original 10mm load released to the public was a 200gr bullet *advertised* at a 1200fps muzzle velocity, which puts in in the lower half of the 600ft-lb range of energy- SAME as these Magtech used in the video. Their (Norma's) own reload data for this load actually puts it slightly slower than 1200fps and thus slightly less energy, so the "1200fps" advertisement on the box back then was actually a slight marketing exaggeration.
So again, these Magtech in the video are at a nearly identical power level as the original 10mm load- in the low 600ft-lb range. You want me to use Buffalo Bore and Underwood for 10mm but not for the rest lol. BB & UW max power loads would give the 10mm about 25% more power than what's stated above, but they do the same in all the other calibers as well. You want me to cherry pick and use the most powerful loads for the 10mm but not the others...

Great vid. Yep it *is* the makeup of the balls. The ball companies wouldn’t want you to do it but if you shoot one of the balls like the pros and league bowlers use you might’ve shot through to see the shape of the core.
This might be the fate of my own old bowling balls one of these days!

9mm only does well on ballistic gels otherwise its underpowered, but nice video.
I think there are some physics at play here. 9mm has a very narrow pointed bullet going faster than .40 & .45- I think it just sliced right in due to this. In the upcomming rifle video, you'll see the same thing happen between 5.56x45 & 7.62x39, where the faster smaller cartridge didn't do anything compared to the slower larger caliber (even though power levels are similar).

I don't want to be the safety Sally but I just wanted to let it can be dangerous A friend of mine shot a bowling ball with a 30-30 at about 50 yards or so while it was rolling down a hill. It exploded and threw a chunk the size of an orange back and dented the door on the truck that was 10 feet behind him.
.30-30 is a bit more powerful than any of these guns. That said I wore safety glasses and hid behind the picnic table as you can see. When I used the shotguns I wrapped a hoodie around my neck to protect from cuts and hid behind a tree. With the rifles at 25 yards (posts this weekend), nothing came back. When I shot concrete blocks a year or two ago I wore a helmet and ignorant people made fun of me for it...
Liberty ammo has all those calibers minus 22lr. Very good ammo

I really enjoy your videos but the info is not accurate since you are not using the same type of ball and the same barrel length.
This is what my gel tests are for. Also as I stated in the video that I'm working on aquiring more equal barrel lengths for all calibers. I only have so much money living paycheck to paycheck...
