Bought the exact some gun at Palmetto state 3 weeks ago. Don’t buy the full size surefire light if you want the light to be inboard of the flash hider. No buyers regret at all ! It’s a phenomenal weapon. Leaving for the range now to run 62 grain through it for the first time, 55’s did well during my 40 yard break in but it’s time to find out what’s she’s capable of.
I think its awesome. I always liked the idea of getting something like the DDM4V7 but I also liked the Springfield Saint. Couldn't decide so ended up not getting either.
DD should modify the plastic case and move the handle location so the gun would fit inside with a red dot or scope still mounted, otherwise you may have to take it off. Gun is awesome.
@@travisp11 that honor goes to Springfield armory for me. All versions of the M14 come in a nice cases that work well with optics and other accessories.That said, I was happy to have the DD case and will put it to use with another weapon.

I have the same, FDE. Also bought milspec grip and stock to replace the black color. I have a Surefire light. You have a very awesome gun. I happy with mine I could have bought the V7 but I rather have that mean look with that rail. Ps I sold my m and p sport2 it was garbage. Just so I can buy my DDM4.

Yup. I got some of the info for my build from your pics and info. You had mentioned that you had seen one other person that had built one too? The Vickers movie gun episodes gave me some good close ups on the details. I just think it is a sweet build. Sucks there weren't any low cost Eotech 553s or M720Vs out there.
I prefer the A1 due to its SOCOM lineage and use. I also like the 14.5” barrel and the FDE/black upper. It just looks mean. Plus…I was building a rifle that looked like Josh Brolins from Sicario so I didn’t have a choice, LOL
When I picked it up from my FFL he gave me some stickers to give away for my monthly Patreon drawing so I tossed em in my case on the way out of the store.

@@AARRALX probably just the hand guard. They are switching over to the RIS 2 or 3 handguard but that is all that I have heard so far. They have jumped up in price quite a bit over the last few years.

May I ask does the DD M4A1 come with any of the QD connect mounts for sling swivels? Or do you have to buy 2 of their $50 DD QD mounts?
I believe the stock has a QD mount on it otherwise you can add a rear receiver QD mount or add any QD mount on the front accessory rail.

Didn’t realize DD included a vertical fire grip with this model.
I don’t think they do with the M4A1 but they may do so with the M4A1 Mil Spec + model. I put a knights armament on mine.
