- Any good thing is made better when it requires effort. Food is better when you cook it, relationships are better when you work on them, adventures are better when they are difficult. On the Island of Bermuda there is a small subculture of people, for whom the colors are brighter, the laughter is louder, and the food and drinks taste so much better. These are the sailors who choose to travel to this distant outpost the hard way. And all though it is far from anything, Bermuda is a crossroads where Sailors from all over the Atlantic come together to share in their hard won revelry.

Epidemic Sound
A fun fact about all those beautiful white “stepped” roofs on the houses in Bermuda. The law requires that every house must collect 80 percent of the water that falls on its roof. To achieve this, each square foot of roof space must be matched with eight gallons of tank space. With the building regulations in Bermuda, every home is self sufficient. The “stepped” tiled roofs slow the water run off down allowing for better collection.

Such a blessing to see you all made it and are well! The silence is always suspenseful for those that wait on them that brave the blue water.
I noticed something that I’m trying to form as a good habit: filling up the diesel tanks when arriving at a new place. It’s always hectic leaving it until the last day at a place, so I’ve tried to make it the first chore, and it has helped a bunch.
Full tanks attract less moisture in the tanks too so a double benefit.
Love seeing people enjoying my home island. Sometimes when you're born and raised in such a beautiful place, you take it for granted where other see the beauty.
The cherries can be tangy but they can also be quite sweet and have a distinct taste different from the cherries that you buy in stores. Locals know which to pick to get the best ones from years of experience
Picking those wild cherries are apart of every child raised in Bermudas childhood, along with loquats which also grow wild. They are like having a treat you don't have to pay for🤤
That water looks do amazing; jump in already!
What a friend to do laundry on the boat! So it takes three to really have a good time and share on the boat(LOL)

I grew up in Miami and those cherry bushes are everywhere. We feasted on them when we were kids.

I sailed into Bermuda from Niantic Conn last October, and Radio Bermuda really makes you feel welcome. They take the time to give good directions to Customs and Immigration (and they were serious about COVID).
Great pictures of Libra (60' blue hull ketch) in the bay. I'll be on a passage with Capt. Ryan Rayfield and Libra in August leaving Portland Maine.

All the work that y'all done has paid off without y'all saying anything I guess everything went wonderful on the sale from Carolina I've always wanted to go to Bermuda since my dad spent time there in the 70s doing work for the government his favorite part was swimming in the caves what a great beach party with some of the legendary Sailors of our time

Reminds me of the time I was a kid, decided to go out in the woods and cut down trees with an axe and did not tell my parents. Although I know the feeling of being on my boat, out in the ocean. Sailing a vessel to all these awsome places is living the dream. You guy's deserve happiness, because you work so hard. Congratulations! Hope the rest of the passage is as great. First time I was in Bermuda was the Newport-Bermuda race of 1964. Had a great time - St. George, Hamilton, Church Bay, RBYC, etc. Beautiful place. Enjoy.

Robert Eastburn here. I see you showed some good photos of my old boat the "Libra". I rebuilt the Libra in the mid 90s. With Mr. Hall. Everything was done in my shop in Gulf Shores, Al. I did not rebuild the rig till 2001 making a lot of changes to it. Any way glad to see her and you guys take care and enjoy.
Great to see your comment and history with Libra. What a great boat she is. I just came back from sailing with Ryan (who is awesome) on the passage from Bermuda back up to Connecticut. We had a great sail, in no small part to a great boat! And yes…the bonfire party was every bit as amazing as Jordan and Desiree captured on video…was one of the highlights of the trip!

Awesome, can't believe I missed seeing you guys, I certainly would've come over to say hi as I love the adventures but been so busy with work that I've not been on your page for a few weeks. I did get out as fishing and boating so probably steamed right past you at some point, face palm LOL. I did see a big crew on your 'base camp' a few times as we went past, that's called Higgs or Billy Goat Island. We used to camp there over the Cup Match holiday in our younger days. Hope you had a great time and will come back this way soon. Safe travels gang. xo
