My first $10k month as an entrepreneur

  • Maybe this makes me a "guru" but I just can't give away everything I know for free, I'm sorry. I want to help people, but trying to help everybody requires a lot more time, effort, and energy than I initially thought. And doing everything for free just took time away from me running my own agency and I wasn't really able to help people because I was just giving 1 sentence answers to very complex and complicated questions.
So, I created The Mogul thinking that it would be better to FULLY help 1 person, than to partially help 100 people. Everything, all in one place to help someone succeed to the best of my ability while getting paid for my work. I'm pretty confident I can bring anyone success as long as they are willing to put in the effort on their end. If you watched my free videos on TH-cam, imagine the value I would give you if I was actually getting paid.

I think the shift is what most people struggle with; shift of getting out of the comfort zone, going from instant gratification to delayed gratification.

    • @judah142
      @judah142 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

I’d argue they’re different, although maybe definitions of discipline shift from person to person. Discipline seems to be more of a function of self control and organization while addiction is the obsession and passion.

You're getting Dopamine from winning, therefore you're addicted.
Its not a hard concept to understand, in the past I was highly addicted to my businesses as-well.
I also was an ex-gamer who hit 6 figures, etc etc.
I'd wake up everyday to tons of money in my account, it felt like a videogame, what isn't there to love?
The hard part is doing the job when you aren't winning, or when you get used to the money.
The hard part is relentless studying, refinement, etc, especially for those who can't hit rewards quickly.
The opposite end of motivation is hating your life, if you hate your life badly enough, you'll change it.
Everything I do now is raw discipline, I rarely get motivated now.
I just know if I'm not winning, I'm losing.

I've often thought about the parallels between video games and life. The idea that you play within this system, starting without knowing anything, where you figure out what works best for you and you do it over and over and over again, then you get good, then you get really good and get that natural game sense. It really is addiction, obsession, the ability to just keep at it until you get it. Great video.

Deamn this video really resonated with me. I just booted up mario kart wii after a long time and invited my friend over to play. He had spent countles of hours with the game when he was younger. I couldn’t win against him at all in the beginning. He was playing with the automatic setting so I realizes I had to learn how to drift. Then I watched many videos on youtube and played everyday just to learn the mechanics in depth. Now he hasn’t been able to beat me.
I am starting a marketing business and it just clicked to me that if I just become as addicted with my company I can recreate the succes I had with mario kart in real life. Thank you man for the advice.

I love how relatable you sound in this video. I feel like you may have been naturally competitive, but you never found a productive outlet (productive in terms of what is the social norm). This sounds a lot like myself in my life.
I believe that you found a way to take action, which is what most people (including myself) struggle with. It may not have been completely logical, but you were able to force yourself to do a thing and improve on the thing continuously.
Another way to look at the "addiction" is to see it as "passion". You passionately strived to be the best gamer/fantasy basketballer/business owner. As a side note, I think this passion can get muddled by the natural tendency to compare to others. It's easy to get discouraged by looking at so-and-so who is in the top 000.1% of your passion. In this case, it's probably best to shoot for the stars and end up landing on the moon. Hopefully you find that where you ended up is actually pretty cool and you can keep going.

Procrastination has been by far my biggest problem my entire life. Personally, I'm just a normal dude who is a homebody outside of working. This addiction theory you have, I've figured that out long ago myself. You have to be addicted to getting better and becoming successful. Nothing will change if you're just sitting around and wishing and hoping and prsying without any real action and dedication. Also, patience and discipline are what's needed.

Dude great video. I come from a gaming background as well and my mom said the same thing about me and games lol. Now that I'm older it's been trying to figure out how to direct my hyper focus. My hyper fixation on things is a strength of mine, and these days its been toward music mixing/production which is where I want to grow.

Outstanding brother. I was told the same things. Once I went for the things I wanted and enjoyed I found happiness. Much respect. You are the real deal remember that. This video is more useful than a lot of the videos out there. People need to hear this. Well done I’d like to learn more.

Love the concept of getting addicted. Addiction leads to consistency, consistency allows you to get BETTER at the craft. Addiction will drive you to research methods to improve / gain more eyeballs on your business. This method totally makes sense. You have to be relentless to succeed 👏

Not really the type of advice I was looking for, but congrats on achieving it! And yes! Your drive will be your addiction, the more you put into it, the more you’ll achieve. no one said it was going to be easy, but the fact that it IS something you are passionate about, will make any challenges worth surpassing. Keep it up everyone.
