Every rendition of the miata from the NA to ND has been a hit, something the camaro/mustang hasn't achieved

i own a mustang so i know this is going to sound defensive but in the second gen miata was meh. That being said every other generation has been great.

idk the third gen was pretty lame, and really heavy (for a miata). And give it 50 years and the miata might have a few more issues

No.. you mean 3rd gen, the NC... the NA/NB crowd hate 'em ...mostly..... ND definitely helped bring back the original love for it...

For pure driving enjoyment, my NA Miata still checks all the right boxes, and for a fraction of the price. But man, this new ND RF is really gorgeous. I think as a performance proposition, the NDs are the way to go. They're so capable out of the factory that I think they're going to become a force to be reckoned with on track. The only thing that would hold me back from one of these new cars is the space (I still feel like I have more interior and storage space in my NA), and price. The new Toyota 86 and BRZ are also really well dialed in now too. It's great to have so many good choices in this segment!

That color is called ceramic metallic, David. The trim level on this car is also called a "club" model with the BBS rims, Brembo brakes and Bilstein suspension package. I sell Mazda's as a career and this RF model has been absolutely slaying so far this year. Car literally handles like it's on rails or something. Absolutely unreal on back roads! But I'm glad you uploaded this video. I watch you basically every day as it is but I'll definitely refer some of my potential customers to your review. Nice work!

No body-roll? Only with the (in Germany) optional Bilstein dampers. The stock dampers sadly have quite a lot body roll.
Still love the car, driving feels so good

Everyone complaining about how 30k is too much for this little Miata. We get it. You can get something faster and bigger for 30k but the Miata is very unique and so nimble. You can't get that with a boat with more horses. It's kinda like my 370z, too expensive for what you get but it's smaller and lighter than a 5.0 or challenger or whatever.some people like paying for fun little zippy cars and I believe that's what you pay for.

I'd just like to point out that, unlike many other companies, Mazda did not put some cheap plastic bit over the valve cover. All metal, baby. Also, I'd like the wheels if they were 16"s or 15"s. Those BBS's are just a little too big for my taste, although I guess clearing brakes is important.

I managed to drive the new ND a bit ago at my local dealer while my parents got their own Mazda 3. It was definitely a fantastic car. There were a lot of hit and misses between that and my own 2004 NB. Mine is fully loaded with an LSD as well as a 6-speed, and it's already super fun to drive. The ND was definitely very easy to get used to (was only the second car with a stick I've ever driven on a public road, so I went pretty easy), and I'm sure the shifter would be a lot easier to get used to after a few thousand miles in it, compared to how smooth mine can be. I was also able to rev match pretty well, but I just needed to push it a bit more than mine, since my NB definitely has a lot shorter gears. But that's where I can keep the power when I need it in 4th and 5th gear, like what you pointed out. I'm not sure about most Miatas, but until it's in 6th gear, if I'm going the right speed for the gear I'm in, I can pull it pretty well!
I love Miatas! I'm hoping I can get my girlfriend into driving stick before she gets an ND for her own so we can get a stick in that one as well ;)

I just sat in the ND a few weeks ago and I do not fit at all. I am 6'4" and even with the seat all the way down and as far back as it would go, my shin was about 2 inches from the dash. The NC is bigger and I actually fit in that one just fine. NC might be worth looking at for you.

Plus their car design today is sexier than ever. Mazda truly nails design every time with their Kodo. No need to think that way. There is a possibility of installing thinner aftermarket seats. You will sit lover and further back, that gives the extra space you need.

crusing on the hwy at 30mpgs is amazing? Such a light car with a 150 hp little engine .. that is NOT amazing. A nearly 20 year old C 5 will do 30 or better crusing on the hwy with 200 more hp and tourque. Shit my 98 SS camaro would get into the 30s in 6th on road trips. Mazda stinks in regards to fuel effeciency. NOTHING AMAZING about the mpgs in any miata. If your going to have an underpowered sports car ( there is a place for them for sure), they should be cheaper and more effecient as a bonus. Not relatively expensive with simple little NA motor and no rear seats airbags etc etc. Mazda must make a huge markup on these.

ive driven a few ND's and in 6th at 70 I was hovering around 40mpg. This car can run on any octane fuel but gets MUCH better MPG when run on the recommended 93 octane.
