- It's time to restock the pantry! I have $1100 to provide all of our food and household needs from the grocery store for our family of NINE for the month. I've carefully planned out where to shop and what prices are the best. I've studied the sale ads and I know which stores have the best prices. Today's shopping comes from 10 Box, Aldi, Kroger, Dollar Tree, and Wal-Mart. Later in the month, I'll make purchases from Sam's Club and Azure Standard. Because of you I went and bought a used better and homes cookbook and the cheese grater ... both good gems. Will look for that recipe as my mom, is a coconut lover.. ps "the ignore " I think for the wonderful baptism.. yeah for the one who accepted christ in their hearts 🎉( forgot her name sorry ) take care all ❤

Janice you make me smile when you say you messed up and paid 10 cents too much for something. For the rest of us messing up is going to the store for milk and coming home $100 later. You are a jewel and a master shopper!!! You deserve a gold medal!
Janice don’t know if you know this trick but to get you strawberries to last longer take 2 parts water to 1 part distilled white vinegar mix together and wash your strawberries in it. Don’t let them sit in it but put them in and rinse them good. This kills the mold spores. I then rinse them , put them on paper towels to dry and then put them in zip lock bags in the fridge. They will last for up to 2 weeks this way.
When you say 2 part, meaning what amount of each? Thanks
Mason jars keep the fruit longer than bags sometimes for weeks
@@caglrz2183 that means twtimes as much water as vinegar so say you use 3 cups water you'd use 1 cup vinegar. It's just a ration 2 to 1 ratio
@@KellySmith-ig5gf ... I'm from Australia, and I totally agree with this comment. Glass jars keep berries fresher for much longer, whether you pre-wash your fruit or not. I've had strawberries and blueberries keep perfectly well for up to four weeks in the fridge using this storage method. :)
I really like your grocery haul videos and what you save on your food. I know the feeling when things in the pantry don't get used as fast.

Oh sweetheart, my heart goes out to you. I wish I could give you a big hug right now. You and your loved ones are in my prayers. I lost both my parents who were my only family in the last few years only 13 months apart from each other. I still remember the helplessness I felt to this day when I found Dad. I had moved back in with my parents when my specialists gave me two years at the most to live (so far it's been14 years) so we were a close team helping each other. I don't know what it feels like to lose a husband because I'm not married yet but getting Dad through the 13 months after Mum died was heartbreaking. He unexpectedly but peacefully passed away in his sleep. Allow yourself to feel however you feel and do what you need to do to get through this time. I hope you have kids, other family and loved ones surrounding you. Take things an hour at a time at this point. I know that I'm a stranger to you living here in New Zealand but you are in my prayer book so I'll be praying for you each day focusing on getting you through this traumatic time. Please feel free to comment back if you have any other specific things you want prayer for. Sending you warm hugs. ❤

Hi Janice, Great Haul, I live alone now, my dear husband has passed away from cancer. But I still watch the sales. I live in Southwest Florida, we have Kroger, Aldi, and a Beautiful grocery store is Publix, but there prices will make your hair curl. very expensive so I only buy certain items there. I was watching the tiktoker who used to be mommacusses. She made a good point. Have surprises not secrets. Secrets can be dangerous. Surprises means that eventually everyone knows and everyone is happy. So mama can have a surprise party and be happy. Dangerous things that people might want to keep hidden don’t get hidden from parents. So the box of fun food in the corner will be a surprise for us viewers. It’s not a secret.

Your channel is my favorite for grocery hauls -- it's just about all good real food when I see so many shopping trips with oodles of processed, sugary and high empty calorie choices. My family has five large dogs but I no longer get their treats at the store after I looked at the ingredients. Instead I bake once a week, oatmeal flour, unsweetened apple sauce and good peanut butter. I know what's in them, it's quick and easy in my food processor and it's a fraction of the price. Just sayin'. The pups all go nuts over them! Since Sarah is such a good helper and baker, she might be able to work that in. I'm so impressed with her abilities!

@@lisaharrigan1370 I don't have a cat, but you can just google and see what sounds good. I have no corn meal but would probably use oatmeal run in the food as a binder.
@@lisaharrigan1370 I have no cats. Without a doubt you can search and find something your cats would love. Like tuna? Chicken? Turkey? Salmon? etc, I prefer simple ingredients and would probably use pulverized oats instead of flour or corn meal.

Hi, I live in New Zealand and we don't have things like coupons. I'm a family of one plus two puppies but I shop around like you do. It's surprising how much you can save by looking at what supermarket has the cheapest price for each specific item. I also think that shopping once a fortnight or once a month also helps to save money. Food costs a lot more in my country especially after covid. Happy Birthday to Anna. The way you raise your gorgeous children seems as close to perfect as possible to me. God bless every single one of you.😊

I just want to say that you inspired me. I work in housing where I help people who were homeless find housing and then do case management with them. I created a spreadsheet where I compared a lot of food at our different stores. I will be using it to help my clients budget for groceries. They all do recieve food stamps but they very seldom get enough to last all month but im hoping this will stretch those food stamp dollars. Of course the prices will change with time but it will give me a starting point. I shared it with my coworkers who also work in housing, head start and various other programs within the company. I am using for myself as well!

It is a saving to buy, what is prefered, because that gets used up. If you have to throw out, stuff, you did not safe. Just another proof, that you are a pro in frugality!!😊

Happy Birthday, Anna!! That shelf stable milk would come in handy when stop getting milk for those couple of months from Daisy!! Nice savings!! You have to be saving $300 or more a month, at $300 a month that is $3,600 savings a year!! That is something to be really proud of!! When you get good deals on thinks you don't normally buy maybe you could put them on a list and keeps the list somewhere in view to remind you to incorporated them in you weekly menus. Instead of having to use a bunch up at once when all of it is coming to it's expiration date.
When ground beef turns gray/brown in a fridge, it is usually oxidation. The telltale way to know if it’s spoiled is smell or sliminess. Many people wouldn’t buy HB that way but I would.
I think you're right, Donna! I've already divided the meat and put it in the freezer. It smelled absolutely fine and there was no sliminess to it whatsoever. The meat inside was nice and pink, so it was just the meat on the outside that was a grayish color. :)

I always buy the reduced ground beef. It’s always a little brown. I make hamburger patties and freeze. Been doing this 20 years no one has even gotten sick

Janice, have you tried Natural Heaven's heart of palm spaghetti? I found them this past Christmas season through a sale that was advertised to me on FB. They ran a $1 per box sale, which is way better than their normal price. I purchased from them twice that week for myself and multiple extended family members and we like it. I will be hoping to find the same sale this winter to again stock up. I thought you might want to watch for it too. I love your videos!
I was thinking of you yesterday Janice when I got to go to a Kroger... I scored 8 of those salad kits and 4 pkg's of shredded cabbage! With our heat this week, I now don't have to cook. I keep a medium size basket/bin on my counter and as I find things in my pantry that need to be used up, I put them in there and get it on my menu list.
@@BSS-o6y I just read the package and I can read the ingredients- basically mixed leafy greens. The dressing- I can even read the ingredients on that too. Nothing bad about these salad kits.

I know you are sugar free and Kroger does sell their store brand french vanilla creamer in the carton (looks just like the Walmart one) but its Sugar Free. I use it. Tastes great. Walmart should have one also.

Hi Ozark family. I wanted to tell this to Janice especially but also your older children. I was raised in a deeply religious home and the people we congregated with and associated with for fun were of this same faith. They were wonderful. I grew up with your mentality that people are mostly good and kind. The moral to this is I married young to a boy who wasn't our same faith but I thought had been raised good and I thought I could change the bad habits he did have. It was the worst decision of my life. I was assaulted and became pregnant with my daughter. So I thought I had to marry him even tho my parents begged me not to. I was married 7 years total although I left him when my daughter was 9 months old,he promised to change. He abused me and my young daughter horribly and in the most degusting ways until she told me at age 5. I don't want to ramble but there are so many bad people and your husband is very wise and proactive preopening pkgs and gifts. Like he said he was a Police officer so he knows how bad people can be. Use that block button liberally! I now have the most wonderful husband. Love your family

I use Shelf stable milk from dollar tree. Taste different but not bad.
Janice, I was wondering how you like that shelf stable milk? Also, you are probably the hardest working lady on youtube! Your 4-5 store shopping and checking prices on each item, taking care of your family farm and beautiful family…and that’s before noon! I just purchased shelf-stable milk from Dollar Tree today to put in my prepper pantry. I have heard it is good, but I haven't tried it yet.
Shelf stable milk is actually pretty good. I use the 1%….Enjoy! 🙃
