People need to quit criticizing her food. She's helping people if you can do better then go ahead!! She's cooking on a budget for heavens sake. She can't always get all the food groups. So sick of people being rude or ignorant!!!
Not rude. You took it personal. We are sharing facts as she is. No harm, no foul. Relax. Opinions are just that. Open to each person. Like your own rant.👍
The comments are rude. People are incredibly rude in the past few years and I have noticed comments get more so with each passing day. It is not about taking things personally, it is that we live in a sh**hole world and that is part of the culture these days. People can make nasty comments by hiding behind a keyboard.
I am grateful for her videos.
@@Pfftztt and that's why no one liked your comment, clown
I'm grateful for this video.. just found this today
Agree sharing our ideas. Is not criticizing her. Dang people
A la chingada con Los haters. You know what, I used to only have $15 a week to spend on groceries and I had to buy everything from the 99c store. I had to be very creative and buy a lot of pasta and things that are filling. I felt embarrassed about my financial situation but I was grateful to still eat. No one can judge. You are amazing
😆 thank you. People sometimes Don't get that many people have a hard financial situation. I know this is not the best but sometimes that's what people have to spend on groceries. Thanks for watching.
Exactly right ❤
Exactly. Some people forget that they are privileged and dont to have to worry about food.so they forget that some people are struggling and have little to work with and these videos help them to make meals they can afford so they can still eat.... Some get so removed because c they live on a different reality
Yes she is wonderful helping others to know how to live on barely nothing . Many people on street would be able to gain from these videos even because it's so much worse there even 😢.
She's doing great. People who have money for fancy food will never understand. I live in a 1989 camper with a leak and the floor falling through. I work full-time and ramen noodles with chili is a fancy night for me and im grateful.
I agree! In 1988 at 18yrs old I was on my own making $7 an hour full time and renting a $200 a month basement room. And trying to go to college. I could only afford 1 class & the books every semester . I never ate breakfast- only lunch & sometimes dinner. Lunch was sometimes two 79c Taco Bell tacos. A lot of nights I didn’t eat unless someone invited me to dinner. Sometimes I ate spaghetti (no meat),or buttered noodles, canned soup, grilled cheese, quesadillas, beans & rice etc. A splurge was Lg cheese/sausage pizza w/ 2- liter soda for $10 that I would stretch out a few days. I really couldn’t afford a lot of food/ groceries back then or have all the spices. I didn’t have a lot of direction & no TH-cam back then for ideas. I’m happy people can watch these videos and get some ideas on how to stretch $ and ingredients out. Really as long as your belly is full it doesn’t matter if it’s not super healthy or pulling from every food group.
I ate fritos with chill and beans covered in shredded cheese for dinner before my night job while I was a student at a university. In the morning, I ate cream of wheat. Salads and Ramen noodles for lunch.
In the 80's my ex gave me $35 a week for groceries. This included diapers and formula. My grandma bought me a cookbook. I learned to cook from scratch. As long as i had all my stable ingredients, i was able to pull it off . I was proud of myself.
Proud of you too❤
You know what , she’s helping those of us who struggle n I appreciate her. Genuine heart , she’s jus wanting to help
If you have time to watch this video, you have time to make this bread. Honestly, if you're short on cash and you're hungry, you'll make time. Plus, there's joy in cooking your own food. It tastes better, too.

I have been baking for 50 years. I never heard of whisking the flour after opening the bag. Thank you for this useful tip
Just don't use a fork, it'll poke a hole in the bag 😂 ... Pre-sift your powders sugar too😊
l have never seen it here in Europe though in developing Country they do, thays in case something is in the flour. Even new ones, can be faulty. Try to sieve sepately, otherwise if thete is something odd, your whole meal is destroyed.
You have been baking for 50 years but did you use cook books when you were young. They always said sift flour...but people often skipped that step me included😊
@@saphahmelkisedek9762thank you for the advice 😊
Not sifting- aerating two different things- I’m 74 and in home economics class( long gone in schools) we learned to aerate flour before measuring….

Waste not, want not tips:
- Save pickle juice and add it to some mayo and ketchup for a little pickle flavor on the hot dogs and burgers. Pickle juice can also be used in a potato salad when you're out of pickles. Make refrigerator pickles from cucumbers, popsicles for the kids, add a cup to a crockpot pork roast, etc. It can be used as the vinegar in homemade drain cleaner with baking soda and salt.
- Give the tuna liquid to your furbabies.
- Save the corn liquid, broccoli liquid, lentil liquid and most all veggie liquids in a freezer container for soup stock. Yeah, not sauerkraut liquid! Save green pea liquid but use sparingly in most soups as it has a strong flavor but it can be frozen separately to use when making pea soup. Beet liquid can be added to baked goods and spinach/greens liquid can be added to crepes for a nice wrap for a little added nutrition. Mild veg liquids can be used as the liquid when making gravies and sauces - yes, it will change the flavor but it's still good.
- If you happen to be using fresh corn, use the silk for tea, carefully remove the husks to dry for tamales and use the cobs for jelly or syrup.
- When you are out of pinto, red bean and black beans the liquids can be cooked down to a thicker consistency for a side dish or fill a tortilla or top nachos. Bean liquids can be used in making meringue candy.
- Roll some of the dough out, add any leftovers, roll up and cut into pinwheels. Top with butter and seasonings and bake, yum.
- Do a search to find the proper way to heat eggshells to sterilize them (low heat in the oven). Ground them fine and you have human calcium supplement.
Oh wow great tips. Thank you do much for sharing!
I like to keep the pickle juice in my fridge and take a sip when I have acid reflux. It really helps.
Love your information 84 and still learning
Juice from olives
Have read newest thing with pickle juice is to let raw chicken marinade in it for min of 1-4 hrs to overnight for tender,& flavorful chicken ! Then bake, crockpot, grill as usual .
Whenever i made flour tortillas i never let them rest and they didnt raised but now ill let them rest thanks for the tip

I thought I knew how to make flour tortillas. But, I tried your method, especially using the right pan. I love that I can make 8 tortillas from 1 cup of flour. I added tomato sauce, chopped green onions and chopped fresh basil to the first batch. They came out great. So, I made another batch with half bread flour and half whole wheat flour. They came out great too. Been using these tortillas for everything. Thanks.

I love that you do the best you can with what you Have. Supermarkets usually put them out early in the morning this way the quality of your food is better.
Tip - when you need flour on the counter to roll out dough, hang a towel over a drawer to hang down so you won't have to clean flour off your cabinets.

Healthy?
@@diahill1945 Agree, only "whole foods" are healthy. Too many ingredients, especially GMOs in prepackaged foods & table salt is not healthy. This is my first time watching you. I enjoyed your content. The only item I think is very costly was the deli ham. If you work it out per pound, it’s almost $7 a pound. I purchase the whole hams at the holidays while they are under a $1 a pound, slice thin, and freeze for later use. I even cube some and freeze for soup, stews and casseroles. With all that said, that package is convenient. No doubt. Thank you for sharing.

I love real Mexican food. We lived in Mexico 10 years. The Mexicans that come here do not make their food like in Mexico or other Spanish countries. We like the peppers and salsas. Thank you. I do not mean to disrespect the Spanish restaurants but I can cook it too!
They are nasty.
Well the reality is that people in the US like tex mex not real authentic Mexican food. So if they do authentic Mexican they will not sale.
@@mexicancookingwithgaby6589 we like both. Food in Mexico is better esp if by a coastline. Most people in the US just do not know the difference. Even in Walmart just go to the back and love watching them making the food

Awesome!!! Welcome. Thanks for watching.
Is your challenge $1 a day or $1 a meal? It seems like it's $21 for the week - so $1 a meal. You did amazing!!! I'll be trying some of these meal ideas, for sure! Thank you!
I was thinking the same
Agree with you, this equates to $1+/meal from what I can tell.
I think it's $1/meal but am so impressed. I am not sure it's possible to eat on $1/day unless you're on a serious diet or skip meals..
Did you actually watch the video she shows you the meals? It’s like a weeks worth.🤷♀️ maybe you saw it different than I did.
Because she only did 6 days of meals it’s over $1/meal.
You had me when you started with that bread!
..my family love bread!
I enjoyed watching your video and thank you for spending time to show people how to cost save in making the meals.
I'm in my early 70's and had four medical problems before I retired. When I retired I decided to make a change in my eating, I started to read on healthy eating, watching TH-cam and putting my menu into place. I did eat like your video that you had shown us, by eating this way, I became unhealthy and my body retaliated and was on four different medications. After I retired I had time and planned my grocery list and a year later, I'm off all my meds and the doctor stated whatever I'm doing just keep it up. The only thing he suggested was to exercise. For example, you made a sandwich on white bread, cheap ham and cheese. I would of made it the same but would of added 80% of vegetables with it. All I have seen is a typical American food that is making the people very sick. Inflammation, arthritis, blood pressure, cholesterol and gaining weight is on the rise since peaple use cheese on everything, cheap majo, GMO corn in a can, bad oils. I did not see anything fresh, sorry, but I give you a thumbs down. It's only good for young healthy people and not for 65+ population. Noticed lots of salt!
Agree either you. This is only to help people that have a very low budget. I know people that they truly only have $20 or less to eat for a week. This is just an idea not long term way of eating.
Agree with you
@@mexicancookingwithgaby6589 you are gracious in your response and while at 67 hubs and I have learned to eat healthier than previously, you still have ideas that people can tweak to work for their plates. My husband is carnivore dieting so mostly meat with eggs and I have a tick disease called alpha gal so no pork or beef or any mammal, only poultry and fish and I really am not in love with fish ha ha so we have adapted and found that snacks are the big cost that we gave up so much of. THAT and gardening has been the biggest helper to us. Even pots of cherry tomatoes and cucumbers save money and pots of lettuce and kale and mustard etc. two strawberry plants just keep multiplying and come back every year if you have even pots and no garden space.
Broccoli burgers… great idea to try and incorporate in a meatless night. Awesome thank you.
I’m so glad I caught your video. everything is so expensive right now, it was great to see different ideas. Sometimes we just can’t see the possibilities available when our pantry is running low. Everything looked yummy! Thanks for sharing ❤
